I finished Robotics;Notes earlier today. I thought it was damn good, and it's the first 2+ cours anime since Shinsekai Yori that I've watched in one sitting. Can we have a thread about this? While it wasn't as good as Steins;gate, I thought the characters were well done and that the entire series was a beautiful love letter to super robot shows of yore.

One question though, what was Airi's role in Kimijima's grand plan? And was the committee of 300 involved in his plan?


Also, why were normalfags buttblasted about Gunvarrel's last episode? I thought it would have made for an epic finale to a long running series. The ending felt like pure anime kino.

I got this show mostly because I loved Real Drive and it looked similar. And because I like genki girls. But I have yet to try it.

It was a depressing ending to an otherwise "hype"-driven over the top optimistic mecha show. You don't just replace the ending of Gurren Lagann with Evangelion's for example, it'd be a big whiplash and alienating.

Yea, I started the thread yesterday. Stayed up from ~7pm to 7am this morning, and crashed afterwards.

I see where you're coming from, although, I've always wanted to make show that would do that. Plus, the ending sounded like something from a late 70s/early 80s mecha anime. You know, the ones written by though were either children during or were born right after the Second World War, and so either grew up with the trauma or saw the trauma from interacting with parents or older siblings.

It's probably a good idea to play it but I doubt it's obligatory. Watching is a bad idea though, the adaptation was trash.

It really is a shame how the adaptation and the source were both marred by poor pacing and heavy company pressure to produce the next cash cow.

Please play the VN. The adaptation does not exist.　I'd recommend you play C;H since the events of C;C are directly caused by what happens in C;H.

Its so sad that both this show and Real Drive had really high budgets for anime. And both had low ratings/BD sales. Its things like this that give anime companies reason to just skimp on the budget of most shows.

Well, R;N did got little bit of continuation in the manga, even though it takes place in another worldline for some reason.

R;N got a fuckload of manga spin-offs right off the bat for the same reason it got an anime greenlit before the game was even out. They were really confident about it.

Chaos;Child has had only two manga since it came out and it took a while. Even S;G0 hasn't had any manga yet. In fact, S;G0 is responsible for the cancellation of the Pandora manga.

They baited strongly with boobs in the first episode but hardly at all in most of the following episodes. O;9 was good as a SciADV megamix lite.

I didn't really like where the show went. The whole reason Aki's sister was such a bitch seemed like a really unsatisfying pay off.

Best girl kinda won though. Frau is still adorable.
