Wicker Man shouldn't do shit to Alter thanks to magic resistance, and Archer should have raped Cu the moment they went melee, he killed Heracles several times and was able to fight the true Cu who had much better stats and weapon.
Not to mention how shitty they made Excalibur Morgan look.

Archer only got him in that hold because Archer also thought he was seeing a few moves ahead by throwing Kansho, but it turns out he was outplayed. Even when Archer went for the kill he couldn't do it, and it was revealed that Cu was prepping the entire situation. He was never in danger there definitively, he wasn't caught, he was gaming the situation.

Hell, I don't even know how to create a metaphor for what you just said. Its just "Well you were pretending to be down, but but I definitely won even though I didn't because I was sure I won at that one point when it turns out you were tricking me. Even though when I actually tried to go for the kill I realized I was never in control. No fair, doesn't count, I won because I thought I had it for a moment even when it was revealed I didn't".

He did surpass her. Even in Fate lore, she only got better because she trained after he beat her ass and even then, sometimes when they fought, he beats her.

Her magic resistance is lower than normal Saber's, and Wickerman isn't even a magic attack. He's not blasting her with magic, he's invoking the Druid's cursed idol to immolate her with itself as an offering for god. Its damage is pretty straight forward and physical. It just kills by fire.

Cause Order's fights are derived from an rpg where one blasts through a batch enemies one after another. He killed Rider, Assassin, not-Rider, Archer, and Saber Fucking Alter back to back with ease; straight up impossible feats if in any other medium.

Still, they could have gone for a double kill in Archer vs. Cu, and have the MC boost the shit out of Mashu with command spells. Or at least clarify that the servants were nerfed.

Despite people memeing UBW its not that good in most situations. Takes a long time to get up, uses all his prana fast, its said that a master of their craft unlike Gilgamesh would be able to counter it, and other issues. Archer has always suited more towards pulling out individual items and using those one at a time like he was doing.

Crane Wing was pointless to use, that's a formation attack that he saves for fighting monsters. This wasn't a monster, this was someone he thought he could beat, until it turned out he couldn't. He thought he understood Cu, Archer was arrogant though. Caster Cu's abilities were too different from what he thought he knew about the guy. Crane Wing also doesn't work unless you can perfectly read the opponent in several ways. Alters are filled with bloodlust which probably ranks down his insight.

Also Cu can just poof away his weapons using his magic, crane wing relies on a four attack pincer move which wouldn't work in so many ways. But its also just unlikely his alter self would use it since its suited towards a calm skilled user, rather than Alter.
