These are the stages of moral decline in Rome. Notice any parallels?
***
In the first stage, men ceased to lead their families in worship. Spiritual and moral development became secondary. Their view of God became naturalistic, mathematical, and mechanical.
In the second stage, men selfishly neglected care of their wives and children to pursue material wealth, political and military power, and cultural development. Material values began to dominate thought.
The third stage involved a change in men’s sexual values. Men who were preoccupied with business or war either neglected their wives sexually or became involved with lower-class women or with homosexuality. Ultimately, a double standard of morality developed.
The fourth stage affected women. The role of women at home and with children lost value and status. Women were neglected and their roles devalued. Soon they revolted to gain access to material wealth and also freedom for sex outside marriage. Women also began to minimize having sex relations to conceive children, and the emphasis became sex for pleasure.
In the fifth stage, husbands and wives competed against each other for money, home leadership, and the affection of their children. This resulted in hostility and frustration and possible homosexuality in the children. Many marriages ended in separation and divorce.
In the sixth stage, selfish individualism grew and carried over into society, fragmenting it into smaller and smaller group loyalties. The nation was thus weakened by internal conflict. The decrease in the birthrate produced an older population that had less ability to defend itself and less will to do so, making the nation more vulnerable to its enemies.
Finally, unbelief in God became more complete, parental authority diminished, and ethical and moral principles disappeared, affecting the economy and government. Because of internal weakness and fragmentation, the society came apart.
We can see these stages play out in the decline of the Roman Empire. But we can also see them happening before our eyes in America.

The big difference is no invasion of the US will be successful (or likely even undertaken) because of our nuclear deterrent. Which isn't necessarily a good thing because eventually, as we see now, the power of the state will continue to grow in order to stifle civil unrest or potential rebellion and no outside entity will ever be able to invade to either liberate or at least install a different national order.
We're fucked.

Surprisingly little is actually known about Rome, given the propensity to keep records on parchment, the ease with which parchment is burned, and the fact that Rome was burnt to the ground several times and ultimately the entire empire was either directly sacced or merged into obscurity with invading nations.

Carried over into Trump era. >Stage 7: Currently in question. Trump's faith in God and bringing back the saying of "God Bless America" is good. The problem with Stage 7 right now is that by trying to bring back God into our lives, it's only driving a wedge between us and those who call us Unbelievers (Islam) and those who are just straight up atheists who will believe in a flying spaghetti monster before any so-called God.

We are the society of Baphomet.
We promote freedom, LGBT politics, feminism, equality, change and progress while simultaneously running the biggest and most aggressive military force in existence.
We sell people on liberation while indefinitely detaining and torturing our enemies.
We promote democracy by funding reactionary groups and installing fascist dictatorships abroad.
We come as liberators, bombing civilians with unmanned aircraft in countries we have made no declaration of war on, because we can.
The fruits of the Pax Americana are millions of refugees, the return of in the open slavery in North Africa, tens of millions of addicts, more people in prison both in numbers and per capita than even the most oppressive foreign regime, militarized police held to no standards of accountability, ghettos with third world poverty and violence and culture that glamorizes it, and a public so utterly disconnected from reality that anybody saw Hillary Clinton as anything other than a power hungry sociopath with no beliefs except striving for power.

Meet the Trump of Ancient Rome, a Populist Demagogue Who Helped ... huffingtonpost.com/philip.../trump-rome-populist_b_9659660.html Populism has a long and colorful history in American politics, from Huey Long on the left and George Wallace on the right, to — more recently — Ross Perot in 1992 and Donald Trump today. But the roots of populism stretch much further back in time — more than two millennia, to the beginning of the end of the Roman ... Senators Save the Empire - The New York Times nytimes.com/2017/05/04/opinion/senator-donald-trump.html May 4, 2017 - Commodus realizes that the one thing standing between him and his authoritarian impulses is the senate, its rules and its traditions, and he is furious about its constraints on his power. I have thought of this movie often since Donald Trump was elected, and this scene seems particularly relevant this week.
And European provinces are American proxies/military bases. Nothing more

>In the second stage, men selfishly neglected care of their wives and children to pursue material wealth, political and military power, and cult The Roman citizens pretty much did this from the start, and it caused no problems. Despite Roman military forces being spread out quite far, and despite Barbarians attacking the corners of their Empire, they still successfully kept their empire in check. It was when the early Christians took over the Empire that everything went to shit. The Roman empire instilled values of virtue and Heroism in their citizens - the idea was that those who work hard or fulfill heroic deeds would be rewarded for their efforts in life. Unlike that, the Christian Rome had it's average citizens live in meekness (being a good christian at life is all that matters, since it determines your eternal fate in the afterlife), which probably prevented quite many individuals from reaching their whole potential, which of course translates to military competency as well (hello barbarians). The early Christians also had a pretty stupid knowledge-policy: while the old Romans took in the knowledge of those they conquered, Christians simply burned down libraries of knowledge - alongside with pretty much everything and everyone who refused to join their Religion. The Early Christians of Rome were different than the ones you know today - you can pretty much compare them to modern day Muslims. Their destruction of knowledge threw the empire back for hundreds of years, and the incompetence of it's dumbed-down members (believe was hold above everything, including innovation, self improvement and critical thinking) made sure that the Barbarians took more and more land from the Empire.
Of course that doesn't change that you (and we, too) will collapse on our current course. Too many cultural Marxists, Dindunuffins and Religion-of-Peace-ers will turn the US and Europe into another 3rd world shithole.

your description of the fall of rome is subjective , it was more than that, and technology as well development in general has changed, its not the same thing
This is an idea Donald Trump might like. He surrounds himself with gold as lavishly as any tyrant. Why not commission a portrait of himself as Hercules for the Oval Office instead of just moving around busts of Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King?
The way the worst Roman emperors are portrayed in art can help us to see Trump more clearly. When we look at the face of Commodus in this eerie portrait, we are staring into the eyes of unhinged, utterly perverse tyranny. When this son of the respected emperor Marcus Aurelius took control of the vast Roman empire in AD161 he embarked on a career of bizarre folly and monstrous cruelty. As well as executing his enemies and perceived enemies, he liked to fight in the arena, killing gladiators with his own hands in a spectacle that educated Romans found shameful and disturbing.
Remind you of anyone? Donald Trump prefers to carry out his gladiatorial combats via Twitter. He hurls words instead of javelins. Give him four years, though, and who knows – perhaps he will be chasing Meryl Streep around the stadium in his chariot before the SuperBowl.

Who needs an invasion? Subvert the nation enough and it will kill itself. That's what USSR did, people these days act as if it was inevitable but the reality is Yeltsin dismantled USSR in his power struggle and Gorbachev allowed for this to happen because he was a weak hippie liberal. The same thing can happen in America. Get a person who's hungry for power, but can never get in with conventional means, give that person the tools and the opportunity and that person will destroy the entire country just to get to the throne.
Or you can just provoke a good old civil war

You cannot really talk about the "west" because (((democracy))) broke our civilization so much that there are now two West : The progressive west The true west
And even tho the "west" would disappear, it just means our civilization just left western Europe and North America to go to Eastern Europe. That's just how the things are. Western civ is not a classic civilization like we knew before christianity, or islam.
It's a civilization that impregnates differents european people, and when they are done, other europeans hold her, even further in history. Since Athens this civ exists. It's not because western europe and US are falling that this civ falls. We already saw that before. From Athens to Rome From Rome to the Frank empire From Frank empire to Western Europe From Western Europe to the US From Western Europe/US to Eastern Europe.

No, the Roman Empire lasted for hundred of years, it changed alot during this time-span. Everything you have mentioned is true, but it wasn't a series of "stages", it wasn't chronological in it's decline. For instance, Rome started out as pagan, then it became Christian. By the time of the Collapse, most people in the Empire was Christian. Another example, most of the stories of Romes degeneracy - is from the middle periode, the degeneracy declined in the later periodes..
Rome collapsed primarily because most of the people in the Empire - was not roman. At first they could successfully control the local tribes, because of their superior equipment and armies (composed of Italians/Actual Romans). As time progressed, the various areas within the Roman empire increased in strengt, their equipment increased in quality, their officers was trained and on pair with actual Roman officers. In the end, they were to powerful for Rome to control and any disobedience was overlooked.

The beginning of the end was Jew worship and Abrahamism.
