Takamatsu: I think the yuri genre is now in its second growth period. The term “yuri” has permeated the general audience, they’re aware of it, and they’re receptive to it. If the time comes when the term “yuri” isn’t needed anymore, it’ll truly be spring for us. I think both Bloom Into You and Happy Sugar Life are both works that display this possibility. With An Introduction to the World of Yuri also helping to create this push of the yuri genre, I truly hope that this is the spark needed to spread the world of yuri in the future.
Kusunoki: Bloom Into You and Happy Sugar Life were sold at almost the exact same time, but there wasn’t any quarrel between us; instead we collaborated friendly and cultivated the good merits of each other’s work. If the overall yuri genre could do this on a larger scale, that would be ideal.
>nobody cares about his shit thread >bump it anyways /u/fags are pathetic as always.
Jason Anderson
Shit author discussing prospects of their shit series - which is none.
At least could have used someone with decent yuri works, hard to tell "yuri is on a rise" when as example are brought out the worst manga ever (also how is Happy Sugar Life yuri? its loli)

LGBT is spreading in Japan. Yuri is entering mainstream media: fujitv.co.jp/transitgirls/ The hetfags can't stop it, and they're seething.

Juan Cook
What is the appeal of Bloom Into You?
Kayden Peterson
It's about a high schooler with unrealistic ideas of love who slowly falls for a girl without even realising it. If that doesn't sound like the cutest shit, there's something wrong with you.
Oliver Ross

It avoids easy drama that would pad out the plot in favour of actually having the characters interact and, amazingly, talk with each other.
Aaron White
Yurishit with nice art and zero drama.
Isaac Reyes
>yagakimi >no drama Just because it isn't Citrus-tier it doesn't mean it has zero drama.
Kevin Green
>Kusunoki: Nowadays I hear a lot of yuri fan voices saying shows made for primary schoolgirls like the Precure series or Aikatsu! “are the strongest yuri anime.” It’s amazing that you can recognize something as yuri even with 3D videos like SKE48 PVs! Compared to when I was a child, now it feels like we’re creating the groundwork today for there not to be any uncomfortable feelings when you see two girls together.

how bad did this get I kinda abandoned ship after harumin's sister and that dumb ass student council arc but I remember it being pretty cliche. also seemed like they were gonna make harumin, mei and yuzus next obstacle

It's a tragedy that some "people" are misguided enough that even the light of a girl loving another girl can reach their blackened hearts.

>yuri >Cross Ange It has lesbians in it but it's not yuri.
Lucas Hall
If yuri is on the rise, then Ikuni will announce his next yuri series and deliver once again.
I think yuri took a rise when anime like Aoi Hana, Sakura Trick, and Yuri Kuma Arashi aired. At least, after the 00s and when we hit the 10s. It may not have been significant, however, noticeable.
Matthew Collins
>Girl Friends Has Morigana had a series go on that long since then?

Parker Garcia
You're missing several things in the yaoi list and including lots of things that aren't yuri in the yuri list. May as well count Yuri on Ice an every single fujobait show as yaoi if Sabagebu and Cross Ange are yuri.
Jordan Ward
Later this year. Of all the fucking yuri manga to get anime adaptations, why did it have to be Citrus and Netsuzou Trap?
Colton Cruz
Now, for the yuri one, try discarding the ones that actually have confirmed lesbians in it, and see how many you end up with.

Also, the amount of volumes has nothing to do with the quality of the actual story.

Bloom into You AnoKiss Adachi & Shimamura
Any one would be a glorious anime adaptation. Indeed there has been an unexpected new surge of good yuri series in the last year.
Nicholas Green
You must have missed a few years of actual yuri manga because nowadays there's almost no ambiguity in yuri hime esque stories about the gayness and the commitment to the relationship. Fans simply do not want the oh so cleverly vagueness of what yuri is from a few years ago and in general actual yuri fans do not like yuri when it happens in SoL or other mainstream genre and is bound to result in nothing.
The author of Bloom into You for example, explicitly stated that he wanted to write a yuri that is bold and clearly about romantic relationship and that's what the protagonists are struggling to resolve in the series. And that's why these kind of stories are so much better than brainless shit like Citrus.
Carson Wood
>Call me back when there's confirmed engagement and actual interaction such as kissu as a couple in a yuri series. I'm going to disregard the engagement part, as that rarely happens even in the shoujo/romance series.
As for the confirmed relationship and kissu >Ano Ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo >Citrus >Girl Friends >Asagao to Kase-san. >Hana to Hoshi Is this enough to prove my point?
