I'm still wondering how Luffy's awakening could work. If we take what Doffy said literally, it should let him turn other things into rubber. The thing is, Luffy being rubber or his surroundings being rubber are practically the same for bouncing related stuff. At most I could see that working to make his opponents lose balance.

What I'm thinking could work is Luffy getting some kind of weapon he can turn into rubber, but I can't see Luffy using a weapon, he's just a brawler with no training in any arts.

I really hope that DF awakenings have a wider meaning than what Doffy gave it for Paramecia type DFs.

No, when I think of training, I think of learning a new skill, be it labor or something that requires knowledge on something. You're still young, so you think that training is just physical work when it isn't. I know this is a shonen manga, but training comes in many forms, not just physical training.

Perhaps a similar style to Tankman where the enemy gets sucked into the rubber surroundings and launched out? Doflamingo can already create string, so all his awakening did was give him more string to use. The environment itself being string didn't really seem to matter.

Now that I think about it, I don't really see the point of awakening from what we've seen. What does Doflamingo being able to turn the surroundings into string do that he couldn't already do? It empowers his attacks I guess but it doesn't really reimagine the potential of his powers.

Anyone else still feel like this is all a ruse by Pudding? I'm not being a waifu follower or a fan of her. Just, there's clues about that show that she's seemingly faking it in some way.

Both of these moments for instance:
Her third eye is shifting to the side. That's a sign that she's not being honest with herself. And that second pic of her one eye being closed was the same look she gave when Mom went into an excessive laughing mood during her first reveal.

There's other little bits like this throughout so far, so I have a feeling Pudding is just playing two faces at once.

Probably could think of more if you want but that's off the top of my head. Dressrosa was a very long arc, yes. However, I think people are forgetting that most arcs in One Piece when read weekly have similarly "little" happening.

Dressrosa does not stand out when considering its length. It has just as much occurring per chapter as any other chapter. It was just very long overall and you're judging it as the most recent finished arc (Zou a side)

Overall, Oda's ability to tell a good story seems to have decreased. I doubt his stories will ever be able to grab me again the way it did in East Blue and early Grand Line. However, the plot is getting more and more interesting.

If you still think Dressrossa is bad I urge you to reread it. Its much better when you aren't waiting a week between each chapter, and the scale of the arc is pretty incredible. Feels much larger than Alabasta which is what its often compared to.
