This series had so much potential. What happened?

This series had so much potential. What happened?

Alma Toran arc happened, and then '''politics''" eliminated any surviving trace of adventure

Nothing, retarded ADHD fags were just never the target for it

They made Sin'bad'

Story went retarded.

You have to admit it did experience a dip in quality after the summit.

Nothing. It simply never had potential.

Limit on how many dungeons one could clear
Dungeons falling way back into the background for bullshit war

Its kinda a joke that only 3 people have EVER cleared more than 2 dungeons with the cast of characters present. It was also kinda bullshit how Hakuryuu could just get a broken Djinn near the latter part of the manga. Like its just sitting there uncleared and boom its actually just broken

I can somehow see that it will be a similar case soon, where to beat Sinbad and co they need to just clear a few dungeons and get magically broken Djinns the author pulled out of his ass

Now that is grade-A bullshit. It had tons of potential. But then, so did many Shounen that ended up being forgotten and ignored. It's a very rare thing to have a Shounen series sustain the quality it has during its prime over a long-term period. Only FMA and HxH have managed to pull it off to my recollection.

Sinbad went from a fascinating enigma to a literal retard with a God complex.

The Djinns getting the shaft is one of my biggest gripes with the direction the series went. I actually enjoyed the political and economic aspects of the story, but for a story that originally focused on adventure, it can get a bit jarring over time. The only Djinns we've seen in over a year have been Sinbad's, and the ones belonging to everyone else are locked up and rusting away.

I hope the recent events lead to Aladdin finally erecting a dungeon for Alibaba to conquer. You say you're his Magi, then do your fucking job and act like one.

Nothing, its still great but fans did not like the constant theme switch the author does.

Time skip

I just wanna see Kouen again.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's not as good as it's best arcs right now but it's nowhere near as bad as it can get.
Especially with the most recent development.

needs less focus on politics, more on adventure.

less war, more dungeon clearing and interesting new djiins, enemies, towers, etc.

they've pretty much abandoned what got people interested in the concept.

>they've pretty much abandoned what got people interested in the concept.
Holy shit, this. Compare Magi from the Balbadd, Sindria, Zagan and Magnostadt arcs to Magi now and it's near-unrecognisable.

It honestly depends on how many people escaped Sinbad's control. If it's just those four, I can see the writing getting a little iffy. Four people can't take on the entire world.

Best girl was removed from the story so we could have more super kawaii yaoi pairings.

It stopped pandering to shonenpowerfight shits like you.

he showed up 2 chapter before

>It stopped pandering to shonenpowerfight
You've clearly been out of the loop if you really think that.

I want Magi S3 by Lay-duce ;_;

>Starts off as alluhaakbar shonen adventure shit. Djiins are devil fruit, chakra, bankai, fag power. Shonenfags happy. Series hints at Sinbad being the ultimate endboss, a quagmire between good and evil. Shonenfags still confused. Series starts broadly injecting muh politics and philosophy, free will, shit Shonenfags butthurt because no more djiin wet noodle fights after summit and world restructuring.

It's not the same genre as it was 100ch ago. If you want " i need more power/ he's fast", kill yourself and go read Black Clover. Otherwise, don't complain that the author is intentionally taking a different path with the story.

I mean it stopped being the main way for the plot to progress. There's still conflict, but it's rarely a multi-chapter "this isn't even my final form" fight shit anymore.

>people are still bumping this shit thread

Author fell into depravity.

More like powerlevels got capped by aladin sending anyone off the reality and ugo crushing sinbad.
So whats left is pretty much philosophy ect

>Sinbad conquers all known upper worlds and becomes the overlord for all levels of existence.
>breaches the final sacred palace
>kills author, rules the 3DPD world
>you will never live in Sinbad's utopia

Goddamn, you're a fucking retard. Calm down with your strawman bullshit before making a complete clown of yourself.

>doesn't add anything to the discussion, just "muh strawman, you're retarded"
what did i expect

What is there to add? People gave their reasons for why they feel the series has declined and you sperged out like a moron, being overly-insecure of the criticisms that were levied.

Like often it's because the author thought she could handle themes that are far too ambitious for her talent. lt was fun when it was a relatively grounded, human adventure story, the moment it started delving into parallel universes and gods and geopolitics it turned to shit.

Read my original post. I never defended where the series is currently headed. I just said "It's not what you were reading 100ch ago", and the stuff you liked isn't here anymore.

Why did they make Sinbad batshit crazy? He seemed like the ideal 'villain who makes a good point' and then just ruined it.

The only canon pairing in the story right now isn't even yaoi, what are you on about?

Probably in order to make the heroes easier to root for.

Because if he wasn't crazy he'd be right. The problem is that he has too good a point, he needs to do it in a batshit insane way or else he just wouldn't be a villain and the story would have nowhere to go.

You literally ignored the points of all the posts that you replied to and trivialised them by making up some substitute point that misdirects what those people actually meant. That's a texbook example of a strawman.

>HxH
Really? FMA, sure, but even if HxH wasn't stuck in limbo, it would hardly be the posterboy for consistency.

Fuck, you're right.

>Exams
Very good
>Zoldyck
OK
>Heaven's Arena
Good
>Yorkshin
Great
>Greed Island
Very good
>Chimera Ant
Great
>Election
Good
>Dark Continent
So far great.

The only dip in quality in HxH has been the Zoldyck arc. From there, it's been pretty smooth sailing and the series has maintained quality above a certain point. So, that's well over a decade's worth of consistency as of right now. Although, I guess it can be argued that the long-ass hiatuses are an attributing factor to HxH's prolonged period of good writing.

...

not phallic imagery at all

When an author as the artist decides to make two series at once, they tend to make the plot worse.

You ain't seen nothing yet.

Which is sad since no one gives a shit about the other series anyway.

>needs less focus on politics, more on adventure.
No, you're just 12

>less war, more dungeon clearing and interesting new djiins, enemies, towers, etc.
No, go read One Piece or some generic trash

>they've pretty much abandoned what got people interested in the concept.

Only retarded shonenbabbies

>Why did they make Sinbad batshit crazy?
>make

He was always like that you retarded fuck, read the manga and read HIS OWN FUCKING MANGA

Stop being a retard, please.

You know what I mean, faggot.

more like
>exams
good
>zoldyck
bad
>heaven's arena
alright
>yorkshin
very good
>greed island
bad
>chimera ant
great
>election
alright
