And the only way Yugi could beat Atem was through hardcore counterdecking as he knew he had no chance otherwise.

Yes, you could. I believe that Jonouchi has a quite important place in the story. I think he has great potential strength. That's why a little loss would never be enough to make him give up. There are many messages I try to convey to all my readers through Jonouchi's role.
Compared to Jonouchi, I consider Dark Yugi and Seto weak characters. In specific, I draw Dark Yugi with heroic qualities, but he has his really weak points as well. In a way, the normal Yugi is overwhelmingly more strong than Dark Yugi. It's no exaggeration to say that Normal Yugi, Jonouchi, and the others' strong points help support the single 'piece' that is Dark Yugi.

It's all right. I don't think it's as good as characters from the original/GX/5Ds (1-64) but it's a hell of a lot better than Arc-V. Zexal does take a LONG time to get to that though. Like most people agree you need to get to Zexal II to start getting payoffs which is like mid 70s.

Yes there are two Kaibas, its a time paradox, they didn't show both because that would be overly complicated to explain for the ending sequence.

Yugioh souls can be split into pieces. It's one of the powers of the millennium items and I assume it happens during reincarnation. Seto and Kaiba each have a piece of the same soul, just like Yugi and Atem.
