If it could be argued that the girl grew as a person, then the development of MC was so patently lackluster and stupid it doesn't even compensate for the divergence from a more conventional ending in an omnibus show. If anything, the fact he had wanted to achieve something for himself (the whole reason he went to that summer camp anyway) and then picked a career path out of some faint sense of hope he'd run into the girl again means any progress he might have made was lost pretty quickly. He didn't need to wind up with her for his own character to grow, but this turn of events is not the 'grown-up' development people are spinning about this nonsense.

It wasn't that bad, for what it was. But if I wanted something like that I wouldn't be watching this.

One shouldn't let Schopenhauer get to one's head. He was a misanthropic, grumpy, bitter old man. He had a keen eye and a sharp mind, being spot on when it came to his observations and analyses, but he usually interpreted things in the most mean-spirited way possible. I would argue that one can easily agree with Schopenhauer in many regards without becoming a misanthrope oneself though, if one learns to live with the fact that people aren't perfect and that their many issues that cause trouble for themselves or others are not just rooted in malevolence or a lack of character but merely manifestations of their human nature. Without our flaws, we would be lifeless automatons, lacking the drive to accomplish anything or indulge ourselves. Schopenhauer had too high expectations, which he himself couldn't live up to either. Such a disposition is bound to result in disappointment and ultimately frustration.

After rewatching the 4th episode(almost didn't, the ending made me that mad), I find solace within the after credit talk, with him interacting with her, and maybe, just maybe rekindling their relationship (although I'm not optimistic at them getting together at the end)

The problem with the ending wasn't the fact that they didn't end up in a long-term relationship, or that Tsuneki went to Spain. There's nothing wrong with having a good ending that doesn't end with a relationship. It's a fresh change of pace to have something like this happen every once in a while.

The problem is they were too chicken to follow through, and so they had Kamita wait for Tsuneki to come back from Spain to start a relationship. All that character development for Kamita, thrown out the fucking window.

He is saying he is abandoning Amagami methods for Seiren.

So no more happy heartwarming endings.

Hikari tells Yukie that she ended up going to a resort hotel, as she feels that mentioning the Summer Course would be a bad idea. (I'm not confident in the TL of this line, so someone who knows better may want to check this one out.)

He was a genuine misanthrope and in many ways quite similar to many Sup Forumsnons, who also enjoy making provocative claims to get (You)s. He even wrote an essay on how to appear to be right in an argument while not actually being right.
