How did the religion of Judaism get corrupted by the Pharisees?
I know the Jews of the bible are not the same as the Jews of today.
However, I'm fairly certain that the teachings of modern Judaism originated from the Pharisees.
Who are the Pharisees and where did they come from?

That's because it was a bad translation. When it says Jews it means Judeans, as in the inhabitants of Judea.
So what would we call the "original Jews" then? Hebrews? Israelites?

I'm njot keen on the history of the new jews after the New Testament, but the Bible itself calls the church the people who follows the covenant. It isn't so much that the pharisees didn't move into the new covenant with everyone else, but they were already corrupting old laws into traditions that they were not meant for. For instance, when Jesus' followers were picking and eating grains on a sabbath day, the pharisees tried to condemn Christ by saying they were working on the sabbath. Jesus rebuked them and asked if it was lawful for them not to eat on that day. They didn't answer. The point being that the pharisees misunderstood the law, in that working for profit was forbidden, but not to satisfy daily needs.
I would say that the pharisees did in fact become the new jews we see today. If you read the Talmud, they say that Christ is in hell boiling in hot excrement and, supposedly, he also says that we should have listened to the jews all along. This obviously contradicts scripture, which says Christ rose from the dead.

this isnt exactly right. the Talmud is a discussion of how laws apply. In this part of the talmud someone is telling a story where a roman jew asks the spirit of Jesus: what is the penalty of X?" X being something the main character of the story believes jesus did. and Jesus says the penalty is "boiling in poop" but then the rabbis say "wait a second this is a misapplication of a punishment, the punishment does not apply to Jesus because the even tho jesus did try to lead people away from the word of the original prophets.. at the end of the day Jesus had the Jewish peoples best interest in mind." so as a reader you learn that according the rabbi's if you act in a way that you think is helping someone, even if what you are doing is wrong, you dont diserve the full punishment becasue you were (albiet incorrectly) trying to live up to the spirit of the law. Basically "look he fucked up and broke the law but his intentions were good"

No, you don't because that isn't true. Not only do all genetics and linguistics prove that wrong but just read the shit and tell me they don't also act exactly the same as they did back then. Read Exodus, read the story of Esau and his rat scum brother, read about Abram and his descendants, they're all a bunch of liars and cheats and complainers. Ba'al is the pagan cow God. Why would God want us to call him any other name than what he gave us?
