Why do so many people rank Maid Dragon so high up? I read the manga and think it's pretty enjoyable but the anime adaptation certainly is not AOTS tier so far. It loses to Gabriel Dropout in terms of comedy and loses to Demi-chan in terms of cuteness.
Again, it's a fun show but not even the top of its class this season.

Demi is actually good. Hikari is GOTS and the MC is very far from your average self-insert. He cannot be with the girls romantically/sexually because he is their teacher, he's a big muscly guy (quite far from your average otaku) and he's a mature, thoughtful, level-headed, kind older man instead of your typical clueless, young, bland self-insert.
It's a very heartwarming show with regards to how it treats the demi-humans' integration into human society.
