The other Catholic General died

bumping

did you go to church today user?
Why or why not?

Anons I am an awful Catholic.
I have not been to mass in months.
I am a habitual masturbator.
I do not read the Scripture.
I often doubt Our Lord's existence.
I am not worthy of Our Lord's sacrifice and love. I deserve Death, Damnation and Eternal Suffering.
I am a glutton. I have impure thoughts and I act upon them. I disrespect others. I am not good. I do not deserve to receive Our Lord.

Obligatory based Traditional Catholic girl post

...

Have faith in God. Believe in his kids gdom, form an ideal of virtue and work towards it. God's mercy is virtually infinite, you cannot exhaust his love for you.

I love you brother. Stay strong.

I’m creation of 2 things: The vast majority of people alive today are going to hell and that bergiglio is not the Pope.

Peace be with you all. Pray the rosary.

I notice your child is a...uh...nigger.

You forgot the most important part. Go to confession!

*kingdom

Become Orthodox

There are a few passages in the Scriptures that often bring me to tears. Ezekiel's vision of the Dry Bones, the Beatitudes, and the New Commandment, for example. But another one is the Parable of the Prodigal Son. God's mercy endures forever, user. Throw yourself onto it. Imagine the rejoicing he'll have. Like a Father whose son has returned from the dead. He loves you, user. Go to him.

greeks don't give a fuck about the pope nor the arch bishop nor anyone. they only give a fuck about swearing at their neighboors and well muslins and how they suck.

user I have tried going to confession but I don't see the point when I'm just going to sin again between this weekend and the next. I don't want to go to Confession just so I can receive Our Lord. I want to break these habits of bondage. If only I could die as I walk out of the Confessional the next time I go.
user I try but it is hard. I just doubt His existence sometimes and it's hard for me.

a few years ago I was doubting and I opened the Bible at a random passage and the first thing I saw was my name. idk if it was a coincidence or not but it made me feel. i've only ever teared watching the Passion of Christ, never teared up reading Scripture.
i just wish I could have unwavering Faith and remain true. idk why God puts me through this plight when I clearly can't handle it.

>I have not been to mass in months.
>I do not read the Scripture.
Why not? What stops you
>I am a habitual masturbator.
Unfortunately, the Enemy has used his tools in this world to make that a very common problem. What have you done to try and stop it?
>I often doubt Our Lord's existence.
What makes you doubt? Also, even the most faithful at times have doubts, it's the very nature of faith.
>I am not worthy of Our Lord's sacrifice and love. I deserve Death, Damnation and Eternal Suffering.
>I am a glutton. I have impure thoughts and I act upon them. I disrespect others. I am not good. I do not deserve to receive Our Lord.
user, nobody deserves the Lord. We have done nothing to merit the sacrifice He made upon the Cross. We are all sinners, and most everyone sins in great ways. Paul persecuted early Christians, he even had them killed. All but one apostle abandoned Christ in His passion. Heck, Peter even denied knowing Him. And so to with many of the saints: all once sinners. Christ came to call sinners, He died for us because He loves us and rejoices when we come to Him, though we aren't worthy.
Are you familiar with the parable of the prodigal son? Towards the end, the son says to his father " ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’" And he spoke truly, for none of worthy of being called such.
But this does not matter to God responds with "‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’"
God loves you and wants to help you be better. Are you willing to go to Him and say "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ or will you just sit among the swine thinking about how you should say such to him, but never take action to do so?

Confession is good for the soul. Mindfully sinning is one step towards ending sin - realizing it is half the battle. Stay strong, trust in God’s forgiveness. And go to mass next week.

t. a sinner

None of us has unwavering faith or the power to remain true. None of us deserve God. But that's just what makes God's love for us so amazing. While we were yet sinners, God himself died for us. We can't even fathom this kind of love.

(And don't worry, I teared up at the Passion of the Christ too. That scene where he said, "Watch me, Mother. I make all things new" completely blew me away.)

>i just wish I could have unwavering Faith and remain true. idk why God puts me through this plight when I clearly can't handle it.
Nobody has unwavering faith, it's part of being human.
And what makes you think you can't handle it? Because you keep sinning? Nobody ever said that change would happen in an instant, sometime it may take years.

I am lazy and don't make time for God. I play vidya games when I'm not doing uni work.
I am slowly getting better at trying not to masturbate. every time I get a new device I am not allowed to use it to look at porn. I only have one device I look at it on. I need to install some filters there.
I just doubt because it all just seems a bit much at some points. I can get deism, but the problem of evil is a big one.
God endowed me with an analytical mind, I tend to try and find gaps in arguments and stories.

>(((Jesus Christ)))

You want some proof of the bible being correct?

Compare the Garden of eden physical location from genesis 2:13,14 to the dna haplogroup migrations. Pic related

Genesis 2
13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.[e] 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

The garden of eden is shown as a major dna distribution point stemming from Mesopotamia.

Do you have any Christian friends IRL? You could get some sort of accountability thing going. It helps a lot with me, at least.

We all sin again after confession. We have to try our best not to.

not just that I sin, but when I quell my doubts for a while everything is fine. Then 6 months later I get a 'what if it's all a lie and you're going to end up in the void for eternity'. It also does help that my mom isn't in communion with the Church and I don't want her to go to hell :(
I also struggle with no salvation outside the Church. Why would God deny some salvation just because they were led astray by some protty pastor?

I have some Catholic friends but idk if I'd be comfortable talking to them about this kind of stuff. I'm a private person, also a big part is I lust over both men and women (I would never do anything in person with a man), and I would never reveal this to anyone that could know me.

That's not it. God's teaching doesn't require judaism, Christians its is merely a personality cult. Jesus is a high priest in the order of melchizedek, follow his words, not his person. Brotherhood of man, fulfilling the will of the father on earth.

>I am lazy and don't make time for God. I play vidya games when I'm not doing uni work.
I would suggest starting small. Just say a quick paryer before you go to bed and try and make sure you go to mass at least once a month at first.
Then when you've got into that routine, add something more, like reading the daily gospel before bed along with your prayers.
Slowly but surely you'll build up a good base
>I am slowly getting better at trying not to masturbate. every time I get a new device I am not allowed to use it to look at porn. I only have one device I look at it on. I need to install some filters there.
That's good, maybe also try going out and working out or doing something social when you feel urges upon you. Try and get to a place where you can't do it, and get your mind off it. In my experience, idleness is often what leads to it.
>I just doubt because it all just seems a bit much at some points. I can get deism, but the problem of evil is a big one.
Problem of evil is addressed by Job amongst many other writings.
>God endowed me with an analytical mind, I tend to try and find gaps in arguments and stories.
May I suggest reading Augustine's confessions and some Aquinas then? They're perfect for someone with such a mind.

No need for a new thread, it'll be back in 3 days anyway.

but he also established a Church. It's the whole reason I am Catholic. if the Church was manmade it should have crumbled thousand years ago

Reading the Bible for the first time. Just got to Psalms

Shove your merkabah up your ass

>Then 6 months later I get a 'what if it's all a lie and you're going to end up in the void for eternity'. It also does help that my mom isn't in communion with the Church and I don't want her to go to hell :(
That's normal. Cycles of consolation and desolation affect everyone. Saint Ignatius wrote about it quite extensively, perhaps look into his writings a bit.
>I also struggle with no salvation outside the Church. Why would God deny some salvation just because they were led astray by some protty pastor?
That's a real complex issue which isn't my forte, but it's not as simple as "you either are in communion or you burn in hell" nor is it "anybody can go to heaven, you don't even need the Church"
Some user here might be able to articulate the church's position better than I can.

Just keep trying anons. God doesn't expect you to be perfect. If we were perfect we wouldn't need Christ, the prophets, the Church, the sacraments. I know exactly how you feel. I'm a 33 year old married guy with four children, I'm an usher at my church (I have a badge and everything) and I still struggle with all the same stuff. I don't particularly like going to confession. I doubt the existence of God at times, even.
Think of it this way--religion isn't for making sinners into non-sinners. It's for making sinners into better sinners.
Keep going to church, keep going to confession, even if you're doubting. Even if you feel like you're just "going through the motions" keep on. All those habits of Catholicism help you bit by bit, believe it. Hearing the scriptures, saying the prayers, receiving communion. I really believe that habits of holiness have an effect on you. It's not always going to feel easy but that's OK.

I have no problems going to mass, I'm just in a spiritual rut atm. Once I sort myself out I'll go to mass as much as I can (my uni offers mass during the week, which is good). as for praying, idk.. all I really do when I pray is rhyme off the prayers I know and just thank God. I don't get the point when I'm just saying the same words over and over.
I'll read Job.
Isn't Augustine's Confessions just his biography? I bought it before but it seemed odd to me. As for Aquinas, like I said in another commend I tend to convince myself of God's existence (through Aquinas, Habermas' minimal facts method, etc) for a few months then the doubts come creeping back in.
thank you user

But His words instruct you to follow His person?
He says He's God, you can't therefore divorce following His word from following Him unless you stop following God.

I just got bullied by anons for not condemning Lauren Southern for dating the half black, Christian guy. I don't know what to think about it, lol

Jews killed my personal savior, do not accuse me of that.

Melchizedek was no jew, he is the priest of God most high. Jesus is a priest in the order of melchizedek psalm 110 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”

I will check out his works, thank you user. Do you know of any in particular?
I just get sick of the cycle. Sin, go to confession, promise not to sin again, sin because I'm weak and give into temptation, go to confession, promise not to sin again, sin.... I don't see the point of confessing when I know I'm just going to fuck everything up again

...

i don't get the prohibition on race mixing. What is wrong with it?

Follow his ways, we are to create our ideal and live up to it. Love our brothers, follow the golden rule. Love the heavenly father with all our hearts.

Jesus never mentioned many of the taboos we follow.

I need help with a verse.

>Romans 15:27

>They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.

>as for praying, idk.. all I really do when I pray is rhyme off the prayers I know and just thank God. I don't get the point when I'm just saying the same words over and over.
The best thing to do is just to talk to God about anything. Your worries, doubts, thoughts, heck, even just talking about how your day went. That's what I do, and it serves me just as much if not more at times than traditional established prayers like the our father or hail mary.
>I'll read Job.
I'd also suggest getting some catholic commentaries to go along with it so you can best understand it.
It is his biography, but it's more than just that. It deals with a lot of his struggles in coming to Christ and touches upon a lot of issues most people have and talks about how he overcame them. Plus it's just a good read.

Stop shilling for universal healthcare and gibemdats for nig nogs, okay?

>Follow his ways, we are to create our ideal and live up to it. Love our brothers, follow the golden rule. Love the heavenly father with all our hearts.
If He's not God, then there's no reason to do it.
>Jesus never mentioned many of the taboos we follow.
Such as what?

What about it do you need help with?

The obvious implication. I mean, we can't really say Christianity isn't "kiked" with verses like that lingering in there. I mean, give gibs to jews is literally in the NT, so isn't this at best bad optics?

For me it's Mathew 11 28-30
>Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened...

In my opinion - it depends. If both persons are of the same upbringing and faith, which, let's face it happens extremely rare anyway for people of different color, I see nothing wrong with it. The problems raise when people are of different culture and faith. I don't think such people should mix.

Guys I've been going to mass more about 3 times a week and there's this beautiful woman there who goes everyday. I love her and I haven't even held a conversation with her yet but she's older than me so it won't go anywhere. I'm really sad to see such a beautiful woman out of reach but it gives me the hope I need to find a good woman

>I love her and I haven't even held a conversation with her yet but she's older than me so it won't go anywhere

I know a guy who married someone 20 years older than him. I'm not saying do it, but it's possible.

Replace Jews with whites and it’s good.

Maybe think about this, user. Sometimes we beat ourselves up too much. We can be our own prosecutor. But one of the most important foundations of Christianity is that Mercy is even greater than Justice. There's so much in our religion about Christ doing everything possible for us even if it seems like we don't deserve. We often think we don't deserve it but God disagrees. You need to really believe that. You're worth it. Doesn't matter how many times you fail, God will always be the father of the prodigal son for you. Infinite mercy and forgiveness and love. It doesn't matter how much mercy you need, it doesn't matter how many other people there are out there who have the same need of God. God thinks you're worth it even if you don't. So you ought to consider just accepting his version of things instead of your own if you're feeling that way.

You never know until you try, might as well at least strike a conversation with her.
I'm in a pretty great relationship right now with a wonderful girl, but I would have never gotten that had I not been willing to go out and try, knowing full well I faced rejection as a possibility.

That's not even what it says though? It specifically mentions giving material blessings to jews and no one else. It also established Christianity as a spiritually Judaic religion. The lack of arguments is saying so much right now.

>Do you know of any in particular?
The spiritual exercises is often considered his magnum opus.
I'll pray for you user, and for your mother as well. Have a blessed day and a blessed advent.

Because it was hijacked by them? ignore the Jew shilling and it’s fine.

>It specifically mentions giving material blessings to jews and no one else
That is false, it specifically mentions helping out those who spread the gospel (within Jerusalem) because the Jews there would persecute anyone spreading the message even more so than anywhere else. This is because Jews hate the fact that salvation was extended to anyone, instead of just themselves.

How was it hijacked? If it shows up in the NT? How much of the Bible was corrupted? Isn't the entire thing exposed if jews take credit for the whole thing and spiritual parentage?

>It specifically mentions giving material blessings to jews and no one else.
because it was dealing with a specific conflict between jews and gentles in rome at the time. >It also established Christianity as a spiritually Judaic religion.
In that the new covenant replaced the old one, sure, but that's basic Christian doctrine. The important part is that word "replaced," it is not a continuation of it. Jeremiah 31 talks about that concept in a bit more detail.

>it specifically mentions helping out those who spread the gospel (within Jerusalem) because the Jews there would persecute anyone spreading the message even more so than anywhere else

If the jews were the bad guys, then why are Christians supposed to grant gibs to them? The verse says the exact opposite of your claim. The jews shared their spiritual blessings, to Christians and Christianity.

Fuck off, you nigger loving scum.

thank you all for your comments

>catholic
>read and use officially the bible TRANSLATED into latin than Classical GREEK
>praise mary
>literally pedophiliic and homosexual

our pleasure user, hope that you can return to consolation soon
