Ghost Stories

>Meme, Araragi, Senjougahara and ????

Golden Boy

Hellsing Ultimate, if only for the major

Police Girl was definitely better in the sub, but I'll agree the rest of the dub's major cast was spot-on.

The thing about black lagoon is you will never get a consistent language experience, unless you can find Thai, Chinese(both flavours), Russian, Japanese, English, and any others I missed and mash them together.

I always find it funny that people say the English is better in Black Lagoon.

Stand Alone Complex, in my opinion.

I'd say it's equal

Kanbaru Suruga

Its good, but I wouldn't say better, some of the one off side characters in the English dub kill it for me

If there's enough dubs I might be autistic enough to edit them together like that

This thread was over before it begun.

Dubfags, pls.

Get it?? Because she's the monkey xDDD

Nadeko.

youtu.be/shFChEkAeqU

the series is set in england, the dub has more believable dialog than in the sub, because the nips dont know how british people talk

Way better for both the movies and the anime.

Only one I'm aware of.
I actually watched several episodes specifically to check for dubisms, and almost always found the VA work and humor better in the dub.
I normally am a subs-only fag.

Relevant.

This.

Also FMAB and Baccano! come to mind.

bebop, spicy wolf,

This. The dub made Danganronpa watchable

>nonon's dub VA

>Gurren lagann
nope

Dub yusuke is by far the greatest shonen protag ever.

can confirm code geass
the drooling mongrel retard who voices lelouche really completes the plot's quasar level emissions of stupidity

fpbp

Initiaru D? You sure bout that?

The only real downer in the Black Lagoon dub is the Japan arc.
>spicy wolf
Dub Holo is horrific and you're autistic her performance doesn't rub you like sandpaper on your glans.

>no mention of FLCL

Is it considered Reddit-tier in neo-Sup Forums or has this board become so underage that no one even remembers it?

I think dubs are generally awkward. So I gotta agree with , never seen a dub which I thought was better than the sub but hey I almost never watch dub.

Both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist.

I prefer my 90's car lingo in english, thank you very much.

>but hey I almost never watch dub.
Same can be said for me:
I never watch subs, but i think that they are pretty shit.

This is a no brainer, even the remixed and new songs were way better in the dub. When I hear the puma girls in japanese, its like they arent even the same characters. Also the priest, nerdy cop, sergeant, etc. are all way better in dub.

This.

Mostly because Ed's japanese voice doesn't suit him at all, he sounds like fucking Naruto.

I actually watched Black Lagoon dubbed, and I can say that the first season dub is kinda crap. The second is ok.

English dubs are normally crap because actors can't pronounce Japanese names properly at all. "Come on, Nahrootou, let's show Sah-sookeh who is da real ninjah". I know they are trying their best, but it's just weird.

Orange from Code Geass fits his character perfectly.

>Baccano!
Came here to post this, Baccano's dub fits it's setting like a glove.

> Log Horizon

check these dubs

pic certainly not related

>Gurren lagann
right off the bat you're objectively wrong
Simon's name has no fucking accents on it, it's only pronounced with a long o sound in japanese because that's the closest they can get

A lot of those are true, IMO, but
are right. Gurren's dub did not have the same energy to it as the original voicework.

these.

>initial D

Not saying the dub is bad because it isn't, but you don't get the M-MASAKA moments and the music is changed for some of the races, and 90% of Initial D's appeal is the eurobeats.

Did you know that there are two Initial-D dubs out there? Tokyopop dub cut out the eurobeat and changed the character names, while the Funimation dub has all of the eurobeat, original names and much better voice acting.

this, though I believe a few songs have JP and English versions that vary based on your audio track

Haruhi.
If it's not my nostalgia talking: Kenshin TV and Tenchi All except Tokyo.

the german shimoneta dub is pretty good

I actually have to agree with Kenshin, I can't stand his voice in JP at all

>Haruhi
Only good thing about it was Freemans kyon

Most of that bullshit

This

My niggas.

English versions are superior anyway...

>set in America
>starring American characters
>characters sound their age
>better soundtrack
Any Japanese version should be memoryholed, there is literally no reason to ever watch it in anything but Burger.

subjectively wrong

Shin chan is the only dub that's actually better for a western audience. YYH, Bebop and Eva are very good dubs but I don't know if I'd say they're better

This and only this as it made significant creative departures from the sub.

Cowboy bebop and samurai champloo

Only dub that I considered at least equal to the original is the official Russian TTGL dub.

Space Dandy, by far

This, though both the dub and sub are fantastic.

Meant to reply to

This sort of reasoning is always hilarious to me.

>I only saw the dub and choose to believe it's better: the "opinion"
If you're the kind of person who blindly believes dubs are better, you have no basis commenting in the first place.

youtube.com/watch?v=Z-RiwAP2rqM

The best anime scene I know of

So you watch anime without sound?

>>I only saw the dub and choose to believe it's better: the "opinion"
Oh my, are you ever the hypocrite. See, most of the people here don't watch dubs (at all), but they still bash on them, even though they dont know what they are talking about. Using your logic, the only people who can comment in this thread are the ones who have completed the shows they are talking about in both sub and dub, and while people like that exist, i highly doubt that any of them are in this thread.

>i highly doubt that any of them are in this thread
except for me and a shit ton of other people who saw these shows on TV in English years ago

>SDF Macross
>dub

>Using your logic
No, wrong. Anime is Japanese, foreign, meaning one should watch it as such unless valid reason exists for otherwise. "I like dubs better" and wanting your Chinese cartoons to be Westernized like some Sup Forums-related program is not valid reason. In many cases, it's an insult to the original director and the people behind the anime, as the dub was most likely not supervised by anyone related to the original production, and thus is a bastardization of the final art. It's the same with foreign film and many other forms of media.

Of course this isn't to say people aren't "allowed" to have an opinion in the matter, it's just that those that default to dubs have no right commenting, as their opinion is baseless and thus worthless.

What did he mean by this?

SDF Macross does have an engish dub, and it is pretty great.

Wait, really? There's an actual english SDF Macross, not Robotech?

Neither of those are as stupid as you

Yeah, ADV dubbed it in the mid-2000s

A little bit of both I think.

>No, wrong. Anime is Japanese, foreign, meaning one should watch it as such unless valid reason exists for otherwise.
I have a valid reason. I enjoy dubbed anime more than subbed. I like hearing dialogue that i can understand, instead of some ''nip nong ching baka chong''gibberish.
> "I like dubs better" and wanting your Chinese cartoons to be Westernized like some Sup Forums-related program is not valid reason.
Im not from an english speaking country and i don't care about Westernization, i just want to watch anime in the most enjoyable form.
>In many cases, it's an insult to the original director and the people behind the anime, as the dub was most likely not supervised by anyone related to the original production, and thus is a bastardization of the final art.
Who cares? Fuck the guys who made it.
>Of course this isn't to say people aren't "allowed" to have an opinion in the matter, it's just that those that default to dubs have no right commenting, as their opinion is baseless and thus worthless.
Your opinion is also worthless, and so is everybody elses.

>I like hearing dialogue that i can understand
then do something productive and learn Japanese you fucking idiot

This user gets it
Also, should mention Golden Boy and Mad Bull 22.

>Fate/zero
The dub was god awful

It was meant to be an American cartoon, only fitting that the dub is better.

>ctrl + F "hetalia"
>0 results
Any anime with multiple nationalities is always better dubbed; Japan just can't do accents right

>I have a valid reason
No you don't. Your entire post is baseless, and you make it clear you don't care about anime as a medium.
>I like hearing dialogue that i can understand, instead of some ''nip nong ching baka chong''gibberish
Guess what?- anime is Japanese. You sound like you want to be watching American cartoons instead of anime.
>most enjoyable form
That would be as the creators intended, and not you taking liberties. Fucking retard.

>then do something productive and learn Japanese you fucking idiot
Im not stupid enough to start learning a language, just so i can watch their animated shows.

Congratulations then, that puts you ahead of a decent number of people here.

>Im not stupid enough to start learning

>you make it clear you don't care about anime as a medium.
I do, in the last 2 years alone, i completed 109 anime. I like the characters and the stories anime has to offer.
>Guess what?- anime is Japanese. You sound like you want to be watching American cartoons instead of anime.
No, i love anime, but i would rather watch it in a language i understand. Also, i cant stand american cartoons.
>That would be as the creators intended, and not you taking liberties.
I dont care what the creators intended. They were wrong. Im not enjoying anime in japanese, as much as i enjoy it in english. And if everyone should only watch anime in the way that the creators intended, then why do most anime have english dubs?
>>Fucking retard.
>Getting this mad over how somebody you dont even know, enjoys their animu.

>I'm not stupid

>quoting a quote of yourself and inadvertently calling yourself stupid

Stupid as in retarded, since im not gonna start learning japanese, eating with chopstick, wearing a kimono in public and calling myself -sama, so i can watch my japanese cartoons.

your loss
