It's been 2017 for over 12 hours though. Get with the times.

It's not Oda's style, obviously, but I sort of want Sanji to just break this arc. Like he's still holding hope as the arc ends, and in one final fuck you Pudding blows Sanji's hands off, and laughs about it. And then all that cool, all those convictions collapse as he kicks her into a pulp and they have to drag the screaming sobbing mess that is Sanji off of her, to lie beat up in the wreckage of Totto Land.

Sure, Chopper gets the hands reattached, but the damage was extensive, so getting them working properly could take months, and he has to let someone else cook for him, or at least stick to basic recipes while he tries. And he's just a shell of himself. He's not fawning over girls, or getting upset when people don't like his food. His spark is just snuffed out this next arc, and all he can do is deliver some hard nameless kicks and let the others work their magic.

So we get these moments where Nami is working with him, cooking under his tutelage and trying to help, and that builds them in a more respectable manner as Sanji recovers. Nami starts learning new temperature tricks and special situational stuff with her cooking, and Sanji starts getting his passion back through teaching, until he grows into a more seasoned chef.

I mean, I expect this to be a sappy wrap-up, but if we are going to build Nami and Sanji, I'd like it to be something with more than 'after the 100th plead, I relented', and more of a 'I saw him at his most hopeless, and I realized why I wanted him to be who he was again'.

I would be crying if my lighter stopped working too.

It just seems to be one of Jinbe's more advanced fishman abilities. He is the only one shown to be able to manipulate water so well too, aside from Hody who could only do it on the roids.
