The dullness and boring everyday life is normal with slice of life shows, and kinda expected.
In manga form, it's tolerable, because you just have short panels of cute characters leading up to a joke punchline within a chapter.
In animated form, trying to make that set-up work so that it's still considered relaxing, cute and interesting to watch the everyday life of young people and not just be bland and uninteresting and forgettable is a lot more harder. It's all about how effective the comedy is.
