According to Japanese fans I've spoken to, Diamond is Unbreakable is the worst JoJo part and Part 5 is infinitely superior to it.

Just goes to show how fucking shit most anime this year is.

Nips have shit taste.

Part 4 is not the worst but it's seriously overrated. Part 5 is great and some people and having a change of heart because of the new translations.

That's the common Japanese perspective. Worst Jojo is between DiU and SO though

I've heard from nip-speaking gaijin that part 5 has very literature-savvy dialogues with deep vocabs and stuff that adds to the experience. In scanlation, there are couple of things that are lost in translation.

I've heard they like parts 4 and 5, and hate 6.

3 > 5 > 7 > 4 > 2 > 6 > 8 > 1

votecloud.jp/polls/view/97

Seems like they enjoyed 3, 4 and 5 the most.

>1 vote for Stone Ocean
I knew nips hate it but goddamn.
At least JJL seems to be really well liked.

それはどうかな。:-)

does 5 have good scans and translations yet? i don't give a fuck about pizza gangster jojo and just want to get to jolyne, but the last time i checked scans were shit

Nah 4 is pretty well liked in Nipland, and 6 isn't hated it's just where the series started dropping in popularity because Araki decided to write to a slightly older audience but still publish in WSJ so no one read it because his target audience didn't read WSJ. Same with 7 but it switched magazines and wasn't named JoJo for six months so even less people read it. Part 8 is reviewing a lot better than either 6 or 7 though, and thanks to the anime the series is getting popular again so 8 is selling well in addition to reviewing well.

There's like 30 chapters left to retranslate which isn't bad out of a 155 chapter Part. Unfortunately those are the chapters where things get batshit and the bad translations completely butchered.

There's 3 volumes left that haven't been retranslated.

What are the best scans? Where to read em?

JoJo's Coloured Adventure scans on Batoto. They're the first to do a good BW translation of 5 despite the name, but they have another 30 chapters left which is basically just the end of the second last fight then the finale left to translate.

Well, for something with Bizarre Adventure in the title, part 4 definitively doesn't have much adventuring

it was pretty bizarre though

Honestly my favorite JoJo parts go somewhat like 1>3>7>2>8(so far)>6>4>5

I feel as though I am one of the three people who likes part 1 the most and part 5 the least, but still.

Faggotry and a shit animation style compared to SC doesn't equal bizarre user

oh you're that 1 dude who thinks Jonathan is the best JoJo, Sup dumbass.

what's wrong with jonathan
he's a nice guy who fights for justice. a bit vanilla but that's not a problem

The problem is he's too vanilla.

No one hates him they just like the others more because they have more to offer.

okay but what about jotaro
he doesn't communicate much and just gives occasional 1 liners. if it weren't for the fact that part 3 introduced stands he wouldn't be so popular

He's edgy, that gets him a few fans
His Stand is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful
Straight up looks interesting, design-wise, I mean
He killed DIO, who not even Jonathan could kill

He's my least favorite Jojo, only tied with Jolyne, but he does have some good points.

I think the answer is that the only choice for best JoJo is Joseph.

Are you people really that stupid? Part 4 is the worst so far!
Hey let's take everything interesting in parts 2 and 3 like motives for the henchmen, a great and interesting main cast, great stands, great fights, epic final battle, and great and atmospheric scenery, and throw them out the fucking window!
Koichi is the most boring, and most shitbag character in jojo so far, and okuyasu and josuke have little to no character at all!

Kira > Dio

That bait is embarrassing, friend.

Jolyne's pretty great too. She's like a mix of Joseph and Jotaro that starts off naive.

1 > 2 > 5 > 7 > 4 > 6 > 8 probably > 3

Them's fighting words. Part 1 best part because of Dio and Jonathan.

7 > 4 > 5 > 8 > 2 > 3 > 1
This is the objectively correct tier list of Jojo parts.

6 is so garbage it doesn't get included.

Literally all JoJo's fight for justice

>cripple>engrish>espangrish>4balls>OHNO>yareyare>bestpart

user...

His character is entirely reactionary.
He never really does anything himself, pretty much all of his actions are responses to Dio's actions.

Bait thread to attract newfags.

>mfw i saw a jojo video and you are literally saying what they said word for word

I forgot the video but god damn user stop being a fucking sheep, form your own opinions

Jonathan isn't a bad jojo, it's just that he's plain in comparison to newer jojos that have more complexities and depth to them. It largely has to do with the fact that Araki's writing has improved vastly since Part 1.

HE

I really want to love part 5 but the b&w scans are hard to follow visually and the color scans are full of obnoxious wordart-tier bubble text

Also Narancia's kind of a bitch, does he ever get more likable?

>HE

I just think it's such a wasted opportunity each part not having flashbacks and more direct references to the previous parts. DIO's World could be full of Part 1 references for instance, though I'm a sucker for that kind of things

?
I got that from Araki's own writing about Jonathan.

"Jonathan is passive, reacting to Dio's various attacks, and this leads to him discovering his way of life." -Araki (Vol. 1 of JoJonium)

pls stop my dick can only handle so much

>b&w scans are hard to follow visually
they're not

Ohhhh nvm I remember now it was a character analysis or something and they quoted it I think.

Sorry user, haven't slept in a while

Jotaro's crappy one liners are my favorite thing about him. You can tell he wants desperately to be seen as edgy and cool. I'm willing to bet half the shit he told Kakyoin he did was exaggerated.

"Yeah, I totally beat up that teacher for talking smack. Everyone in the class cheered for me too."

To be fair its pretty damn great. Stand powers for the Rock People are also really cool, especially Vitamin C.

I fucking love his design in 4 with the white coat.

literally
7>5>4>6>2>8>3>1 or GTFO

This. Jotaro is that the equivalent of a kid irl who moved to a new school, and was bullied so hard at his old one that he resolves to make a new image for himself simply by acting the part. It's sad, but it's also kind of cool when he starts living up to it.

He's bad ass I suppose. He's cool, calm, and rational and the rational part of his personality gets more emphasis in later parts as he's aged. He's great in Part 4, for example.

He grows on you.

>8 that low
>6 that high

Death upon you and your descendants.

7>5>4>8(so far)>6>2>3>1

Probe me wrong

When I first got to part 3, Jotaro was my least favorite JoJo all the way up to nearly the end of part 6. (that's saying something, I fucking hate Giorno as a character, he's bland as shit and has little to no development) However, from parts 3, 4, and 6, you can see an actual change. Jotaro does get more rational and more cold, seemingly, but he lets down his wall gradually.

In part 3, Jotaro barely talks, only saying "Yare yare daze" or talking to the enemy about how he forsaw a trap and made another one or something. The most emotion we get out of him in that part is when he finally loses his cool when he sees Joseph die, and when he smiles on the plane at the picture of the Crusaders. Given, those are both very emotional moments, I honestly teared up at the photo and felt some of Jotaro's rage; I honestly do identify with the guy, I keep most of my emotions inside of me, but sometimes things get too intense and I can't manage that anymore, and that's what happened with him.

In part 4, we see Jotaro actually talk more, actively seeking conversation in some instances, even a little less intimidating in some aspects. In part 6, however, is when this all gets really noticeable.

In part 3, at the beginning at least, Jotaro seems just as, if not more, reactionary than even Jonathan; he sees that his mother is in trouble so he decides "whelp I'm just gonna follow these guys to Egypt." In part 6, he is the opposite, actively trying to help his daughter, and even completely letting go of the emotional barrier at the end of his life and telling Jolyne that he "always cherished her".

That's why I and many people like Jotaro, in my view.

Just finished part 5, already started reading part 6

4>3>2>5>1 for me right now

Jotaro's bio actually explains that he isn't really cool, just autistic.

My personal ranking goes 5>7>4>1>6>2>3. I love 8 so far but it doesn't feel fair to rank it.

Can't you just share opinions and argue like decent people instead of simply putting shit like "probe me wrong xD" and "this is objective" in the end of your post and acting high and mighty about it? Shit posting is fun but this is just retarded.

>The most emotion we get out of him in that part is when he finally loses his cool when he sees Joseph die, and when he smiles on the plane at the picture of the Crusaders.
I suggest going back and rewatching/rereading SDC and tallying how many times Jotaro smiles or shows emotion.
I did it as a joke and was surprised when realizing he does it about once or twice per episode.

>Hates women who dont shut up
The best part of his character

5 and 7 interchangeable >8>4>6>3>2>1
i really wanted to love 6 but some of those battles, jfc they were extreme low parts where even 2 or 1 outshone them

I said the MOST emotion, not including that kind of thing. Surprise doesn't count as a a major emotion in my opinion, that's the one he shows the most of. Also, most of his smiles are sarcastic or taunting, if you pay attention to the context.

Poor bait. Japan loves Part 4.

Pretty much Parts 3-4-5 is their holy Jojo trinity.

Do they not like part 7?

can someone please explain to me the extreme abundance of jojo bird artwork

7 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 5 > 3 > 2

>"He never shows emotion"
>"Those times where he shows emotion doesn't count"
Besides, even with those rules, there's still a lot of moments where he shows emotion that people don't mention.

His 'silent and cool' approach comes off as snarky and lame. Part 4 shows that he shines as a support. He also got one of the most powerful stands in the series that eventually becomes bland compared to the later stands, Star Platinum aged like milk. But nothing can be worse than Giorno, who's barely got spotlight in his own Part and acts like a plank of wood in character interactions after the beginning arcs.

You're right, but you have to admit these kinds of things are rare with him in part 3.

>most Japanese JoJo part
>Japan hates it
>one of the least Japanese JoJo parts
>Japan loves it

Even Japan hates Japan.

I'm going to assume Part 5 hits you over the head with its message about playing the shit hand fate deals you regardless of what language you read it in. Nothing like a good old fashioned prosing shonen speech about fate, friendship and willpower.

Yeah, he shows the least positive emotion out of all the JoJos (except maybe Early-Mid SBR Johnny). That i'll agree with.
But as I said, you'd be surprised how much he does show emotion if you pay close attention.

pic related on my response

Well.... Yeah? Dio does something bad and Jonathan checks him. The part would've been infinitely worse if for example, Jonathan was trying to get Dio kicked out from the ages of 15-18 or whatever the graduation/mask scene age was.

Eh, the major point of my post was that he develops a lot more emotionally throughout the parts than most people think

Johnny's was kinda more reasonable aside from the same face since he had lived a very shitty life and that caused him to be the negative person that he was during the start of SBR unlike Jotaro whom we didn't know about why he is like that that much.Although I still like Jotaro as much as I love every jojo.

I know.
I was just pointing out that he isn't actually cold in SDC. He just has trouble expressing himself (See )

Jotaro and Kakyoin definitely fucked after they got done beating that stand user

>he shows the least positive emotion out of all the JoJos
Giorno only smiles once or twice after he joins the gang. The OP image is the last time he smiles for a while.

You don't have to smile to show positive emotion.

>putting 3 anywhere near the top
What the fuck, man? Did you drink the hype koolaid?
It's the goddamn DBZ Namek arc with more midboss villains.

I'm sorry you autistically compare everything to DBZ
must be a tough life

>japan has shit taste
>learning this only now
What are you, new?

They appreciate 1 and 3 as classics, 2 got a new surge of popularity with the anime, 4 is well liked, 5 is the favourite by far, 6 is kind of lukewarm.

I don't know how they feel about 7 and 8 but since they're the two best parts so far I'd hope they like them.

>you must be autistic to not like the neverending stream of bullshit that happens so that one dude can save his mother

Part three suffers immensely under its pacing. It is popular and is the poster boy for Jojo but really it's not anywhere near the overall series' best.

SBR is pretty well liked but it was less popular than any other part, including SO.
It's mainly due to it 1. Not originally being a JoJo part, and 2. Transferring from Shonen Jump to Ultra Jump in the middle of publication.

JJL is surprisingly popular and well liked.

Post your Jojo reaction pics

There is literally nothing wrong with the Namek arc and neither is there anything objectively wrong with Part 3.

...

Wasn't it also because for the first 6 months of SBR it wasn't confirmed to be part 7? That might explain why it flew under everyone's radar.

>Wasn't it also because for the first 6 months of SBR it wasn't confirmed to be part 7?
Reread my first point.

>let me poorly sum up the entire plot of part 3
>let me complain about pacing in a shounen adventure
>a 16 volume shounen adventure

You're just being autistic now. No one here is going to think you're cool.

>""
It's almost like you have no idea how greentexting works

It's almost like the jojo fanbase is full of newfags these days.
