The civil war was basically socialism/federalism vs libertarianism

Confederates:

>>hated the federal goverment
>>wanted to have local state government
>>didnt like being told this and that from the national government
>>seceded because they were afraid with the federal government impeding on their right to own negro slaves n shit
>>believed in personal liberty

Unionists
>>larger federal goverment
>>abraham lincoln is the closest president the country ever had to being a socialist
>>suspended habius corpus and other things

When you think about it, the republican parties roots are in socialism, yet american republicans want a weak ass cucked government that wouldnt provide health care, public transportation, college, food, housing, or promotion of fertility.

I feel as if the south won after they lost because after the war the government went through periods of mostly being small and weaker which is a shame because rather we could have a super sized big beautiful government that would have satisfied the needs of our nation.

Ending slavery was meant to help out white people rather than freeing black people. You can't build wealth if all the jobs are being given to nig nogs who aren't even paid.

Confeds were all about the federal government when they controlled it. Things turned against them and they wanted out. It had nothing to do with wanting local state government.

Everyone covets the ring. Everyone.

Civil war wasn't over slavery, but rather taxation without representation.

Which is funny, you would think with the advent of the industrial revolution and todays technology we wouldnt need human beings doing occupations like physical labor like construction worker or electrivianist or janitorial work or any job that doesnt require mental gymnastics and is soley on how strong you are physically. We are supposed to be living better than kings and royalty did centuries and thousands of years ago.

Oh no, the confederates were seceding to preserve what the founding fathers inteded the government to be, and that is a confederation.

>Lincoln is the closest thing the country had to a socialist
But that's wrong, all socialist centralize power but not every centralizing power is a socialist. The closest president to being a socialist was Truman who nationalized the steel mills temporarily. Now fuck off with your commie bullshit

user forgets that the founding fathers later on ditched a confederacy system when it started fucking over the entire country.

The Union army had actual, unironic COMMUNISTS among their upper ranks.

Yea, small government and libertarianism is jewish bullshit

Confederates:
>literally fought to keep the seeds of Africa in the americas

Union:
>fought under the premise of deporting the slaves
Why do you think Lincoln was assassinated?

Say one agent came along and mysteriously gene purged all blacks, mestizos, and other non whites from the entire US over night. What would be your envisioned goals for the future of the US? What steps do you feel would be most beneficial towards your ideal government?

>believed in personal liberty
Except for blacks

>>believed in personal liberty
>Except for blacks
I meant the personal liberty to own niggers

Why would you want them in the first place?

The Confederate government was more centralized than the US government. They were also a bigger police state during the war.
They ridiculed the Hartford Convention and didn't think territories should have any say whehter or not to have slavery. How is the Dred Scott case pro states' rights?

The North was liberal and the South a particularly racist brand of conservatism

America had ceased to be libertarian by Jackson

It stopped being libertarian when the Constitution was adopted over the Articles of Confederation.

>The civil war was basically socialism/federalism vs libertarianism

You mean centralization(consolidation)/Capitalism vs Decentralized confederalism/Sovereignty

OP both sides feared big government in different ways. The Confederacy was afraid the North was undermining their right to slavery and trying to stir up slave rebellions while the North was scared of "slave power" taking over and re-introducing slavery to the North and the whole country which adds to Both sides were violent retards being pushed by vocal minorities of radical abolitionists like the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin and pro-slavery fire eaters. Abolitionists sent rifles in crates labeled as books to Bleeding Kansas to be used by slaves and their allies to kill pro-slavery people. Free niggers were also kidnapped into slavery like the guy from 12 Years a Slave. on the grander scale of things it wasn't THAT bad but what did happen was blown way out proportion and it led to war.
