Kill yourself.
Western literature is being infected with weeb authors.
I like it.
Your favorite book, /lit/.
>that would make good anime.
Depends who makes it.
WoT can only be done as an anime because Hollywood would fuck up the central theme of endless violence and super busty women, all while maintaining a weirdly lighthearted tone because the harshest words anyone says is "bloody". It's perfect for anime.
Don't the harem romance.
Or the MC that's deathly afraid of all things lewd.
Well, burn me!
>sniffs
simpson
>Pulls braid
>Spanks a grown woman
Jordan was really into spanking.
He was also into cleavage.
Kill Six Billion Demons anime when
>All Aes Sedai can be summed up as
>Busty ageless milfs
It needs anime
Any disney mover
>Egwene being "disciplined" over and over again in the Tower
>At first it leaves her with a really sore bum
>Eventually she learns to love it.
Or better
>Taming one of the oldest and most powerful dark Aes Sedai still alive through the power of bum smacking.
>ywn be repeatedly raped at knifepoint by a busty MILF queen
>you will never become bros with her son
>he will never casually mention how he thinks you're "good" for her and he's glad the two of you are banging
I think Stormlight Archive would work better than his Mistborn books. It has got a pixie waifu, goddamn power armor and giant swords.
It's pretty much anime already.
I agree, but it isn't even close to being finished yet.
And mindbreak in general.
>one of the Seanchan's goals was to collar every Aes Sedai, known for their pride and power, and force them to become obedient pets through physical and psychological torture and general degradation but never anything that would leave a mark
Not to mention that perverted male Forsaken that got put into the body of a busty young girl and gave many late night full body massages to Egwene.
Or the fact that Aviendha, Min, and Elayne could all physically feel when one of them was riding the Dragon cock.
Man if Jordan had been a more modern writer with the obsession of making things more gritty then we'd have full on rape dungeons and Trolloc breeding raids rather than the not so subtle suggestion of what Myddraal do with captured women.
It's also not terrible, like most of the Mistborn books.
Or all those implied green ajah orgies with their Warder harems.
Or the rampant lesbianism between Aes Sedai initiates that's treated as a commonplace affair in the Tower.
Goosebumps the Anime
youtube.com
Make it episodic with different cast and characters. It would be the best mystery/horror anime to come out in a long while.
Malazan Book of the Fallen
Snow Crash
Fuck, Snow Crash anything when? I want my goddamn Snow Crash movie already.
Codex Alera is anime as fuck. So is the dresden files.
>An Asha'man and an Aes Sedai bonded to one another can feel everything the other is feeling
>EVERYTHING
But that would make a terrible anime.
That series basically only works as printed text. It doesn't even work as an audiobook, and that's about as close as you can get to being a book without literally being one.
Battlefield Earth
Yeah now imagine them doing it while they're both channeling and all their senses are heightened.
Wheel of Time is no better than Xanth.
You guys should know that.
Anyone else notice that Sup Forums pretty much likes the most anime fantasy, like Sanderson?
WoT would work great as an OVA series similar to LoGH.
Lord of the Rings. But only if you change Frodo, Sam, Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, Merry and Pipin into cute girls.
Gee, I wonder why.
I haven't bothered reading any of his modern-setting stuff though.
Don't.
Reckoners is literally garbage and nu-Mistborn is almost as bad.
Stormlight is still ok, but on the re-read Words of Radiance is stuffed with filler and the first half is pointless.
Where do you start and end each OVA, though?
I'll admit there's a lot of fat that could be trimmed, but with one or two exceptions they couldn't fit an entire book inside a single 45-60min OVA. Would feel too rushed.
Yeah but none of them have read Heroes Die, which is pretty much the best Isekai ever written.
That's why I said do it like LoGH. Many episodes, trim out what you don't need and start after Eye of the World if you have to.
They could at best only adapt limited parts of it. The scope is too big and detailed to do the whole thing.
I want cute shota Artemis, fucking hell.
Series got really weird in the last few books.
>got really weird
Even better. Weebs will laud it as a masterpiece because they'll have no fucking clue what's going on.
I want /ss/ with him and the fairy
Deepness in the Sky: The moe life of the human sized spider Sherkaner Underhill and his family.
No I mean, there's time travel and awkward forced romance between a 3 foot tall adult fairy and a teenage human. And time loops that don't really make sense.
>dwarf anatomy and awkward sexual tension: the YA fantasy series
I'd be fine with that but I would also ship him with Butler just because.
>western works
Fuck off.
As much as I'd love to see this adapted in any form, I think some of the more gruesome stuff (anything with the peasant horde for instance) is a bit too graphic for any squeamish producer to greenlight such a project, at least if he hopes to reach the mass market.
Vampire: The Masquerade.
I could see Zelazny's Amber saga work as animation. The first half with Corwin's story would make for a nice series.
I think the fact that the first book is only semi-comprehensible and is easily one of the least smooth series introductions in the history of popular fantasy might cause more problems.
I think most Garth Nix stuff would work.
Moon Knight
Blue Beetle
Booster Gold
Justice Society of America
Adam Strange
>big two trash
they could always adapt more rpgs into anime.
Well, they don't have to repeat the mistake of the book and ease the viewer in with some additional info to make the introduction a bit smoother. Let's say something like Outlaw Star did, where each episode started of with a narrated world building segment. something like that. Or throw in some newbie who can be the viewers Mr.Exposition. They can kill him at the end.
A Leviathan series adaptation is all I ask for
I guess roriconfan doesn't hide the fact that he's just a comedian any more.
>You gotta Sheathe the sword Rand
>Pilot the dragon
I always felt like animation was probably the best way to capture and illustrate bonding between warders and aes sedai. I can't imagine how you could communicate a character feeling urgency from another character in a live action scenario without breaking the pacing and having them think about it or speak it alloud. Animation would allow the use of colors or non realistic visual cues that the characters are reading off of one another.
Batman. I know there' s a batman manga that was drawn by the same guy who made silent mobius
A Watchmen anime would be tight as fuck
Mighty Max.
Bring back Tezuka from the dead and have him write the new Ducktales.
Aliens.
Dead Space.
Green Lantern.
I seriously want Aliens adapted some way or form. Talking Xenomorphs here.
Star Wars legends
>Talking Xenomorphs here
I know you're saying you're talking ABOUT Xenomorphs, but the Japs would make the Xenomorphs actually talk.
>smooths skirts
Warhammer 40.000
HBO would love it. But would need to add more fucks, more lesbians and more gays.
>fantasy and cyberpunk works
Hell yes, especially WoT or Amber.
The only things I don't think they would get right with WoT are the discipline scenes (which Hollywood would fuck up even worse, probably on purpose for political reasons).
Blood Meridian
What would you want to have first? Gaunt's Ghosts? Eisenhorn? Or CIAPHAS CAIN! HERO OF THE IMPERIUM!
Neverending Story, actually following the novel in the second half.
But it must end each episode with the song.
youtube.com
No idea honestly. WH40k is so big, almost literally every anime genre could work.
Even slice of life highschool harem shit.
There is already a Star Wars manga so why not a Star Wars anime?
Norio Wakamoto voicing Thrawn when?
Because Disney
Oh yeah, he was Lando.
Oh fuck, there are some silly pulpy novels starring Lando from the 80s that would be great to animate.
It's time.
>I Really Needed Money, But This Guy Who Loaned Them Now Demands A Pound Of Flesh From Me!
>Our Families Are Fighting, But I Actually Really Like That Capulletti Girl!
>The Year Is 1984, And I Can't Stop Loving My Big Brother!
>We're Prince's Two Best Friends, But We Have Zero Clue How We Got Here!
>My Father Is A King And Has Died A Mysterious Death, But It Turns Out That My Uncle Is The Killer?!
>I Need To Travel Around The World, But I Only Have Eighty Days To Do That?!
>I'm An Immoral Hedonist, But It's Not A Problem As Long As My Portrait Ages Instead Of Me, Right?
>My Inner Beast Can't Be Contained, But I'm Just A Simple Doctor!
>I Was Recruited To Be a Squire To a Knight But All We Do Is Fight Windmills!
>No Way!! My Best Friends Just Betrayed And Got Me Thrown To Prison But At Least I Get To Become Really Rich!?
>There's No Way My Roommate Is Actually A Brilliant Detective
>I'm An English King, But My Adviser Don't Know What's The Difference Between African and European Swallows?!
>The jealousy of one of my dad's wives is driving me insane!
> Jeez, Darcy-san, I'm only here because of my friend so don't get the wrong idea, got it!?
>My Uncle gave me a Ring as keepsake and suddenly some Oji-san told me to destroy it?!
>Alien-chan Always Does it in Threes!
>I Was a Coming-of-Age Hero Until My Story was Turned into a Thinly Veiled Feminist Tract!
>The Famous Hero of the Empire is Actually a Coward!?
>I Killed the King's Dog so now I Have to be the Replacement!?
>We're the Last of the Great Human Empire and our Founder Can Predict the Future!
>There's no way my step-daughter is this cute!
A Kingdom Death Manga would be pretty great.
I think there already was a Comic in the work anyway.
Helps that most of the artstyle is pretty animu already.
Since it doesn't look like Karl Urban is going to get to do that sequel he wanted, I'll say Judge Dredd animu.
I don't know if it's on lit/a/'s pre-approved list of fantasy but I've been rereading the Belgariad and it's a blast, I'd love to see it adapted.
Plus the main love interest is the hardest tsundere you can possibly find.
>>We're the Last of the Great Human Empire and our Founder Can Predict the Future!
Wasn't there a Foundation manga? Did that ever get finished or translated?
This will never stop being the most bizarre adaptation I can think of.
full subs when
seeding the existing subs would be nice too
You shut your mouth Kelsier and Vin make the books worth reading.
What's the weirdest pick for an anime adaptation of a western work out there, Sup Forums?
Lensman got an anime adaptation back in the day, I think it's not particularly faithful.
I imagine it would be visually similar to Castle of Cagliostro.
Harry Potter
Look, I'll admit I stopped reading after the time-travel demon realm. I tried reading the Atlantis one, but I couldn't get into it at the time. Do Holly and Artemis Fug, because that's really all I want. It was set up to be a love triangle in the demon one, but that genius girl from it never reappeared iirc.
Is there a Don Quixote anime?
Is there some cosmic force that prompts Malazan fans to raise their hand and shout out MALAZAN BOOK OF THE FALLEN whenever anyone is discussing western fantasy or speculative fiction in general?
Is this what fantasy fans felt like in the shadow of Tolkien in the 60s, and in the shadow of LeGuin, Donaldson, and Brooks in the 70s?
Also, House of Blades is a fun shitty fantasy that deserves a fun shitty gary stu anime.
>>The jealousy of one of my dad's wives is driving me insane!
>>I Was a Coming-of-Age Hero Until My Story was Turned into a Thinly Veiled Feminist Tract!
>>The Famous Hero of the Empire is Actually a Coward!?
These are the only ones I can't figure out. And they kinda did that last one with Captain Tylor. Kinda.
>This Strange Man! The Mysterious Kaito, Arsene Lupin?!
