It's a problem. There absolutely is no fossil record link or evolutionary signs that show we evolved from apes or other primates. None. Nothing. We did not evolve from them. Still, natural evolution and genetic adaptation happens all the time, but just not with humans.
In fact, humans are oddly maladapted to live on earth. We are born helpless and stay that way for a long time. We also have a brain that is at least 50% irrational and spiritual.
Then if you go back through the fossil record, you'll see that the first life on earth were small genetically simple worms after bacteria and simple organisms. Then, a few million years back, all the phyla of creation suddenly appeared in a brief window of about 300 years. That's what the fossil record shows. There were adaptations, mutations, evolutionary trees started at that time, but everything came almost at once.
This is a huge mystery so far.
The best guess is that humans came a bit later and there were civilizations here on earth much further back than we know. There is evidence of organized empires going back 8 to 12 thousand years before Krishna. That's huge!
This is why Heisenberg ultimately concluded God is a real entity; an actual creator. Our world and reality is too fantastic, too complex and almost magical for it to be described by a simple theory of evolution.
