Hyouka

Why aren't there more experimental art house anime like Hyouka?

Most people don't like taking risks.

Why isn't Hyouka fucking licensed in the U.S. yet? Do they actually think people won't watch it, or is it Kadokawa being jews?

>Hyouka
>experimental
>art house

It's fucking boring

Stick to your shonen shit, kid.

>Oh no we have to solve the mystery of the some lady who might have maybe dropped something..maybe

It's a snooze.

>Hyouka
>experimental
>art house
I didn't realize it was possible to laugh this hard on Sup Forums.

...

2kino4u

This is bait.

It's kino you fucking pleb brainlet.

>kino

Now THIS is a great Hyouka bait thread. Really pushing past the typical "Hyouka is a masterpiece," "Hyouka is boring shit" cliches we've had in almost all Hyouka bait threads for years. Keep up the good work, Sup Forumsnon.

user, Japanese scooby-doo is not art house

I really thought that OP was too obvious to get these kinds of responses, but Sup Forums continues to surprise me with its gullibility.

Is there a good mystery anime?

dont binge watch and decide for yourself

Binge watch what?

Monogatari is Hyouka done right

Hyouka is pretty good, I dont get the ha-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Monogatari is terrible and barely a mystery

Thank you

...

Shinsekai Yori

Oh it's a mystery? Didn't look like one, planning on watching it though

Kill yourself, Sup Forums.

The Cultural festival arc is literally the most entertaining anime arc I've ever watched in my life.

I really like it's plot or lack thereof.

>The Cultural festival arc is literally the most entertaining anime arc I've ever watched in my life.
>I've seen 1 (one) anime

Whom are you quoting?

Watch more anime

it's just Haruhi without the interesting parts

...

This episode is up there with KnK idol episode in worst episodes I've ever seen

Why do you even watch SoL shows at all, user? Or any anime for that matter?

Not him but what are you on about?

To form my own opinion?

>i don't watch anime to enjoy it
So make a fucking jewtube channel, autist.

Why don't you go someplace else where you can downvote opinions you don't like you retard

I agree that both of these episodes were the worst of their respective series.

>The Cultural festival arc is literally the most entertaining anime arc I've ever watched in my life.
That's ridiculous. Also, Valentine's Day ep is obviously the best ep of this show by a large margin.

Is hyouka anime kino?

...

I won't claim it's the most entertaining arc in anime, but it's easily the best portrayal of a school festival in anime.

>but it's easily the best portrayal of a school festival in anime.
Is that supposed to be an accomplishment?

Should I go to Takayama?

Idiot. Its the Final Episode a.k.a pseudo Confession Episode is the best episode

The helicopter teacher episode was the best, followed by Valentine's Day.
Cultural Festival is objectively the best arc.

Why do you think they're called KinoAni? Everything they make is kino.

>Why do you think they're called KinoAni?
Because of crossboarding mexicunts that need to go back

Uh yeah?
Considering so many shows feature it.

Hyouka is no better than any of them.

How do I ask the hairdresser for an Oreki haircut without showing him a picture of Oreki?

So fucking wrong.

The finale was a huge disappointment. Sure it had >muh visual metaphor, but it was still just an awkward mid-story end to the show, and most of the ep was inconsequential. The faux-confession scene was nice, but the rest of it had very little impact.

The helicopter episode was nice because it felt dramatic and almost had some stakes to it, like it had a little bit of teeth because the danger was real even if it was already in the past. It did a decent job of portraying how Oreki's opinion of himself had changed, and it was probably one of the best Oreki/Chitanda eps even though they're generally weaker characters. All that being said, it's just not as good as Valentine's. It makes some subtle statements about the characterization and has a nice little self-contained plot, but it doesn't do anything outstanding.

The Valentine's Day ep was the show's peak. It's the best execution of the show's central idea, which is to portray characterization through a mystery plot. That idea never works better than it does here. I would say that every element of it is better than every other ep of the show except for probably the visual variety, it's very static and sort of locked-in-a-room. The root of the genius of this episode is that it's presented exactly like a murder mystery, but instead of the crime being the taking of a life, it's pain being inflicted on Mayaka. The tension of a murder mystery is applied to a situation which in theory is much more mundane, and therefore the emotion in the episode is communicated far more effectively. The betrayal, the heartbreak, the years of tension. The way that Oreki describes Satoshi breaking apart the heart in the same way one would describe ruthlessly dismembering a corpse is the crowning jewel of the series.

The show is not some 10/10 masterpiece, and the idiots in Hyouka threads who think so are delusional. But the Valentine's Day ep was as close as it ever got.

...

>The show is not some 10/10 masterpiece
Incorrect.

I thought japanese scooby doo was Persona 4 :^\

...

Shave your head and let it grow. At least that's what I do.

>Hyouka is a mystery anime made for thrilling mysteries

This again. . . When will Sup Forums stop?

>muh murder mysteries everthing gotta be a murder myster otherwise it isn't a mystery gotta see someone die the valentines day episode is good because it's like a murder I love murder gimme the murder
Sup Forums sucks

Ayakashi is experimental

There (you) go

>valentines day episode is good because it's like a murder
If that's what you got from my post then you're actually retarded. I agree with the general point you're trying to make, though.

i like boring anime

hyouka was comfy and nicely paced and being mystery-based made for a more interesting world that exists outside of the characters

real good stuff to watch while dissociating

>not Japanese Jonathan Creek

>Hyouka
>experimental art house
Seems like too much harem LN adaptations fucked up your cognitive functions.

Hyouka is a detective mystery show with a high budget. It is not art house or experimental.

Hyouka was literally a casual filter. If you didn't enjoy it, then you need to watch better anime.

Hyouka is MAL-tier trash so
'no'

Good joke, I kill you last.
