>Samurai and ninjas are not popular any more? Fujoshits love gay samurai.
Kevin Morris
Overdone
Jason Foster
True, but to be fair I think we got more isekai stuff in the last two years than samurai stuff in the last 20
Nathan Green
Onihei next season
Cameron Hernandez
Probably because japs think it's cheesy.
Joseph Collins
Popular setting comes and go. Things get boring and everyone moves to the next hot thing. Vidya example: how many WW2 shoters have you seen in recent years compared to the constant stream of those in the past?
Logan Evans
Isn't that swordshit anime in feudal-fantasy-Japan?
There's AT LEAST one a season, god forbid they flood us with any more.
Juan Jones
Best short of the season
Grayson Gray
Nobunaga no Shinobi
Not sure if it counts but Drifters and Touken Ranbu
Samuel Allen
Hijacked by fujos. Male Otaku prefer isekai with high fantasy aesthetic.
And Japan hasn't forgotten its roots, you've heard of Taiga dramas before, right?
Evan Powell
>Male Otaku prefer isekai with high fantasy aesthetic. Maybe for newfag.
I don't like isekai at all. Especially the one with harem in it. Basilisk & Shigurui are the best feudal anime ever.
t. veteran male otaku
Connor Turner
You can't fool me fujo.
Bentley Clark
Shigurui is massively homoerotic.
Carter Nguyen
Picked up
Jose Flores
It's called a phase.
Jaxon Moore
>samurai warriors anime flopped with QUALITY
i wish we had a huge long running series of 50 something episodes of the whole sengoku era from Nobunaga's start to Yukimura stands at Osaka with SW's characters
Blake Brown
>no mention of Hyouge Mono
plebs
Michael Bell
pfftahahaha those designs are so fucking bad
Aiden Davis
It's more exotic.
Easton Lopez
>handlebars on a horse >feudal Japan
Parker Ramirez
>about ninjas,
Not as many as you'd think really
Jose Bennett

Kevin Bell
>Male Otaku prefer isekai with high fantasy aesthetic.
What about one of those but with Japanese aesthetics...oh, wait!
Ninjas are like steampunk, or fantasy, its something that is dumped into lot of works of different genres but its difficult to find in its pure form.
Julian Cox
When on daily basis you see samurais commuting on the subway, ninjas buying stuff at the combini, or race queen geishas they get stale and lose their magic. Same happens to mechas, they arent trending anymore because theres a mecha battle at any hour of the day. Thats why japan turned the wheel to fantasy medieval europe settings and 'normal' SOL school settings.
