>character says "onee-chan"
>sub: "Yui"
Character says "onee-chan"
>character says something in japanese
>sub is english
>character says "Yui"
>sub: she
>character says "senpai"
>sub: "X-kun"
>character says "sankyuu"
>sub: thanks
still don't know why they do that
triggered
>character says "first name-chan"
>subs: only just "first name"
All of my hate.
>character says his or her full name
>first name first then surname
>character: "kisama"
>sub: "you fucking asshole bastard faggot"
>Character says onee-sama
>Dub turns it into "sissy"
new as109 when?
...
...
>character says "hnn"
>subs: "yes" "ok!" "let's go"
>Not preserving honorific translation.
Dropped
>dub translates tsundere to 'hot and cold'
>op talks about anime
>Posts art from as109
>Character says Japanese
>Subs is English
>character says itadakimasu
>subs: bon appetit
Great, you translated from one foreign language to another
...
...
こう… 行こう!
Eh?
That fucking bothered me so much during Kimi no Na wa
...
>Character talks in English
>Subs aren't in Japanese
COMMIEEEEEEE
>character says "hnn"
>subs: "yes"
That's exactly what that means
also it's 'un' you dumb faggot
>recording says "Ano wish you Christmas"
>missing subtitle
>Not using HorribleSubs
You asked for this.
>character speaks in nearly incomprehensible Engrish
>there are no subs for that part
but horriblesubs is shit
But it isn't.
>love interest uses -kun after MC's last name
>sub only uses MC's last name
>several episodes later, MC asks her to drop the -kun
>subbers face when
>character says "onee-chan"
>sub says "sister"
>tfw fansubs are dead now
>character says ONE word
>subs are a whole paragraph of unrelated dialogue
That doesn't really matter because japs also wouldn't understand it
Either way, look for subs that aren't fucking shit, you retard.
>character says itadakimasu
>sub: "rub a dub dub thanks for the grub"
Damn shame.
>That moment when you realize that gg switched from seriously subbing the series to releasing a troll episode.
I made it to KFC before it hit me. My moonspeak knowledge was so weak back then.
...
>character talks for whole 15 seconds
>Subs are 3 words.
I miss fansubs
Soon
>Eclipse is dead and will never sub Code Geass season 3
I am interested in these mass naked child events.
>mass naked child events
Is 3 going to be her willingly getting fucked? because that's not what I read as109 for
>fansubbing is dead
thats just fine
>Original word is literally the Jap word for newfag
>Sub says Noobies
>character speaks in English
>the English subtitles say something else
...
>filename
kek
>stop speaking so formally with me
Ez.
I d-don't get it
...
But it's good.
>tl notes contain supplementary information that has nothing to do with the Japanese language or culture.
>it's fucking wrong
I don't need you to explain french cooking techniques or Greek mythologies to me that the Japanese audience probably didn't even know themselves. I also know how to use google. Your job is to translate Japanese to English.
>give me an feeling so complicated
Every fucking time!
>tl note: explaining what a japanese word means instead of just translating it in the subs
>characters speak japanese
>the sub doesn't translate each word literally, one by one, resulting in a bizarre unintelligible jumble
It's called wasei-eigo and it's not really english.
Of course it tastes like ass. Fucking Pepsi!
Why do people like this game?
>good
It just tastes like a disappointing float
yeah, we have pros now
That's why he has that look of disgust in the fifth panel! And then regret at what could have been!
It's a Coca Cola glass!
More like a safe, unexciting bet.
How the fuck
...
Are you not familiar with Shisogapo?
For the memes, not saying it's good but it ends up being fun and unpretentious.
If you're wondering why they don't translate it as "Thank you" it's because thank you is pretty formal in English, relatively speaking, while sankyuu is incredible casual, which thanks conveys. It's like asking why "manshon" doesn't get translated as mansion. It's because the word means condominium in Japanese.
>This body is exactly that of Venus!
That's a pretty shitty line. It should be "She has a body just like Venus!"
I wish he did more vanilla art or at least solo stuff.
I like his art style a lot but I don't want to feel horrible when I jack off.
>no fansubbers pick up a show I want to watch
>have to use funi rips.
I doubt the accuracy of these figures.
It's not the text I have a problem with. It's the way it's presented.
But yeah, where's "at your computer looking at porn"?
Yeah I don't miss shit translations and having to wait days for them, but I do miss typesetting, I wish crunchy and funi would take some time to make them not shit
>At the roof
>only 0.5%
This is wrong, it was at least 30% of us up there.
>I like his art style a lot but I don't want to feel horrible when I jack off.
There's plenty of good vanilla artists as is though, it's nice having an artist who draws hardcore stuff that isn't ntrshit
Thanks for the lengthy explanation but it was just a joke. I've seen instances where the translator somehow has the brilliant idea of translating 'sankyuu' as 'muchas gracias', though. On an official translation.
I've seen it as "danke" before. I'm okay with that one.
>but it was just a joke
I had a feeling, but I thought "what the fuck, why not" and decided to explain it anyway because I have nothing else to do on a Tuesday night.
>danke
Had to look that up. It's worse than spanish because it's easier for an english native to know a basic spanish line than a basic german one.
>subs below is not "Keikaku doori"
How do they manage to make subs so shitty? Did they skip basic japanse grammar?
>he doesn't already know danke to begin with
>character says "Yui-dono"
>sub: "Yui-kun"
>character says "Yui-chan"
>sub: "Yui-san"
How do you not know danke? German shit is referenced all the time in american media
>it's easier for an english native to know a basic spanish line than a basic german one
English is literally a Germanic language. Fuck "danke" even sounds like "thanks".
It's a mystery. How do they manage to make the picture so shitty?
>Had to look that up.
What, why?
>san
>mr
They learned japanese the same way japs learn english, basic grammar then focusing only on vocabulary
日本語を学べばいいのに
>character says monsieur
>subs say "san"
I don't know about cola, but rootbeer would probably taste pretty good. Like a melted float but slightly less sweet.
I refuse to believe that's an actual thing.
This is what I get for being ESL
