The thing is that Berserk can end in an optimistic or bittersweet ending. It's just impossible to predict which one is the one Miura will pick.

Did you not read the Golden Age? It was awful, but a positive ending was obvious after that. The most bittersweet you'll get is a final farewell between Gattsu and Gurriftsu where they, hopefully, finally clear up that misunderstanding (assuming Gurriftsu doesn't already know it with his god-powers).
