What's stopping literally any anime character not of legal drinking age from walking up to these and buying beer with their allowance money?

Japanese laws that forbid showing minors drinking in media.

The law.

So don't show them explicitly drinking.

You usually need a dedicated card to buy something from such a distributor if it's in a public area (same goes for tobacco distributor).
But if it's in a hotel any kid could buy it.

I wonder how Nip beer taste like

They do, all the time, plenty of characters magically get drunk on liqueur chocolates, despite them not containing any alcohol, or not enough to get someone drunk at least

Or they get drunk because somebody accidentally mixed up the drinks.

Like piss water.

if you have any sushi restaurants around you they'll probably have some, what I've tried hasn't been bad

Sapporo beer sucks.

Can confirm.

it's really dry, but ok for mass produced stuff

Drinkers get out!
The only Sup Forumspproved drug is benzo.

Actually it's Sup Forumsyausca

MATE
SHROOMS
ROFL

Pretty sure they require ID.

This.
As with cigs here.

What stops people smashing these open in the middle of the knight.

The law.

Japanese peoples livers can't process alcohol very well, so they can probably get drunk on liquor chocolate.

So like Americans beer?

Some Japanese people have that problem. Not all of them.

American beer is flavored piss.

The only Sup Forums approved drug tob/a/cco

>not amphetamines

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got a waifu?

They showed an underage drink alcohol in Keit-Ai.

Morals.

>What stops people smashing these open in the middle of the knight.
The knight would cleave them in two.

Cigarattes and alcohol have a history and culture associated with them.
They can't be the Sup Forumsutists choice of drug.

Their skin color.

>Using any kind of stim
It's not like you have shit to do..

Lack of niggers

everything is drenched in history and culture, it is up to you to acknowledge or ignore it.

Psychs are the best kind of drugs.

>not having a glass of wine while watching your favorite anime
Plebs

I don't want to kill my gains.

I guess OVAs don't count?

>you will never play drunken paintball with the Wotos
;_;

It's meh, like I wouldn't hijack a plane to Japan to get some, but wouldn't go ewwwww if offered a glass.

stims are the best when you think you have nothing to do

>wake up at 8 on a saturday
>pop a 60mg vyvanse or something
>take a huge shit about 30 minutes later
>spend the rest of the day cleaning and blasting edm and watching anime and jerking off
>killer headache by 9pm, realize you haven't eaten all day
>get drunk and order a pizza

It's just not in the culture. Plus, unlike a lot of countries, if you do get arrested and see a judge, you're probably not going to walk.

Nice quads.

Accidental gets aren't actual gets and don't need to be pointed out.

>muh culture!
Back to dumblr.

face value is very important in asian countries, much more than in western society, if you go drinking in the open being an underaged student then soon enough the neighbourhood will be talking about how you are such a lost cause and etc

I was buying lottery tickets and scratch offs from lottery machines since I was 15.

Dry and kind of ricey, with little flavor because it's mostly export lagers. On the whole I prefer to drink sake or tea with meals when offered the choice, and depending on the restaurant.

Their whiskey is actually pretty good though, and the new gin being produced in Kyoto is phenomenal.

Their average beer is pretty good compared to mass-consumption beers from other countries. But they all taste more or less the same and I've never found actually tasty japanesd beer like you can find in Belgium for example.

That said, my personal favorite Nipponese drink is umeshu.

>umeshu
JDM or export?

>not Sup Forumslcohol

>tfw southamerican
>tfw cant get the stuff

So, what, last year?

Craft beer is popular among yougner drinkers in Tokyo, same as in any urban place on the planet. Sadly it is the same "try our famous local IPA" crowd you find everywhere.

The salarymen drink an obscene amount of Suntory beer when they get off work.

Jap beer is good. Expensive as fuck for some reason, but tastes like heaven when cold on a hot summer day. Though I've tried it outside of japan and I thought it was pretty bland, don't know if there's just a huge difference between export or whatever.

I've mostly drink umeshu from bars or home-made when I was in Japan.
When I tried buying some outside of Japan I've only managed to found cheap shit that doesn't taste anything like what I was used to (so, probably made in China?).

>Ballast Point
>Lagunitas
>Arrogant Bastard
>local
wat

Do the Japs really have a taste for West Coast IPAs? Huh.

There are limitless number of local craft beers too. Lots and lots of them. But they bring in the trendy ones as well.

Good stuff. Kyoto produces it for JDM, including my favorite bottle, but I don't think any decent makers export it. A lot of "Japanese" liquor in the States is actually from California.
I can't fucking get away from it, anywhere I go. If I wanted Stone I'd drive to the brewery and fill a growler.
I've also seen a lot of "craft beer" at convenience stores too, with different brews by the familiar brands in each shop. Not much difference, but sometimes you get a weird can that has an appreciable difference from the standard.

Actual craft brewing is something you kinda have to go out of the way to get. For example a bar in Sapporo had a pale on that was conditioned with agarwood chips... but if it weren't for the insistence of a friend I'd have never known about the place.

Sorry, I meant to say that Japanese are not filthy thieving westerners.

It's not even about the culture. It's better for everyone in the long run and apathetic idiots are the reason we can't have nice things.

When just about everybody in a given locale does the same thing and it's not the generally done thing everywhere, that's the culture, you blithering idiot.

You don't understand moron.

the entirety of Japan functions on honesty box systems

>Kyoto produces it for JDM, including my favorite bottle
What is it?
I'd like to bring a few good bottles home the next time I go to Japan. But the last time when I asked Nip friends about a good brand none of them had any idea.

>The entirety of Japan relies on everyone helping the system before themselves
So?

No, he speaks English.

more watery than Budweiser

What the fuck? There have been alcoholics on Sup Forums for as long as I can remember. There used to be threads about it, especially around the holidays. Where is this other shit coming from, newfag neo-Sup Forums?

Linguistic is just a means to share information. A grammatically valid sentence is ultimately useless when spouting nonsense. Get raped by lolis you fool.

If memory serves it was from Kitagawa Honke brewery, Kyoto: I'd recognize the bottle in a heartbeat. Though anything that's not basic Choya or some shit in a box should be at least good.

Easily on my top 10 list for booze.

Wow your life sounds fucking miserable.

Asahi's quite nice actually. Better than the cheap piss they make here.

But if you want to start talking about quality beers, it doesn't match up. Still, great for the price range.

>What stops people smashing these open in the middle of the knight.

The knight I guess. They have swords and shit

What tier would you say Takara is? It's the only good umeshu I've had a chance to try here so I'm curious how it fares.

they have some pretty good breweries

hitachino nest/ kikuchi brewing is really good

other than that there general selection is very so so...sapporo is ok, asahi is also meh

their whisky is pretty good, particularly Hibiki and Yamazaki

Because they're not black.

I wrote down the name and I'll try to find some.
Thank you.

They aren't progressives.

Literally nothing, I was in a konbini trying to buy beer, I just put it on the counter, a little button popped up on the thing that said something like

Age: 20 y/n

Just hit yes and walked off, no ID, nothing. Fucking great country.

(Apparently the reason for this is that asking someone for ID is DOUBTING ZEHR GRORIOUS HONOR and frowned upon or some shit)

Their cheap shit is worlds better than the cheap shit here. Drinking down pints of 'nama beeru' for karaoke is so comfy.

>not ending your night at 5am handcuffed to a radiator and shot full of enough haldol and lorazepam to make you stop trying to eat the sky
It's like you guys hate fun

>wine
Don't forget your fedora btw
I only use beer, whisky, vodka or rum

Takara is fine, but a little too saccharine for my liking.

Yoichi was absolutely divine before they stopped doing age statements due to a lack of barrels laid down 12-20 years ago.Their NAS are younger on average now than they used to be, and the flavors just aren't the same. Nikka owns Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, and so their cask blend draws on the same fresh peat you got from Yoichi single malts. Unfortunately you can't get the cask in the US because American import laws actually don't allow 500ml bottles of hard alcohol, and that's the only size it comes in. But it's very popular in western Europe, even in Scotland.

Asahi is great. It's my go-to beer for any situation.

Sapporo isn't as great.

>purposely damaging your brain
It's like you were too intelligent to begin with.

Why else do we watch anime

Sup Forums pls stay

Moderate doses of alcohol have been shown to have positive effect on the brain

Central European >> Latin American > might as well not drink > American > Japanese.

I mean, if you're talking the sort of cheap domestic shit you get at bars and restaurants, absolutely. If you're including micro and craft in that assessment, you sir can go fuck yourself.

California and Colorado in particular have some very good small to medium sized breweries.

Cheap raw beer from moonland > cheap beer from america.

They're not fucking savages and thieves, that's what

Depends. Asahi's export lager falls above a Bud or a Coors for me, but below some other common American beers because it's just not distinctive.

Natty isn't beer.

>natty
I havent tried it yet, is as shit as the memes say

It's mostly that I'm factoring price and flavor. It was so affordable to just drink at izakaya or karaoke. Meanwhile drinking at any local bar or restaurant or going into the city for moonspeak karaoke costs so much.

Mainly industrial-scale.
If counting micro- and medium-breweries, it's more like CE >> USA = LatAm > might as well not drink > Japanese

>Sapporo beer sucks.

>ITT filthy alcoholics arguing over the taste of piss

I don't buy beer from a vending machine but pretty sure you need to slap some ID that shows you're at a legal age before you can buy there.

Still doesn't jive for me. Central Europe never really won me over because their ales aren't as good as the ones you can get in the US if you know where to look, and they don't do sours. It's just a critical lack of creativity and variety, same as how Germany has been kind of fucked for me.

The industry "standards" really do drag the average down though.

It's honestly not the worst I've ever had: that would be a Tahitian beer that literally tasted like soap. But it's pretty fucking close.

Izakayas also serve it in tiny glassware.
