I really enjoyed it. got a bit ruined for me because of this one fuck i knew who loved gits though

For me it was alot to take in, had to resort to the web to figure it all out.

I saw it at a childhood's friend house. It was a VHS, a horrible dub and the TV was too fucking small. I thought it was boring and shitty and fell asleep around half of the movie.

Later I grew up and was able to enjoy it with subs in all its 576p glory.

boring

Thought it was porn
skipped through looking for the scenes
found the last scene

didn't actually watch it for another few years

Didn't watch it until recently. I had seen some SaC on Adult Swim years ago, but that was it. It didn't stand up to the hype, but I think that was because being on Sup Forums for a bit had raised the expectation way to high. I think I owe it a rewatching, though.

Got bored by the second episode and never bothered watching it again. I watched the movie(s) a couple years later though.

Yeah, Sup Forums can definitely set the bar a bit higher then it needs to be

VHS with shit dubs in a friend's house. Nude scene was too lewd for us and we paused that shit for about half a fucking hour to take it all in.
Enjoyed it quite a bit without actually understanding what the fuck was going on but we started drawing weeb shit after that, then his dad came home pissed because someone pick-pocketed his phone.

>nice looking city
>why is the lady naked
>woah that guy's head just exploded
At this point I hadn't known anime could be more violent than FMA.
>is that a tank?
>it talks?!
>TALKING SPIDER TANKS HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME

I saw the original film after watching Stand Alone Complex + second gig, still don't like it as much as the shows. It's been so long I'm not sure I really understand what it's about besides artificial intelligence. I'll watch it again if I see the live action version.

I liked it but didn't really get it, I was probably 18. Over the years I've watched it a few more times and it has really grown on me and I think it is my favorite film.

The Major is a great character and while she gets more developed in SAC there's just something about her depiction in the 1995 film. I like to compare her to Athena, a modern day Goddess of Justice and Wisdom.

same although i liked the action

I have never seen Ghost in the Shell.

Should I?

Kind of boring. Repeat viewings have made it a personal favorite though, it's a near perfect vision for cyberpunk in my opinion.

It's less than 90 minutes long, just watch it nigga. If you don't like it at first, rewatch it at a later point and give SAC a try.

SAC is a must.

Yes

I was mostly bored. I think I was 15.

Tried watching on the train on the way home from school
fell asleep each time

It's unbelievably boring.

>be 13
>sisters bf bought me the movie for Christmas Eve
>hey let's put it on
>boobs everywhere in the opening
>awkwardness everywhere since family is watching
>what the fuck am I watching
>since then I've watched it 8-10 times
>I love it

>only 8-10 times since then
I've seen it at least 4 times in the last year

Test

I've only seen it once, pretty recently. The first half kicked ass, but the second half was 2 deep 4 me.

Wellll uhh ummm

uhh umm uhh uhh uhhh life finds a way

Life finds a hole

I watched it while hungover. I couldn't follow the story in the first couple of scenes so I turned it off. Definately gonna watch it in a more sober state in the future.

>Not CHRisTmas In The SiLenT ForeSt

Plebs please.

this is actually pretty good, was it only on the Jap version of the show or something?

Bootleg VHS in the late 90's. I was unsure of what I just watched but somehow I knew it was special.

I got to see it in 35mm at a theatre for my second time. It was pretty phenomenal.

I heard the song on both versions. But they substitute Rise with the CHRisTmas so it's a different opening.

was the reason I startet scripting/programing

the first movie, the manga and BLAME! are my all-time favorites not just in anime but as a whole

>You'll never more watch an anime with Hiroyuki Okiura (GITS movie) as character designer, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and written by Yoshiki Sakurai (GITS SAC).

Feels bad man. They know how to make good stuff.
