No one was charged with talking to Russians. Flynn was charged with lying to the FBI. You can't lie to the FBI about anything at all ever period end of story the end. That's just a special thing the FBI has because they are the goddamn secret police. They get to know everyone's secrets when they are assigned to investigate a case. The big question here is "Did Flynn actually literally lie to the FBI, or are partisans simply intent on enforcing a certain meaning to his words that supports their dumb 'Evil Russia' narrative?" Yeah, the latter is most likely the case, but the FBI can keep this shit going for years, and Flynn likely just wants this thing behind him so the investigation isn't fucking up Washington for Trump's entire term.
