I felt the same way. The LN is pretty awesome when dealing with her leveling up. Even shortly after she hits Arachne and such is still remotely interesting. When she hits literal god/admin mode, or whatever it was called in universe, the whole thing lost a huge chunk of its appeal.

I still read it from time to time, and follow the manga since it's still in the fantastic phase, but I expect nothing from the LN at this point.

The WN's plot hasn't progressed at all, it's just retelling the entire story from Kumo's PoV now and revealing how she's literally responsible for every horrible thing that ever happened to Shun.

Fuck Shun though, guy was boring as a regular dude, guy is boring now as a isekai protagonist.

The details on the level up system were interesting. It was far more interesting than this random pseudo-scientific garbage they're trying to go with now.

Why even do that? Shun is the Japanese justice, cliché, and hypocrite character that is in every WN and is also hated in every WN.
That character is going to ruin the whole novel for the author if she continues to do this.

Because killing him means pissing off Kuro through the system voice goddess because the dumb cunt cares about the shitter and Shiro can't do shit to him in a straight confrontation.

So Kuro continues to guide the world towards its doom.

Kuro can join shun's side at the last moemnt due to his nakama speech or something and give him a powerup and kuro fights shiro, while shun and his gang vs wrath, sophia, maou wipe each other out.

I think the author is aware of that. It's not exactly playing the hero trope straight. It's kind of fun to see him being hailed as a hero by all of his friends while he is just a piece of dirt compared to Shiro.
I don't think the novel will have a too heavy end to be honest. It was always kind of light at heart, even if gruesome things happen from time to time. I don't think Shiro will die, at least.

I have a feeling the author is going to "kill" Shiro in the final battle only for there to be an epilogue showing Wakaba playing with her new pet spider.

Has someone read Children of Time by Tchaikovsk? I heard there are some spiders in it.

the thing is, when/if shiro destroys the system, everyone that have lots of level and/or skills, is probably going to die, because of soul colapse or something like that.
so even if shiro doesn't die, the maou, vampire girl, oni-kun, hero party and etcetera are all probably going to die.
unless she somehow manages to make all of them into gods, but this isn't fairy tail for some kind of convenient asspull like this to happen
