You dont even need feet

A lot of them do have degrees in Criminal Justice, I don't think at most departments that this is required, they do it to be able to move up the ranks easier.

Most of them want to move up to detective and shit.

I don't think at most departments you need a college degree to become a cop.

I’d become a police officer if I just worked in the fucking office all day.

In most departments, you need at least an AA.
Corrections usually do not, however

I don't think so. A friend of mine tried out for the RCMP and said the worst part was the PARE test. I'm told most forces use them. I hope you're fit, user

Not in Washington state. You start out at 60k+ a year too. It's a good gig and not that hard to get if you're not a complete fuck up or fat.

He's not a retard leaf cop. Basically all departments here require at least a 2 year degree, but there is a lot of competition in certain areas so you'll need military experience and a 4 year degree.

It depends on the LE organization, AA is common but some of the backwood agencies are ok with HS;
If you want to try fed, you need either military service and and undergrad degree OR you need an MBA/JD/MD/DO or some other comparable graduate degree.

I was going to apply, but the background check/polygraph asks if I've ever "watched anime, or pornography featuring minors."

I didn't know how degenerate anime appears to normies.

Federal Law enforcement requires some sort of degree. Regular law enforcement only requires a high school education, college degrees obviously help in many situations though. I'm working on a criminal justice degree so I may be able to be promoted to investigative work quicker or move onto federal law enforcement after a couple years on the force.

Don't do it user it like 24/7 nigger wrangling. They smell horrible and their stupid talking will give your ears cancer.

>featuring minors.
that's the key part of the question

Clearly it's different in the US. I stand corrected. My friend did not have a degree when applying for the RCMP.

Anime featuring minors? Like pokemon?

You need a B.S. in being an arrogant dickhead but the classes aren't hard.

If you had to babysit adult children 12 hours a day you'd have a shitty outlook too.

Police departments discriminate based on IQ.

They don't let anyone smarter than a certain level become a cop.

They SAY, that this is to "Prevent them from getting bored"... but it's more likely that they do it so that the police are easier to manipulate.

It depends. I'd recommend it, but I know a guy who became a U.S. Marshal in 2009 after four years with the local sheriff, where he was hired at 21 with no education beyond high school and no employment experience beyond working on his father's farm and at his father's gas station. On the other hand, my brother needed a degree just to apply for the FBI. This was two years ago, and they wouldn't even consider applicants who didn't hold a bachelor's. And I knew another guy when I was in the National Guard who couldn't get hired beyond being a community servce officer at a medium-sized department until he finished his degree.

In order to be a beat cop? No. Federal agencies like the FBI usually require at least a Bachelor's, though.
I talked to my local police chief, and he said the three main ways people get hired in his department is if they possess a degree in Criminal Justice, have a military background, or if they've worked in Corrections.
Hiring can be very competitive, even for small town departments, so you will generally want to possess one of the above three if you want a good chance of being hired... you have to remember that you'll likely be competing against a bunch of veteran cops who don't need to be trained. Convince them you're worth the hassle of training.

No, and if you do you're wasting time and money.

I go to school where the law enforcement program is the biggest program on campus. More than half those people will not do anything past the traffic cop level. If you're going to get a degree in law enforcement you better be doing investigative work.

4 years in academy, and 4 to 12 years for specialization. How come?
