I guess I'll post OAD again too, for those who missed it

What would happen if Yujiro decided to

Chapter title: "VS Country".
Looks like it really is happening. Will skim the rest briefly.

So if Yujiro is as strong as Murrica, shouldn't Musashi stomp Japan easily?

>you will never be a rich midget benefactor being hugged by Musashi

80% sure he's saying "thank you" here.

We were on break for a week. Where is everyone?

Musashi declares war
youtube.com/watch?v=NhdNT1dnoL8

Doesn't Musashi remember the last time somebody came up to him with their hands in their pockets and their feet in this exact same position?

memes is beautiful

dead thread = dead series.

Would you guys care that much if we did/didn't redo the mag chapters that I scanlated, now that they're mostly in volume form? btw, volume 15 on the 6th; hype.

I mean, I care.

These threads will likely be dormant until the anime.

>These threads will likely be dormant until the anime.
But there's literally no announcement date for its release yet

There sure isn't

I've been had

Worse yet, when the anime comes out it'll probably be censored to hell and back

I figured that the only reason what we've seen is uncensored is because it was on a DVD

uh...

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that the only guy that Musashi felt 2 sword style was worth using on was Yujiro and everyone else has been 1 sword? Musashi was infamous for using 2 swords and Itagaki will probably make it so it's a plot point like the Ali Jr knocking out Doppo thing.

We gon see Musashi go to town on EVERYONE now to regain the face he lost to Memetobe.

Literally and metaphorically.

He used it on Baki too, but imaginary swords.

Baki was also the only one he used the movement prediction thing on, at least explicitly.

You could be right. I really do hate to make this comparison, but I feel that he might be doing a Gilgamesh thing; both incorrigibly refusing to use their own best/favorite weapon on anybody except the 'worthy', even if it costs them a loss.

I care my man.

Yeah but he also completely ruined Baki without using a sword as well. It might have just been a 'can I still get this shit down?' sort of thing since he was in a new body.

But its Itagaki so it's impossible to say.

Strong is beautiful

Haven't been keeping up with this but did he and Yujiro fight yet?

I care, but you and I both know baki is slow as molasses. It's hard to care about this chapter.

His fight against Yuujiro was like his second fight in the fuckin series.

>It's hard to care about this chapter
Then would you care about a BRAAAAND NEWWW grappler baki chapter

should be out tomorrow or something; whenever we get to upload it

aw ye, Baki thread

I'd care more if I hadn't watched it, even though the anime was... lacking.

I wonder whatever happened to Mt.Toba, he was actually like, not a shittier fighter. Seemed like a solid b-tier.

>I wonder whatever happened to Mt.Toba
Uh oh
nobody tell him, it'll just break his heart

Wait, I meant the sumo guy. I see Mt.Toba hade a gaiden though, what happened?

...

>going toe to toe with the guy who made a caveman shit himself, match against the world's strongest being and defeated a ninja/wushu master

Oh. RIP Toba. Is that giaden translated anywhere?

Ninja and wushu are both inaccurate terms.

The most succinct and accurate way to describe both Motobe and Musashi is by calling each a "man of war".

50-50 chance that Wild Fang has it in their private stores. The raws are fucking impossible to redraw, so we've kinda tried to not do it ourselves. The raws themselves are on the mega though, if you wanna just look at it. The story is pretty clear from the imagery.

Toba was shit tier though. They even say as much that the only reason Toba got as far as he did was Baki fighting like a noob and not fighting him properly.

Yujiro even tells Spandam how he'd do it. That was back before we got Yujiro doing ungodly feats and was a feasible target for guys like Doppo .

>Spandam
kek

Sorry. Was reading OP today so got them mixed up.

Strydum*

That said I would welcome some guy with a sword that turns into an elephant at this point in Baki.

Yeah I mixed up toba and sumo guy. Sumo guy looked legit Btier+

I don't... actually know where the mega is.

Well the Sumo Guy gets absolutely no sold by Yujiro and I forget who he loses to after bodying Motobe.

Plus the sumo is just a bad match up. I forget if he's the same one that ruined the wrestler in the warm up fight for Kureha and Baki.

>and I forget who he loses to after bodying Motobe
Igari outsumos him.

Not a prob, I don't post it that often.

It's the one folder in there that's not titled in English; I haven't gotten around to changing it.

Character you want to see more of?

Character you want to see less of?

For me, it's Jack and Baki respectively.

Yeah, yeah, it's BAKI-dou, but fuck... unless some shit is finally happening with him and Kozue, I want the other Hanma getting some limelight.

Jack a shit.

more hanayama
less musashi

...

Im bored of Baki now. I'd rather see the series branch out into a series of Korakuen fights that are people trying to build up to fight Baki.

The best fights we get in general tend to be the lesser characters fighting with their styles as opposed to the psuedo-fights with guys like Musashi and Yujiro because we know how bullshit those characters are by default.

I'd rather see a Jack vs Hanayama fight than a Baki vs Musashi fight at this point or Shibukawa vs anyone after what he pulled with Oliva.

Hell. Just a short run of Koshou actually learning to fight normally instead of MUH MEDICINE so he can play catch up or Hanada not being a useless nobody.

Baki has transcended his own series at this point. The best fights in the best arc were all non-Hanmas. The best fights in this arc have been non-Hanmas.

Just a series called Korakeun where we get build up for fights between the other characters in general with nothing to do with Baki or Yujiro would be better than the current stuff.

Memetobes been the only good thing about this current arc.

>a series called Korakuen where we get build up for fights between the other characters in general with nothing to do with Baki or Yujiro would be better than the current stuff.
That'd be pretty cool, actually. It could focus on filling the weird timeskips that we get throughout the series.

What would be the better fight though: Hanayama vs Jack, or Hanayama vs Pickle? Don't factor in narrative relevance of the characters.

Hanayama vs Jack should be interesting if we're talking about scarface Hanayama. Pickle would destroy him.

An arc where Jack regains his confidence.

Are you saying Pickle would unilaterally destroy Scarface Hanayama? I must disagree. Hanayama stopped Pickle in his tracks in the main series. I think it'd be a good fight; no obvious winner.

>Jack STILL hasn't awakened his Hanma blood

Will he be unstoppable at that point? Or will he just get shat on again?

Scarface Hanayama wasn't really him being stronger than his current incarnation tho. It was just him acting in a normal world and being Hanayama. I mean he's still pretty fucking badass in Scarface but he gets his shit pushed in by a bald gay dwarf who's effectively just midget Jack with ninja techniques other than pitfighting moves.

Did that gaiden ever end? Spinyback only has upto the post hospital escape and I highly doubt Itagaki would have cancelled it after doing the entire 'Hanayama at school' series. Same as the Doppo gaiden infact.

Again those series are way more interesting than the current stuff in Baki because of the characters involved.

Same as the boxing stuff with Retsu as well but we all know where he is now.

I don't think Jack *can* awaken the Hanma blood. I believe its activation is directly tied to the release of endorphins, which is essentially resultant of a state of joy/ecstasy. Both Baki and Yuujiro *enjoy* fighting at the highest level, which is why they always end up in Hanma mode whenever they fight truly difficult battles. Jack doesn't fight to enjoy himself (as far as we know); he fights because he wants to murder Yuujiro. His entire life has been inspired by rage and revenge, rather than pleasure; even Yuujiro isn't *always* pissed off. Because of this, he can't use endorphins, and he can't go true Hanma mode. Baki realized that he enjoyed fighting and managed to release his endorphins when he was 13. Jack's like 25 and he hasn't had such an experience, so I don't think his status quo is likely to change anytime soon.

Baki confirmed you can beat Pickle using some technique but what is Hanayama going to use? His only gimmick is the vice grip which while being cool as hell I can't see it working on Pickle's flesh. And here we're assuming Hanayama is on par with Baki on a physical level.

What if it was all a dream.

What the fuck is this disgusting art??? Who ever did the art for this manga deserves to have his hands chopped off.
>inb4 its c-creative
yeah thats what those faggots that like mob psycho say, just accept that the art and therefore manga is shit

From what yujiro said about Jack? He can't awaken his blood. He's not pure enough.

Plus going by what the series implied early on is that the Demon Back isn't a 'blood' based thing. It's a form gathered by constantly picking fights and naturally forming the muscle groups through constant fights. That gives you obscene reaction times that gets coupled with the knowledge that surviving hundreds of fights would get you.

The only reason we have seen it from a Hanma is that they are the only ones fight hungry enough to attain it and Jack spent the majority of his teen/adult life punching a bag in an attempt to reach Yujiro until the doctor gave him the drugs.

Of course that doesn't account for the bullshit like Yujiro stopping an earthquake by punching it or whatever but I think that's just Itagaki not knowing where to draw the line at a target for Baki.

>???

Scarface is over; the team just hasn't released anything for it in a while. Spiny himself does the translation for that one, so I'd have to ask him where progress is on that. Regardless, if you just want to look at the raw pages that go to the end, they're in the mega.

Doppo's gaiden, Kenjin, is just five chapters. We *were* working on chapter 3, but our previous redrawer disappeared when we needed him for it. The redraws for it are just so hard; I really don't want to do it myself, so it's semi-shelved for now. If I get inspired some day, I'll put it out, but until then, the scanlation's stagnated.

Fair enough.

What is the theme for the Doppo Gaiden tho? Are we going to get him fighting Yuichirro or is it just him vs whoever? Because it's hard to determine from the first 2 chapters other than him confronting Yuu after the wrestling match and calling him out on losing.

Except Gil never uses EA properly ever because he's an arrogant twat.

It's just him vs whoever, and the whoevers don't matter that much. Sabu (sword guy) has come back in Dou, but the guys in the first, fourth and fifth chapter never even recur.

...

Ahhhhh. That's alright I suppose.

I wish we'd got more of the guy Yujiro brought to Maximum Tournament. He was a bit of a Mary Sue but he was fun to have around. It's a shame he had to fight Doppo and get fucking maimed beyond comparison.

>Character you want to see more of?
Hanayama he needs a main series fight

He didn't just get maimed; he died.

And Musashi never used his perfected, no-hand version of Niten Ichiryuu until Yuujiro beat him when he was using normal Niten Ichiryuu. They're similar.

This is a pretty real injury for Yuujiro to suffer.

>until
That's the difference.
He used it.
Gil NEVER used Ea's Continent Buster tier blast on anyone ever. Ever

You say that but Doppo forced Yujiro to his knees back before he was blindingly super human. But that was back before Baki went all sorts of bullshit insane.

I really don't want to keep Fate in this thread, but can you provide a reference as to what you're talking about?

Pic related + a bloody nose is the heaviest injury that Doppo dealt to Yuujiro in that fight, but I do get your point.

>that was back before
Exactly. So imagine just how broken hands-mode really must be in order to do that kind of damage.

Well you could argue that if Doppo had the 'perfect' fist mode as well then he could have beaten Yujiro since it increased his power by a large margin.

Plus was that hands only mode or was that with the sword? I remember that hands only mode got blocked by memetobe jumping inbetween before it did anything but desu I can't remember much about the current stuff since its not interesting enough.

Same goes for Yuujiro having another year or whatever amount of time's worth of experience.

>Plus was that hands only mode or was that with the sword?
It was the hand. He got nicked on the other leg earlier with the sword, but it wasn't quite as big. Hands mode got in two full swings, and Motobe body-blocked the third.

Thanks mang, I'll check it out tomorrow.

I want to see Jack and Katsumi now that my boi Retsu is dead, but...
This guy is quite right. Baki is boring, and usually the main opponent is boring.

everyone is saying this is horrible writing, no surprise

How did Toba die?

An ebic battle against Igari Kanji. They were old friends and rivals, and the fight happens right after the Maximum Tournament, so it was a sort of "we've reached the peak of wrestling potential; let's find out once-and-for-all which of us is the strongest" sort of thing. It was *supposed* to be a private match between the two, but everyone in Japan inadvertently hears about it thanks to a blabbermouth janitor at Kourakuen, and the stadium is flooded with people by the time they actually get around to really fighting.

Igari had absolutely no intentions of killing Toba; in fact, I'm pretty sure he briefly cries over it. Toba simply pushed himself past every limit that both of them had, and that was the result. He left a letter to Igari post-mortem, talking about their careers together and friendship and such, and finally asks Igari to lead his funeral/memorial proceedings.

If you guys care enough, there is a small chance that we could scanlate that gaiden. But I'd need to see some serious support, given how much shit it would require to get done.

Hanada finally does what he was hyped to do and becomes the true Memetobe.

He suplexes Pickle from the top of a skyscraper while doing a Robin Special on Yujiro while Musashi suicides on his hands only style and Baki and Jack just give up fighting.

Igari stops being a mobster after that and actually gets an apprentice whos not a massive fucking wimp. He names him Toba 2: Neverhappeningboogaloo in honour of Toba.
