I kinda want the ending that's currently most plausible, Salt reconciles with Mimi and both stay in PI, Papika past revealed and Cocona 好き before she also leaves/stays behind, Cocona gets normal life, Yayaka and the 3 kids gets happiness, and then Papika suddenly appears post-credits.

Peter Pan. Papika's sacrifice saves the day and Cocona can stand on her own now that she has grown and life a happy, fulfilling life without her mentally retarded aunt lusting after her or eventually her daughter.

A good end with Cocona and Papika staying together forever like they promised me in the PV

Not sure what I want regarding Papika and Cocona, the age-regression and age-difference makes the whole thing really weird.

That is Cocona and not Mimi. How old are they here? Why didn't they remember any of this?

It probably happened before the hospital scenes in ep 9 (Cocona meeting Yayaka for the first time).
Then they probably lost their memory because they were forced out of PI by some KKK/FF half-botched experiment.

Papika's current state works closer to a reincarnation than her actually being older.

We know she got deaged and that she, apparently, grew up trapped in PI, and at some point met Cocona. So, after getting deaged she lived an entirely different life.

Sure, later she recovered her memories, but that's precisely the part that works as a reincarnation, because it's closer to her recovering the memories of a past life.

Complaining about this would be like complaining about, say, Natsume and Harutora ending up together in Tokyo Ravens, because once he got his memories as Yakou, he clearly became more mature due to getting back all of his life experience from his previous life, in which he was considerably older than what Natsume currently is.

There was some faint hints of Sayuri being worried about Salt in ep 11. 12 just brought it in full force. It's kind of came out of nowhere. They're probably building up Salt giving up on Mimi. But since he himself doesn't show any interest in Sayuri that might actually not be the case.

Even that is not enough to express the sheer horror of CCN and PPK being separated.

First loves don't always work out in the end and this is most definitely still a coming of age show.

Whilst I'm not sure whether they'll deliver on yuri, the development is already there.
Cocona wouldn't have become jealous of Mimi, if her feelings for Papika were just that of friends (unless she's a very selfish person, who doesn't want Papika to have other friends, and she would also be a hypocrite, considering she also has a very close friend in Yayaka).

Papika has also made it clear her feelings for Mimi and Cocona are different, referring to Mimi as a kind friend, and Cocona as a beloved person. The description of her feelings for Cocona she made to Yayaka in ep9 didn't leave much to interpretation either.

I get what you mean and I agree, but Papika had made Cocona feel very special like nobody else ever had and for the first time in her life that she remembers she made a big decision of her own to help Papika gather those shards just because Papika wanted them.

I guess the Mimi revelation came at just the wrong time when when Cocona was just beginning to accept her feelings for Papika. Ep 8 starts with Cocona giving her this look and ends with being called Mimi again. That dorky hand holding shot in ep 9 shows that Cocona really wants to believe her.

I expected something dark and ambiguous beneath the cute adventurs since episode 1, not seeing it delivering though.

I can imagine Papika walking in on Yayaka in the middle of pretending to be a magical girl. It ends with Papika joining in, doing her hair and commenting on how cool she is.

That's not surprising, since she was under KKK surveillance since childhood, with Yayaka and grandmabot

Don't get me wrong, all these things are kinda explained, it just seems tamer than I hoped.

I went back to rewatch this scene to propose the theory that this girl is actually Another Bust, but then I noticed something. The way Cocona asks "Anata wa... dare?" here is identical to how she asks Mimi on the boat who is she.

So maybe Cocona had a recurring dream with Papika (except it was reality for Papika), but then Asclepius replaced her dream with Mimi.

Yes, I agree. Returning to the theme of dead girls would be a good touch. Highly unlikely though.

From the storyboards at the end of ep 12, it's quite likely that Mimi, Cocona and Papika(na) have lived simultaneously in PI for some time.

There was no reason for MUSCLE to exist, but out of all the scenes that took time away from the important drama it's the one I'd want to cut the least. The fact that it was such a shitty buff makes it even better.

If anything they should have cut Salt and Sayuri traveling to and inside of the KKK HQ. They didn't even have time to properly animate these scenes anyway.
