The church carries with it the greatest of human stories in its 2000-year-old history: The story of the saints, the champions and role models of the Christian faith. This first section will be on them and the second will be other links.

it's true. there are a lot of single mothers at church. their value has plummeted since having kids, so they're willing to settle for a beta (i.e. "find a good man who wants to be a father to her children")

Aw, yeah. This i are the threads I like.

Friendly reminder liberal catholic theologians get the rope for being Enlightement's slaves.

I've never really understood the point of making this a Catholic general and not a Christian one. The Pagans do not call theirs an "Odin General".

...

...

Just MAN up and marry a reformed church whore

It's like if they did a separate Greek Paganism and Nordic Paganism threads

I'm ready for them to try.

...

Precisely. Should this general not include all Christian denominations?

Hahahahaahahahah

...

...

Currently a no-go. Current Vatican leadership having a hush-hush political struggle between traditionalists and liberals.

It started as Christian Generals but denominational in-fighting was very frustrating for the people in it and Catholics wiped the floor each time anyway so refocusing was an attempt to solidify discussion. However also to not give room to heresy.

fake news

All this is false.

>sits on thrones of gold and jewels, carries around gold and silver staves while preaching help the poor, help the needy
This is partially true but pic related.

Reminder that there is no such thing as "liberal Catholic" or "conservative Catholic," there are just those who believe the Church's teaching and those who don't from either side of the political spectrum (Jesuits and Sedes)

are orthodox welcome or will you alienate us and antagonize so that the muslims and jews win again?

I view the Catholic/Orthodox split as one of the most visible reminders of the sundering of the Roman Empire, but I'm also a huge Romaboo who thinks the schism will some day be undone. As far as I'm concerned you're welcome, but I can't speak for the thread at large.

Why are protestants in America obsessed about catholics?

You are welcome. We can solve differences, but we need allies to fight kikes, muzzies and prots.

Is it wrong for me to be embarrassed to be a Jesuit-educated Catholic ever since Francis became Pope?

The reasons for that are from American history rather than purely theological disputes. The US was founded as a complete rejection of the British crown, including the Church of England and the very notion of a single state religion, but kept the traditional English distrust of Catholic nations (France, Scotland, Ireland, etc.). In the 1800s, immigrants from those Catholic nations flooded into the US and scared the old English stock shitless. Catholics were so distrusted that we didn't have a Catholic President until JFK in 1960, but white Catholics have largely been accepted now.

In the past few decades, Catholicism in the US is associated more and more with savage Aztec mud people who want to destroy the USA, but who are at least nominally Christian unlike the other savage mud people who want to destroy the USA.

SSPX OR BUST!

Nice.

Is she...dare I say it..../OurLady/?

why does Mary have the stars around her head in many catholic paintings?

Hey, protestant here with the serious wish to convert. How do I proceed and what should I be aware of that I can be sure to be in a good congregation. I sincerely wish to be part of a traditional and conservative church. I believe in the bible and Jesus Christ. I dont want any kind of watered down "muh the bible is about allegories" kind of protestant preaching. I want the word of God and spiritual teacher.

Is that Augustus as Pontifex Maximus?

...

yeah i'm happy too. As long as you don't mess with our lands and our peoples, you're good and we will work with yall.

PS I've met some autistic catholics who would bully me into converting to catholicism, that's why i'm asking.

Revelation 12.

Augustus was Pontifex Maximus. So was Constantine the Great and all emperors up to Theodosius I.

Catholicism is Imperial Roman Paganism in disguise

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanism

Catholics claim power through (forged)donations of Constantine a lifelong pagan.

Pagan mandated Trinitarianism established at the council of nicaea, which sound awfully familiar to past triple deity

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_deity

catholicism is but the cult of cybele(queen of heaven)

Jeremiah 7:18: The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.

The Romans claimed descent from Trojan Aeneas and Venus(Isis).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_of_heaven_(antiquity)

These myths are reflected in history in several ways.

One modern Romans adopted worship of Cybele from Sybelline Oracles in it's war ith Carthage.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybele

Romans gained Pergamon in Asia Minor where Troy once stood

not through war, but through a will on the Death of Attalus III.

This is where Caesar gained the right to be declared a god as Pontifex Maximus. The origin of this privileged stems from Babylonian/Chaldean mysteries. not Christianity.

Roman Catholicism just makes Christianity palatable to pagans and unifies an empire politically as the Roman state was sacrosanct.

meming that you're the one true church through peter is just advertising.
And killing off all competitor christian sects like Arians and Nontrinitarians is just good business.

"render unto Caesar, what is Caesars"

Yes I couldn't help it I wanted to share. The most recent fashwave thread has a bunch of great stuff

this pic is magnificent

contributing my own byzantine collection

Well Im sorry to hear that but I'm just letting you know that many Orthodox have been rather unsavory in the past. I thnk they have something to prove.

>Catholicism is Imperial Roman Paganism in disguise
Pre-"second council of the Vatican" was like that

Modern Catholicism is cultural marxism in disguise. It deserves to die.

Have another bro

That's not what I asked.

Why use Augustus for your Christian thread?

theres anglican catholics
but your not from england so
im not sure what would suit ya

...

i hear that a lot from many. I attribute it to the fact that most english-speaking orthodox are converts and much more ... zealous. I'm born into it, so it's harder to convert me but i'm also not as hard line as them.

...

Also here's this thing on Stoicism. Some redditoers have been pushing that Marcus Aurlius wasnt a persecutor of teh Church. IF you have questions on that this is here, if not no need to read it since it's so long.

Because I think it looks cool

That makes sense

...

Catholic theology makes absolutely no sense.

Baptizing babies, works based salvation... what in the world is all of this stuff. Not in the Bible that's for sure.

Marcus Aurelius persecuted Christians only for political reasons. One must realize that no ruler rules alone.

Eh poltically it was not in his favor. Too many Christians had won over sympathizers among unbelievers. He had to be a bit more sneaky than other Emperors to do what he wanted. Meditations reveals that he personally found Christianity destructive the the Empire

No deal.

>Because I think it looks cool

It is certainly not Christian. Please do not desecrate or dishonor Augustus or Rome with such garbage.

...

Hey hey I quoted Cicero here extensively, MANY church fathers have quoted Seneca extensively. The French kings had many pagan sculptures. Its just for the memes

what a stupid bastard. but church is a good place to find betas that will raise a niglet in return for protected sex with a 30yo 6.5/10 once a month.

>works based salvation
Good thing Catholics don't believe in that.

From the Vatican webpage:

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping and calling us to good works“(JD 15)

Certainly, "whatever in the justified precedes or follows the free gift of faith is neither the basis of justification nor merits it“ (JD 25).

Unfortunately it is such a TRADITION OF MEN for Protestant so oppose "the false gospel of works based salvation of ROME" that Protestants will never admit that Rome doesn't teach works based salvation, anyway.

Heres a Christian one theres plenty of those too.

OY VEEY

you're right. Pelagianism is a heresy in the Catholic Church.

...

That's news to me... then why do you teach sacraments and no salvation outside of the catholic church etc. if you don't believe in works based salvation. Makes no sense.

found this

This sibyl of Erythræ; certainly wrote some things concerning Christ which are quite manifest

Ι Judgment shall moisten the earth with the sweat of its standard,
Η Ever enduring, behold the King shall come through the ages,
Σ Sent to be here in the flesh, and Judge at the last of the world.
Ο O God, the believing and faithless alike shall behold You
Υ Uplifted with saints, when at last the ages are ended.
Σ Seated before Him are souls in the flesh for His judgment.
Χ Hid in thick vapors, the while desolate lies the earth.
Ρ Rejected by men are the idols and long hidden treasures;
Ε Earth is consumed by the fire, and it searches the ocean and heaven;
Ι Issuing forth, it destroys the terrible portals of hell.
Σ Saints in their body and soul freedom and light shall inherit;
Τ Those who are guilty shall burn in fire and brimstone for ever.
Ο Occult actions revealing, each one shall publish his secrets;
Σ Secrets of every man's heart God shall reveal in the light.
Θ Then shall be weeping and wailing, yea, and gnashing of teeth;
Ε Eclipsed is the sun, and silenced the stars in their chorus.
Ο Over and gone is the splendor of moonlight, melted the heaven,
Υ Uplifted by Him are the valleys, and cast down the mountains.
Υ Utterly gone among men are distinctions of lofty and lowly.
Ι Into the plains rush the hills, the skies and oceans are mingled.
Ο Oh, what an end of all things! earth broken in pieces shall perish;
Σ Swelling together at once shall the waters and flames flow in rivers.
Σ Sounding the archangel's trumpet shall peal down from heaven,
Ω Over the wicked who groan in their guilt and their manifold sorrows.
Τ Trembling, the earth shall be opened, revealing chaos and hell.
Η Every king before God shall stand in that day to be judged.
Ρ Rivers of fire and brimstone shall fall from the heavens.

I'm told (by Protestants) that the Catholic bible is missing a book and the 10 commandments were altered. Is this true? And if it is, why is that not heresy?
Genuinely curious and not trolling but I'm sure people will jump to start more flame wars

Oh this is from Saint Augustine in the City of God

chill i'm orthodox too. The closer we are to mending the schism and restoring Byzantium the closer we are to securing Christendom throughout Europe and Asia Minor.

I am not a Christian.

Sacraments are a means of grace. Plenty of Protestant denominations which believe in salvation by faith alone agree with that few of sacraments, like the Presbyterian Churches. Except they only have 2 sacraments, not 7.
