We general now.

I like this.

I ALWAYS KNEW HE WAS EVIL

...

...

damn how long did that take?

That looks like something out of Calvin and Hobbes.

I like it.

Oh shit.
Even the monster looks like something Calvin would imagine himself as.

Around 2 hours.

Stop raping the server ,Sup Forums

How long would a normal artist take for that?
Could you show us the hints you made?

...

>coloring well
>it almost looks perfect
>accidentally hit the X
>2 hours later
>it still doesn't look good

It's amazing what the algorithm can turn those scribbles into.

...

Thanks, user.

Did you draw the grey at places to keep the black black?

I know it's a pain but if you could guid of through at least some of your thought process it would be great.

Source on the op pic?

Reminder, still no local server on windows machine

I have no idea how to set up the CUDA_PATH on windows

Mostly to prevent those places from being too bright. The darker the shade of grey, the less chance that there will be a white blot.

So does this use your graphic card locally even if I use the online version?
Because these images take a few seconds for me when the site actually work.

no that's just the site getting hammered

No I meant that the making of the image takes a few seconds, saw someone that it took 1h40, and that tank image that took 2hours.

...

Can anyone get this to work? It used to work but its so slow now

>CUDA
If only my nvidya card wasn't broken

Where are you guys finding lineart to draw?

Well, it could be done much faster if the site didn't return the same picture like 8 times out of 10.

sadpanda has a lot

oh, I'd guess some people trial and error to get things looking more how they want, plus the site getting hammered means having to wait for the stupid thing to update a lot

manga

pixiv
I'm just waiting for the site to stop being trampled to disfunctionality before I start coloring.

...

>How long would a normal artist take for that?
Probably around 30min if you know what you're doing.
The whole point of this thing is that anyone can do it.

...

Basically a real artist wouldn't actually need this thing?

Where on pixiv?

depends.
one thing is to take a black&white rendered image and paint over it.
and another different thing is to take a sketch and render it.

Are you guys seriously impressed by this horseshit ?
As an art student, this hurts me deeply.

Basically yes.
And 30min would be for someone who just knows how to use a painting software. A skilled artist could probably do that in 10 minutes or so.
But he could maybe use it as a super bucket tool to save time on certain tasks, like colorizing the skin, which it seems to do pretty well.

The main reason why we don't have more color manga is that it's expensive to print. There is plenty of competent colorist that could do the job if editors decided to make more color manga.

Prove it.

Which one of these two are you?

>As an art student

I can tell by your reading comprehension.
Please dont shit up the thread.
also here is your (you)

For some reason, I can't choose any other colors.

Try another browser. I had issues on firefox.

Lurk moar if you think a few threads dedicated to a new toy is uncommon on Sup Forums

It's not great, but it's free.

absolutely true, but will an artist colorize hundreds pics in a day for free?
Let's say that we are more impressed by the fact this software can produce something acceptable that the result itself.

If I ever need a qualified opinion I'll make sure to ask (you)

Go menstruate on a canvas, Jezebel.

I'm the little girl.

>wow user, how long did that take
>pls pls pls tell me your process
Seriously? There's literally no room for denial user.

Nah.

Fuck. I'll try and download this and make an executable out of it.

>original error: libcuda.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

do i REALLY have to install loonix for this thing? goddamnit.

This, I use Internet Explorer and it worked there for some reason.
Firefox only gives me like 7-8 colors to pick from while IE have 256 colors.

Better version of this.

i did this throughout the span of a night

naisu

>not white hair

Better get that Patreon set up now, minimum wage + tips isn't any way to make a living.

...

The outline technique is great. Makes even mediocre colorings look good.

Which one?

make the original lineart a transparent png and throw it on top of the coloured work

Well, I do it like this (in GIMP). Resize the original lineart to the size of colored image (the width:height ratio is different for some reason), then put it in a layer on top of colored image in multiply mode. Adjust opacity if lineart stands out too much.

I resized the color Layer and blend mode Color Burn without opacity in Paint.NET.

>i cant manage to do a good colorization of the only good thing I've ever gotten out of a drawfag thread
Any advice? I'm not using this image specifically, but rather one that I put through the waifu 2x noise reducer a few times (to make the lines cleaner.)

I'm also trying to remove the white, but only have pixlr or gimp.

what are the problems you're having?

Hell no, don't actually believe this looks good or is actually a good replacement.

Color bleed mostly. I'm trying to artificially polish the line art to reduce that, but my resources are limited.
Go record a gangbang for next class, Jezebel.

tried drawing white lines around where the bleedout's happening?

It loads for a minute or two when I press colourize and then nothing. Is the site overloaded right now or?

I see what you mean.

Yup, I do that with the desired color too.

The issue is largely around where the 'bag' appears to be. The sleeves are not well-defined so they appear to be a part of the strap.

Yep.
Press it until it works.

OH MAI GODU! DIO BURANDO!

that is a tough one, maybe try dots if you're using lines or vice versa

>install everything
>the server.py is not loading modules for some reason

...

Am I doing something wrong or is the colored image supposed to turn out very pixelated compared to the original?

What is this magic?

...

The Docker image is done.

If you need an explanation of how to setup everything from scratch on Windows you can find it here: github.com/liamjones/PaintsChainer-Docker/wiki/Complete-setup-instructions-for-Windows-(including-Docker)

If you know what you're doing with Docker you can grab the image directly from Docker Hub: hub.docker.com/r/liamjones/paintschainer-docker/

If you have Linux + an NVIDIA CUDA card I'd recommend trying the GPU based setup, it's about 10x quicker to process an image. No extensive instructions for that right now since I'll assume, if you're using Linux, you probably know your way around a terminal already: github.com/liamjones/PaintsChainer-Docker#processing-via-cuda-on-gpu

Any problems shout and I'll try and help

Hopefully someone can make a nice singular bundle to run the app from directly in future so you can use GPU processing and don't have to fiddle with something like Docker

That's the best I've seen it do an eye without hints.

Well I'll be damned. Rotating before colorizing actually helps.

that's a lotta steps

...

post the error at least if you want help

Pretty good. Shame it fucked up when I tried hinting to make it the right colours.

dude the colors a fucking trash. All the work is in the lineart, and that shit is the time consuming part. Shit tier colors like that could be done with a cheap gradient in 30 seconds.

Yeah, doesn't take too long to do though and once done it's just a matter of re-run Kitematic and start the container, nothing else.

I do dots where little color is needed, and lines where I need clear boundaries.

I also ignore the eyes, because Chinaman can't do eyes.

Here's a rushed example of what I want for my end result.

I don't get how you guys are impressed by this. All the work is already in the linework, the actual colors look like trash.

It's impressive because it's being done by a program, and this sort of thing hasn't been possible before.

Now get out,

Why the fuck have this fellow not commercialized this witch craft?

sounds like you're doing everything right and just hit the limits of what it can do

if you want horrible colors like than then just use a paint bucket tool. At least that way you get consistent colors, it's not like the program doesn't need color guidelines already.

Moon speak is easier to understand than this. Now I understand why always have the tech guy do all the talking whenever our servers fries, in the company.
