Only three more chapters until Akagi vs Washizu ends

I kind of want Washizu to win at this point
The many babies that were born around the world when this match started are now old enough to post in here.
This might as well be a historical event.
How can a match last for 18 years, how can a publisher allow (or push?) it?
How is One Piece again, 21 years old?
Akagi vs Washizu started around when Luffy was about to start fighting Crocodile.
What a time to be alive.
>18 years
It is about to celebrate 20.
The match started in 1997.
One Piece started July 19th 1997, Akagi vs Washizu started December 1st 1997
19 years since the match started.
In comparison I think Luffy was about to fight Arlong and Naruto wasn't even a thing yet.
So is Akagi vs Washizu older than Hunter xHunter then?
Washizu is a cool guy
Has Fukumoto applied for the Gusiness yet? I doubt there's any other match in manga print history that has lasted for longer than Akagi vs Washizu.
I remember like three years ago when Washizu was literally hallucinating demons.
Older than a lot of manga.
Older than the entirity of freaking Naruto.
You know with all this talk of snuffing out life and all I was actually worried Fukumoto would have his life snuffed out before we got to the end
>you were alive to witness it's end
This will make national headlines in Japan
Holy shit its actually happening

Akagi is losing?
The last chapter scanned has Washizu draw enough for a Tsuuiisou Daisangen within a single turn through Suzuki pon palace and dealing in repeatedly, but he "despairs at the knowledge that Akagi will die" whatever the hell that means
>there are those who couldn't.
Children who were born when Washizu finished explaining the rules are in university now.
>tfw there will never be a crossover between Ten, Kaiji, Akagi and Kurosawa where they team up to finally take down Japan's Underworld
That is so ridiculous that it almost makes me want to read it.
>implying
Washizu is The Emperor. He's ALREADY gotten a Tsuuiisou Sousuushii.
I'm about to finish it and I spent 4 years doing nothing, deciding which major I should pursue since then.
>everyone said it's obvious Akagi will win it
>Akagi will lose it yet still survive
I bet Washizu will die before the match is finished, thus making Akagi kinda sorta default winner.
I've been wanting to watch the anime. Is it any good? Thought it was interesting since I liked Kaiji
>A match that lasted for 2 decades in real life.
Wait what, how did this happen, what's the release schedule for the Akagi manga?
Are the translations caught up?
It would be much more interesting if the Washizu vs. Akagi match took place in an universe where Akagi loses and dies. And Ten was just an alternate universe where Akagi lived.
Akagi is almost the opposite of Kaiji as a character, honestly you might not find yourself cheering for his winnings like Kaiji since Akagi just rapes everything in his path.
Monthly.
I hope we get a season 2 covering the entire match
But has it been continous or Fukumoto took a lot of breaks to work on other stuff?
Will we get a sticky?
I loved kaiji but I knew it was different. I mostly liked the thrill and shenanigans
Would the whole season be just the match?
He took a 15 month break back in 2000-01, but after that there were 10 months of double releases
How far behind are the scans, is Washizus Tsuuiisou Daisangen going to be the last hand?
I kind of wish Fukumoto would extend this for a few more chapters to make for an even 20 years. Like, at this point you may as well just go for broke.
Is Fukumoto planning on going past this match? It'd be cool if Akagi kept going until the start of Ten.
Yes
And then follow with a S3 that adapts Ten
>Akagi loses and dies
>suddenly he wakes up
>"It was all just a bad dream."
Washizu stopped being raped sometime around hanchan 6.
>everyone said it's obvious Akagi will win it
It looks more like Washizu is going to hesitate to actually kill Akagi or something
That or he might actually kick the bucket during the match.
Akagi is just going to pull a call out of his ass and ruin the order
Whats stopping Akagis assistant to simply chombo the round
Akagi doesn't have any tiles left in his hand that would be call-able, and the only tiles Suzuki is dealing are Chun, Haku, Hatsu, Ton, and Xia, none of which Policeman or Akagi have. It's literally impossible for Washizu to lose at this point unless he fucks it up on his own, he literally wins after his next discard - and he doesn't have any applicable calls left.
That's exactly what they don't want
Washizu is 50k+ points ahead of Akagi right now, Akagi's only hope is to land a ron or tsumo so Washizu gets the rest of his blood drained and dies. If the round ends, even in a draw or abortion, Akagi dies from the bonus payment.
Can you hear the sounds of anime staff scurrying to get concepts drawn?
>Washizu realizes what friendship is and spares Akagi
>Akagi kills him off right away
Wicked sense of humor
only if the season is 39 episode long
The whole multiple seasons.
he already decided to kill akagi last chapter
no friendship end this time
Why would they make an anime when the manga is over? That's not how promotion works, nerds.
People have hope because Akagi is legendary status at this point
Also a emem
>Why would they make an anime when the manga is over? That's not how promotion works, nerds.
Promotion for the 12hour live action movie
It's just the Washizu arc that's ending, the manga will still continue.
Akagi is the posterboy of Kindai, most important MJ manga magazine in Japan and it's still very popular to this day
They did a live action adaptation of this very arc last year
also the manga is not over, FKMT said he will continue after washizu
Sounds bad, it's only downhill after this and Akagis past as the king of the underworld is supposed to be open to interpretation
He'd die anyway from the bonus payment, but I'm pretty sure they brought up that possibility at some point and agreed that if either of the assistants chombo then it's considered an automatic yakuman for the other player.
>he actually believes the anime is promotion meme
There are so many things wrong woth this post.
Is this a general FKMT-san thread? If so, then oh boy how is Kaiji gonna GET OUTTA THIS ONE
I don't want Kaiji to lose and go back to labour again, but I feel like having a "massive comeback win" one more time against Kazyua would be disingenuous and unfair to the reader though it would be orgasmic.
Thoughts?
...
washizu and akagi made a deal before the start of 6th hanchan to not do that
Don't jinx it, user
The latest chapter FKMTKrazy has released is the December 2016 chapter. We should have the Jan 2017 chapter up within in a week or so. ; ) New chapters come out in Japan the 1st of each month.
Who is that redhead
Akagi is checking out that bulge.
Girl from Getter Robo High, as far as I know it's hotblooded mahjong with a crazy high school girl and I guess there's monsters and getter rays and shit, I've been looking for it but it seems like nobody is translating it yet
>Washizu is 50k+ points ahead of Akagi right now, Akagi's only hope is to land a ron or tsumo so Washizu gets the rest of his blood drained and dies
Wait, Washizu es betting on his blood too?
Yeah, Akagi managed to take ALL of Washizu's massive amount of money, then Washizu started betting his own blood, Akagi took some of his bllod also kills him too.
akagi is the exact opposite of a loser. He was someone born to make others lose. He goes work a manual job even though he is a mahjong master because he doesnt care, he comes in the mahjong parlor at the start after the guy wishes for someone to save him. His hair is white even though he is still young. He is a force of nature. Him losing wouldnt make sense
10 cours season 2 soon then?
>that latest chapter of kaiji
oh shit, strap in guys
I can't believe it's actually happening.
So, Getter Robo but with mahjong and hookers?
Perfection exists.
>you might live to see an Akagi S2
What a timeline this is turning out to be.
Not sure if my body is ready for this
It would probably need 2-3 seasons just to cover all of it.
This.
Hell, wasn't it literally stated that Akagi is not a manga where you see IF the protagonist wins. It's a manga about HOW.
Him winning is predetermined, and we're just on a train to see how it all unfolds.
So when exactly is it over? March? April?
If you count brakes, Uriel vs DarkScheinder is longer I believe
Which one, 138?
how are we going to celebrate the ending of washizu vs akagi?
>read final part of ten
>grandma had serious dementia
>get to the point where akagi tells everyoen he is basically completely fucked and cannot even play mahjong and just want to kill himself
Fuck man, was heavier than it should be.
playing mahjong
april 1st
Can't wait to step into Sup Forums's tenhou room
>welcome to the pon castle, enjoy your mindgames and FREE SEX
>emotive manga Akagi
The adaptation is hard to complain about but it feels like they somewhat characterized him retroactively based on the Washizu arc.
>end is near
That panel was only halfway through the match
You're right. I'm just saying it would be interesting precisely because he never loses. I love Akagi but you have to admit he's a Gary Stu, an interesting one, but one none the less. And when you have a perfect character sometimes you want them to see them fail.
No he is not a gary stu. He isnt a perfect boy with superficial flaws. He isn't a human. First of all he has white hair in a series where nobody has weird hair colors. The only people having white hair are old people and as they happen to be in kaiji and akagi, they are almost demonlike people with no remorse. White hair indicates he is a supernatural creature. Akagi came in the parlor after the guy begged for someone to save him, even if it was a devil. Then akagi came in. Then he basically shows himself as someone who only exists to make other people lose, not to win. Like some kind of spirit that is tehre to screw people over. This is further pushed by the fact he wants people to gamble with all their worth.
He doesn't not lose because he is a perfect boy, he doesn't not lose because he is a gary stu that is good at mahjong and beats all those bad guys. He wins if someone falters in the face of complete destruction. He teaches people humility. But unlike a good guy his payment is everything.
Wanting akagi to lose is like wanting a calculator to make a mistake.
There's Hirayama though.
Yes, what is your point mentioning him?
