Shinichi wasn't an edgelord though.

When will you stop posting in shit threads?

When will you stop shitting up good threads

Who did it better?
Parasyte, although Shinichi wasn't a big edgelord.
Tokyo Ghoul is straight up edge. Kaneki became a totally different person.

When will you shit threading up stop shits?

Parasyte is vastly superior, there's a explanation for Shinichi's edginess and not to mention he suffered way more,
Tokyo Ghoul is definitely one of those "so bad it's good" series though

>Shinichi wasn't an edgelord
Did you forget that scene where he drops a dead dog into the trash?

I, for one, am a fan of the classics.

Shinich was an edgelord ever since he got stabbed in the chest. Only at the end when he started becoming a pussy did he stop being one.

Parasyte and Kaneki

>unable to feel empathy due to an alien fucking with your body and the shock of your mom getting killed + an alien took her shape and almost murdered you while looking like her
>edgelord

Kill yourself, how is he an edgelord if he simply cannot feel things, Sup Forums is one of the most retarded boards ever

>if he simply cannot feel things
Literally the definition of an edgelord. The "my dark past made me unable to emotion" is literally what an edgelord is.

came here to post this

The fuck? No it isn't. An edgelord is just someone who goes out of his way to act as edgy as possible. You can be an edgelord and still feel emotions.

Kys both are great and Tokyo ghoul is great. Well, the manga that is

''tokyo ghoul manga is great''

new

Kaneki wasn't an edgelord in the anime in season 2 though. He was fucking moping around the entire anime.

Yes

>kys
>Tokyo ghoul is great.
Underage-kun, no need to get so pissy

>tokyo ghoul manga is great
agreed

Why dont people who like this tripe, jerk off to Linkin Park and call it a day.

Kiseiju is pretty Old and the "edgelord" wasn't something popular .The autor was taking risk by doing that WE can't say the same for tokyo ghoul

People like you probably don't understand what it's like. People don't actively choose what they enjoy, they just like what reminds them of themselves, just like how kids re-enact trauma from there childhoods as adults. You probably don't know what its like to have anything bad happen to you.

what do you mean

NOT EDGY AT ALL

Should I read Parasyte or watch it?

you know to be honest I never really got why that was such a bad thing

you try to save it but its not his dog at the end of the day, digging a grave is a pain and overall pointless in a city where theres limited areas where someone can dig a burial mound with his hands alone

Read it.

Anime is faithful but it cuts some scenes out. Also, they tried to modernize it, but it fails considering that now that cellphones and the Internet exist, the whole setting becomes a lot less plausible, the parasytes wouldn't be able to remain hidden for long.

On the other hand, manga art is meh whilst the animation is pretty good in the anime. Some people hate the soundtrack because it's dubstep, but I personally enjoyed it, especially the ED. Voice acting is top notch.

Up to you but I'd pick the manga if you want better writing.

The anime does a terrible job at honoring what the manga did so well.

For a while before the anime was even announced parasyte was one of the manga that was most desired for an adaptation and for good reasons

Because I made good decisions in life.

Read and watch. Best of both worlds.

None of those pleb characters.

CRAAAWWWWWWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIINNN

...

kaneki's development makes no fuckin sense and is overall trash . too edgy i feel like im looking at myself circa 2007

To take notice of it and do nothing (like most everyone else would do) is one thing, to decide to do something and then just throw it in the garbage is another.
I say that as someone who threw a dead cat in the garbage lol

Parasyte was decent, Shinichi's development made sense. Unlike Kaneki who became an edgelord after seeing a Linkin Park music video.

I prefer this guy. He seems to me as the most realistic portrayal

Shinichi was good, TG was crappy, dunno other two.

Good choice

...

He overcompensated for his abusive home life and sadness by trying to be overly friendly, wound up pulling a full 180 and wishing for death after not being able to keep up the facade, came to terms with it, and now he's a pretty stable dude with a sense of purpose

Shincihi had a buncha mikis regulating his chemical balance so he was just a sociopath who wanted revenge on illegal aliens.
Kaneki was tortured till he realized he gotta stop fucking around and to fuck everyone up whose fucking his status quo.

>edgelord after seeing a Linkin Park music video.

>beat by mom for most of childhood

>get neck meat ripped out and hospitalized on first date with secret cannibal

>normal food now tastes like shit forever

>fingers and toes repeatedly sliced off and regenerated for days on end by a big gay rapist who puts centipedes in your ears and injects shit into your mucosa

I mean, generally edgelords are only called edgelords because they're edgy without a valid reason

Anime messed up pacing very badly, large contributor to possible edgelord status.

Could be worse

I would say they're both case studies in how to write edgelords the right away.

1. Edginess for a valid reason instead of just the rule of cool. Shinichi's being biological reconfiguration, Kaneki's being compounding mental turmoil for repeated physical abuse and trauma

2. Lampshading the edgelord mentality as something that is inherently self-destructive and undesirable instead of glorifying it and rewarding them for it.

3. Having them eventually grow out of it

Shinji in End of Eva.

So who had it worse? Kaneki or Ajin guy.

Read. The parasites are creepier and Shinichi's change is more subtle instead of glasses on/glasses off. Also, Satomi doesn't have a retarded haircut.

Was great last 60 chapters are shit

is tokyo ghoul actually good?
i want to read the manga so i can get to re because re looks hype as shit but the art is so bad

Nagai Kei is good because he was never "innocent", he's a goddamn sociopath but a benign one.

re is literally shit don't read it retard

Are you a MANimefag?

I've stopped reading this manga due the bad writing.

This tells a lot about how shit it is

>not using arrows
This thread reeks of newfaggottry

Boris

read TG, skip re

Guilty Crown

>Bad writing

Such as?

>kys
>Tokyo ghoul is great
Fuck off to Youtube, underaged casual.

>""
You, too.

You forgot this edgelord.

I am Edgelord

i am the tokyo ghoul

>Kaneki became a totally different person.
having to eat humans can fuck you up

He almost didn't have a non-edgy phase, and he begins the series as an edgelord too.

>Kaneki isn't an edgelord

Implying that having blood staining the remnants of your white hair to turn black due to physical and mental trauma while throwing around badass quotes isnt edgy...

>forced himself to make the decision to abandon his pretty cozy life to go back to being seen as a terrorist monster and kill the strongest ghoul killer in the world even though he saw him as a father figure for years
I think its pretty justified, anyone would be paranoid as fuck.
I blame the anime for tainting TG's image forever, the manga, yes including :RE its pretty good

Kaneki becomes an edgelord? I thought Tokyo Ghoul just had another dumb

>VAMPIRES ARE PEOPLE TOO

plot in which hunters are evil and the ghouls can do no wrong. If he actually becomes an edgelord it may actually be good.

you are literally retarded if you look at any examples of the retards up top its because they felt too much emotion too begin with

The humans did literally nothing wrong

...

he was always an edgelord, but he tried to emphatize with others by having a fake persona inspired by his only childhood friend ever, he's mentally unstable and through the series he goes through a lot of phases which show different faces of his personaliy acording to his current situation, but at one point he stops giving a shit and decides to be honest with himself and just be his good old dead inside self

This guy.

Such as I don't remember and it is shit. Read it yourself, I don't actually care

newfaggot

k

>Did you forget that scene where he drops a dead dog into the trash?
Did you forget that he consoled the dog before it died? Not very edgy behaviour if you ask me.

I was talking about re

The first part was okay

wasn't the entire point of Kiseijuu, how he ultimately understood being humanity?

>so
*high-fives arm stub*
>hol up
*contracts alien hand syndrome*
>you be sayin
*throws puppy into garbage can*
>so you be sayin
*grabs infant*
>we wuz
*ties cord around hand*
>"powers that be"
*listens to oceanic chimneys biogenesis theories*
>an sheit???
*stabs venomous spear into not-yet corpse*

Look retards, this thread is filled with retards so I will elaborate it

Shinichi never was an edgelord, it was migi's dna that conflicted Shinichi and made him into what he was. And besides Shinichi didn't end up as an edgelord like Kaneki, Shinichi's character developed pretty well at end of the manga. Migi's dna made him to change his appearance and his behavior, etc. But the most important part, it changed his personality into a cold autist.

Kaneki had the characteristics of an edgelord. He's ruthless towards his enemies, acknowledging the fact he is fucked up and has 100% self-awareness, kinda. Also in the torture chamber, he realizes that he could've save this family from bereavement at the very end. This just makes him even more retarded. And then all the sudden, he embraced his retarded ghoul side and beat the shit out of his enemy.

Also kaneki had an edge background, where his mother was beating the shit out of him, while Shinichi really loved his family

the real edgelord is yuri

None of these.

I remember laughing at Shinichi's scenes which were supposed to depict him losing his humanity, such as when he threw away the puppy. It just seemed so comical, probably because the show had absolutely no subtlety and started having "deep" conversations comparing humanity to cattle in episode two or so.

The one show that did this trope right was Shiki. The doctor wasn't exactly a kid, but he sure did lose his innocence in a believable yet horrifying manner.

Not to mention the puppy was already dead anyways, so throwing it in the trash isn't even that edgy.

...

Yeah, I've literally seen people do edgier shit irl, but Satomi acted like it was the end of the world for some reason. I can't tell who's the autist here, whether it's me or her.

You're all wrong

>innocent kid loses his humanity and becomes edgelord

It's a real life trope actually. Pic related cool innocent dude loses his humanity as well and becomes and edgelord.

This nut

I'm tired to death of this meme.

...

...

He's not an edgelord though. Come back when he becomes the Dark Lord. The one AU think is getting close, but its doesn't go into a lot of detail. Disemboweling yourself so you can tell a little girl the weather is slightly edgy though.

It's good.

The end ruined it.

>innocent kid loses his humanity and becomes edgelord
How about innocent robot?

Don't read the sequel because unfortunately, it only gets worse. Ishida has lost what made TG remotely good.

> reeee:zero
> did anything good

What's bad about :re?
The only thing I could complain about is Rushima arc dragging on for too long after the interesting/hype bits in Cochlea were already over but that's it.

Everything about it.

The Rushima failure was the final straw on the camel's back.

I throw dead animals in the bin all the fucking time. It ain't my pet, I don't want it stinking up the side walk etc so in the bin it goes. These are mostly bats, possums and birds (the odd toad who gets run over) who kill themselves touching power lines, but you get the idea. If I didn't put the fucker in the bin, no one else would and it would rot on my side walk.

Coming across one in a park etc (not my property) I'd probably leave it alone or call someone, but they are going to do the exact same fucking thing, put it in the bin. Could be decent fertilizer, but fuck digging, and fuck leaving a bone pile behind.

This was just one of those scene during the series that came off as a 'what the fuck is this authors problem with having characters react to very logical decisions and make the out to be a monster'. I never bought the migi making MC psychopathic, the kid went through some shit, of course it's going to fucking change him.

Tokyo ghoul is decent, re: is trash, I dropped it and then picked it up again for some reason. I am just a baka but you should avoid it.

Fire Extinguisher is the best weapon.
