Why do you like edgy MCs?
Why do you like edgy MCs?
Depends, is their edge justified?
So long as it is I don't mind but finding a justified edgelord is hard
Their retardation can be entertaining, as opposed to moralfag MCs.
Are there edgy moralfag MCs?
If you give me to option to choose between the edgy MC #512 or a generic dense MC #58273598236798727, I take the edgy MC.
I like some variety in my MCs.
Because I identify with them more easily.
this
if the character is just being an ass for as sake, "because not being an ass is naive", or being an ass to people that don't deserve it then I won't really like the MC
but if the MC is fucking over a character that deserves every bit of it. I cherish every moment
>Villain kills MC's family
>MC goes to kill Villain
>IF YOU KILL YOUR ENEMIES YOU LOSE
>Moral dilemma ensues
>MC kills his own family before the villain could
>ancient evil that is random legend did some random shit to fuckfacefaggotass living in the country that killed his family but not baby MC
>MC is somehow the ONLY one to remember this baby memory
>MC always mad and pushes everyone away but everyone is still his friend including some qt
>MC some how makes every friend imaginable even though he tells everyone how mad he is and doesn't need them
>Friends stick by him because "we need him to defeat the BigBadDildoDragon" that all had similar accidents but all seem to keep their cool
>MC defeats and learns the power of friendship in the final fight completely becoming another character
>MC is edgy because his brother/sister/friend is doing something he doesn't agree with
>Said person MC doesn't agree with is actually more reasonable than anything the MC is doing
>MC punches enemies back to reality
Chinese MCs are mostly edgy and have large boner for massacre.
They portray characters in a more realistic manner.
I don't watch anime for realism
This. Most historical figures were extreme edgelords.
I guess Ken could technically be called that, but he's far too respectable and manly to be seen as either. Ken is just Ken.
Sometimes the edge is pure fun and is just part of the character which they grow out from once they accomplish what they want, like Hakuryuu from Magi
Another type I like would the kind which is never shown to be edge but one one page you just realise he is. No transformation or triggered or shit. Like Shun from Kamisama no Iutoori
The change in pace is nice, seeing the same thing over and over again gets tiring
