I can understand the well known and often repeated information delay effect that happens with foreign terrorists.
If the terrorist is foreign, then it takes law enforcement agencies time to figure out where they were from, what likely caused them to behave in such a way, et cetera.
If the terrorist is domestic, then it takes law enforcement agencies almost no time, upon learning their name, to bring up everything they have ever done that leaves a paper trail.
That's why you get the following scenario:

Just want to discuss this image a bit more. How did the revolver that was the supposed suicide weapon get in that position: That is, over his head. If he really did shoot himself in the chest, would the force not fling him backwards, and by extension fling the gun away from the body? How about that blood drip trail leading from Paddock's head to the revolver, how did that happen? None of it makes sense.

Its obvious from the extra guns left in Paddocks car, evidence of usage of the room while Paddock was outside it, and the massive number of bullets fired that he was an arms dealer set up for the whole affair.
Notice the furniture is not barricading the door or rearranged into cover but used to hold and display multiple weapons. Notice the mysterious abcense of the chest from the picture of Paddock's corpse. Now that just screams intentional censorship that they are trying to play off.
The feds were involved, whoever the bad perps were surprised the feds by killing Paddock and opening fire on the crowd. The fed can never reveal the truth because it means their incompetence got 58 Americans killed.
