>"You wouldn't get it if you don't watch a lot of anime"
easy

Yeah but that's not funny

a beta autist is forced by his dad to use a big robot and kill monsters, screeching all the way

Why masturbate if you can rape her? Shinji sure was a weirdo.

like you would any other entertainment medium

Never liked it watched all eps and movies just not my cup of tea or understand why so many jizzed over it.

A guy with crippling depression who hates modern Japanese culture was given a huge budget and he made an anime about the most spineless and whiny protagonist ever.

Because the giant robots in the show where pretty cool, he was given loads of fame and money, so he made three movies as part of a cinematic remake of the franchise, before running out of ideas for an ending, so he stole the last movie's budget money and abandoned it.

tell him to skip it

It's like Gundam, but really pretentious.

Don't! It's terrible.

And this is coming from an old anime fan who only watches cell animation.

He didn't really quite the last movie did he? Is it not coming out?

Beta autists rides his mother and forces her to kill her Senpai all because his father can't accept his wife is a 10 story cannible.

negative Megas XLR

>Introducing anime to other people
>Flashing your powerlevel in public
Kill yourself, my man.

>Evangelion
>using it as an introduction to anime
The thing is, you may like it so much, everything else will be shit (my case, it was my first and in terms of preferences, the last anime) or you may hate it so much, you'll just abandon the idea in general. So no, don't start with Eva. I can't enjoy anime because of it.

Greatest love story ever told

...

I doubt Hideki Anno would be on an english-language imageboard website, so no, that user can't predict the future.

Can You (Not) Get In The Robot

I just wouldn't bother explaining.

But if you're trying to get them to watch it, I'd say something like:

-It has cool mechs.
don't tell them they're bio so maybe they'll be surprised and like 'whoa that really makes me think about stuff' when they find out
-It forces children into positions of terrifying responsibility and gives a 'realistic' interpretation for how they would react.
-Cool action and explosions and shit.

But don't mention God or angels or mythology or anything. They'll enjoy the 2deep4u more if they don't see it coming.

creepy anime bullshit

>I just wouldn't bother explaining.
This. I'll go ever further and say such people aren't worth talking to.

evangelion is as good an introduction to anime as any other decent show

evangelion was the second or third show I actually watched all the way through, it's a fine start

he jokingly said something along the lines of after my godzila movie and then he did a godzilla movie and then said he started work on 4

...

All the christian imagery is simply there because the author found it 'cool' like the way we use Norse and Greek/Rome Gods.
The protagonist identifies himself as a 'nice guy' and the story is showing the hypocrisies found in 'nice guys' and how entitled they feel.

This

But it's about love for yourself, user, not for this hair bleached stoner faggot

quiet, you

You don't.

Kaworu and Shinji are the same person

All Gainax characters are the same person.

>implying you can explain something that doesn't make sense to anyone

Nice fedora newfriend

2deep

>Tfw I've still never read or watched eva
this is all true.

Why is watching anime a prerequisite of understanding Eva?

it tries to be deeper than it actually is

How would Anno explain Evangelion?

It's giant robots fighting monsters but with a shitload of esoteric christian symbolism and references to philosophy.

Done, then they can either watch it and form an opinion or fuck off.

>I created it because it sounds complicated.

>I wasn't thinking at all when I made it.

>Life sucks, drop out.

OP's picture

Its shit, watch gundam.

Creates a strawman as the subject of it's nihilistic post modern critic, then it breaks down it's complexes not to find something genuine to make use of but for the sake of breaking it as it's creator was going through depression at the time.

Doesnt need explaining. Only tryhard weebs think it's 2deeps4u

Now you understand what she meant at the end.

Why did shinji think he was fucked up though?
fapping to sleeping naked girls is pretty normal.

...

Maybe in front of your PC, user.

Post the picture of anons fapping to Asuka's picture in that one thread

In my country, Mazinger Z was so popular to the point of most people believing it was the only mecha anime ever. So I said to my parents that Evangelion was ''if Kubrick and Nietzsche directed Mazinger Z''.

>Admiting you like anime to somebody who does not.
>Not hiding your powerlevel

>someone must have downloaded this shit to my computer

A shittier version of kuzu no honkai, but the Mc is gay and has daddy issues.

For a story that's supposedly about NEETs and escapist culture, Evangelion sure has a lot of political messages embedded in it.

Look at how different generations are portrayed in the show. The post-war generation (Fuyutsuki and the commitee) are shown as collectivist and preoccupied with progress, loyalty and political control. They have no problem sacrificing the individual (including themselves) for the sake of their own collective (or collectivist) goals. Technical progress needs to be achieved at any cost. There is a lot of Prussian influence going on here.

Fuyutsuki is the mediator between them and the "middle" generation, Gendo, Misato, Kaji and Ritsuko. Now, in real life, this is the generation that thrived under capitalism, and it translates to Eva as well. They are shown as assertive and having strong personal goals and interests. They have loyalty towards NERV as their workplace, instead of being loyal to a political or cultural ideology. Also, their personal interests constantly conflict with their obligations at work. They can't settle their American-influenced lifestyle with what their superiors and the collective expect of them. Naoko, for instance, wants different and mutually exclusive things as a woman, as a mother and as a member of NERV.

Then we get to the younger generation. Again, Misato is the mediator and translator here. To point out the obvious the kids are shown as absolutely zero political power, while having to fulfill a lot of conflicting obligations. They constantly try to rebel, but have no idea as to how and why to do it. They resort to avoidance and black humor because of their inability to improve themselves or their situation. And here is the important bit. Anno calls out young people to stop escaping reality and pursuing false truths and take responsibility for their lives. But who to rebel against, and how should the world after rebellion look like?

This, it is as if they don't want to survive

>Also if you like it, I hate you.

"The japanese bible".

Neon Genesis Evangelion made me asexual.

Ok Sup Forums, what is the best introductory anime that isn't Toonami-tier (i.e. DBZ, etc)?

eva
no joke

How is that even possible?

I'm not sure what Toonami-tier means but I'd say something that fits the "formulaic, adventure, with an adult MC" description. So things like Cowboy Bebop, DtB, Samurai Champloo

Asuka looks like a transvestite

Cowboy Bebop is objectively the best introductory anime.

...

This looks uncomfortable as fuck. I bet she'd love it.

>I'm not sure what Toonami-tier means
Do you know what Toonami is?
