Is this show good or is it just the equivalent of yuri bait?

Is this show good or is it just the equivalent of yuri bait?

both

Neither

It's just ok but a blast to watch if you're a fujo I guess

Above average.

If you're a fujo, it's literally handcrafted by God for you apparently. If you're not, it's okay.

I want them to make an anime called Yuri on the Ice. But make it about cute girl curling.

Fuck I don't even care if it has Yuri or anything.

I just want an anime about curling filled with curling waifus.
>Curling actually has a tea break half way through the game.

Its perfect, curling waifus are the best.

yes

I would unironically watch this if it was pulled off properly, i mean shit i watched a show about ping pong why the fuck not?

I'm a straight man though.

Decent. Starts great but when half of the episodes make you watch a bunch of no-name background boys skate and monologue their life story it really bores you.

Its a great set up

>Team of 4 girls and a coach
>Tea breaks half way through matches
>Tournament style episodes against other teams made up of 4 girls.
>Sport that has a lot of strategy mixed with skill
>Girls slipping on ice for cute moe, girls sweeping for household moe, girls shouting for domestic abuse moe.

Its only a matter of time.

If I was a millionaire I'd fund it.

Also Next winter Olympics you should stop by Sup Forums and join curling threads.

I hope they realize the show's strenghts (fun and expressive character interactions) in S2 so it mostly focuses on the Russian cast while giving more breather episodes. And hopefully more time for animation on par with the first few episodes.

I can see the tittle now "curling girls!!!" It has to have plenty of exclamation marks.
Id love to see a cute girls ice hockey show myself. As a brit iv always been curious of the sport, its cold here but we never play it.
However if i could fund my own show it would be cute girls doing cute trench warfare things, like saving rations to have a tea party and who has the cleanest uniforms.

> its cold here but we never play it.

Britain is actually one of the better curling nations in the world.

Though most british curlers are from scotland.
Sup Forums was especially smitten with Eve Muirhead the Skip for team Great Britain.

I was talking about ice hocky, we wreck at curling... Apparently, i mean iv never played it or anything

Hockey is gaining traction in britain. there's a couple leagues there. The Elite league and the English Premier Ice Hockey league.

Hockey is great. I'm a canadian and I personally find it the most entertaining of the big team sports. You should stop by /hoc/ on Sup Forums sometimes. They'll help you out.

I think theres a local team in my area but you dont hear much about them.
I have caught a few games on late night tv a few times and it a great spectator sport, europe it far too fixated on football to bother with anything else, cricket and rugby are shit too.
I wouldnt mid american football and baseball either, the ony issue i have with these games is how long they last.

Yeah that's why hockey is the best. The only problem with hockey is that it does have two long intermissions in order to surface the ice. It is pretty popular in eastern and northern europe. Not more popular than football but definitely second.

Serious question

Was it better than Free?

Yeah

Only loses to Free in the animation department
Not that being better than Free is a huge achievement though

YES. I fantasize about curling anime constantly. It would be perfect.

>Lots of butt shots
>Cute team-working and girls shouting encouragement at each other while they sweep
>The game is strategic so the matches themselves could be intellectually engaging
>Literally four-person teams for the SOL magic number

What are the chances of a male curling anime?

>Sport that has a lot of strategy mixed with skill

This is the exact reason it would be so good as anime. Curling is about making a plan and then executing it. So it'd do a great job of teaching the audience while it teaches the token rookie character on the curling team. The skip would be explaining exactly how and why they were going to do a certain shot, then there'd be the tense moment of execution to see if it works out.

I also want the rookie's first throw to land right on the pin and her to go "Yatta!" while her team looks at each other and shrugs because that wasn't the shot she was supposed to make.

>airhead character shows up to the first game wearing skates

More likely than a female one

It's actually good, regardless of homobaiting. Anime rarely can deliver a decent character drama.

A good game should last about an hour to an hour and a half for any sport. Anything over that and id loose interest.
most games usualy but have so much downtime, replays and breaks that it ends up being a chore to sit through unless i was there in person or at a sports bar.
I remember going to an irish pub when I visited japan and watching galic football with some hostel guys, was pretty ok, mainly for the atmosphere.

Being fujobait is it's main selling point, if you can ignore that then it's okay.

>rookie is the lead
>hits the button instead of setting up a guard.

YES

>Literally four-person teams for the SOL magic number

Could even go 5 if you want the coach. Coach could be older male comic relief, Older female cake, or tragic senpai who can no longer curl due to unspecified accident.

Or club advisor if it's a high school club.

It's unironically good because it's actually funny and characterization is its strong point. That's only true for main characters, though, since other characters just serve as foils and/or development for the main characters.
Still, if you can't deal with homo, you won't enjoy it because it's too in your face about it. A big part of the story is MC's sexual awakening, it's even connected with skating.

it's the 80th best anime according to MAL!! i think MAL is full with fujoshis

Yuuri is canon homo. Victor is into Yuuri. What a headache.

It's not Yuri bait because there's two Yuris.

More like Viktor is cannon homo and Yuuri is nohomo homo

Don't let the fujos fool you, it's about 70% run time pure ice skating, and all MC's plot (including the 'romance') centres around skating.

If I were anyone else, I'd wait for all the BluRay rips to come out. The animation drop is incredibly jarring, but other than that music/direction/story is novel and enjoyable.

7.5/10

how come MAPPA shows always start out looking great and then end up looking like garbage in their second half?

>nohomo homo
Whatever that means?

If you're a fujo with low standards, it's a masterpiece.

If you're gonna bait at least try to come up with something new.
