The series has never held back on showing where Bakugou has been going wrong (and hence he has always lost) until now where he is finally realizing where the problem is (with him).

the entire fight was exactly about that with the mc and his mentor reassuring him there was nothing wrong with him and essentially giving him exactly what he wanted, a fight, a win against his main source of butthurt, praise and justifications from his idol
