How Irisviel is a servant = She's not, we just kidnapped the real living Irisviel at the end of Fate/Zero event. She's able to fight as a servant since she's a personification of the completed holy grail. This is her in holy grail form.

Then having read the LN translation, I'm even more confused if Urobuchi wrote it. It's a direct contradiction to the mechanics explained underlying her progressive weakness and collapse.
That was never explained as being due to the corruption at all -- it's the Greater Grail that is corrupted, and Iri isn't the Greater Grail.
She turns into a cup because that's how she was designed, at least in the F/Z universe. If it's that she was designed to power up and "awaken" instead, wouldn't that be wasting the mana the Greater Grail needs to provide the winning mage so they can bore a hole to the Akashic Root?

Butcher wrote the prototype of that event but he had to rewrite all of it because Nasu didn't accepted the story which was was to '''''edgy''''' and ''''brutal''''' to be a part of this mobile shitfest. The scenario had to be plain, simple, with cutsie wootsie tone, bits of fanservice and waifufagotry, on the top of that it needed a happy ending even if all of this contradicted already established lore from F/Z and F/SN and character personalities. All of that so the event like the whole game could pander to the biggest possible number of hikikomoris and fat whales who self-insert as MC and live their dreamed lives as a fake person inside of pseudohistorical harem. As a gatcha game maker you don't want them to be sad or despondent, the product has to make them happy and excited so they could continuously spend more monies on your shitty distraction device. If fate have ever had any artistic merit then grand order is a thing that completely buried it.
