Self-Reliance general

The final red-pill is choosing a life of self-reliance and being in charge of your domain, instead of being a good goy.

How many of you here are homesteaders, or have considered getting into any kind of self-reliant lifestyle?

There's clearly increasing frustration among all of us on the right about our options on how to change the direction of western civilization. No matter who we vote for or what rallies we attend, the mere act of being a functioning member of society and paying taxes is basically funding a war against us. Perhaps a more concrete solution to the parasitic relationship we have with our society involves fundamentally changing the white way of life, and realigning our priorites?

The current status quo is maintained by concentrating the nations power and wealth in urban centres, where the cost of maintaing a comfortable way of life is perpetually extracted out of you through taxes, finance, and other costs. All of that wealth is then used to perpetuate the degeneration of our society, and fund the tools of your enslavement. We are trapped in a self-reinforcing cycle. Political action may be great, but its unlikely to ever be more than a stop-gap for a real solution.

A more permanent change means detatching ourselves from the status quo. There are lessons to be learned from people today who live in more rural and tight-nit communities, or how our own great-grandparents may have lived just a century ago. Shed all the crap from your life that you dont need, and learn to rely on yourself. Learn practical skills that will make you more self reliant, instead of eating food that was picked by Guatemalans 300 miles away, make your own. Learn to be in charge of your own life. This is how large and healthy families are made.

We got ourselves into this mess by constantly seeking comfort above all, choosing to move one more exit down the highway to escape the encroaching minorities, instead of adressing the problem head on.

kek this... I guess we need others to help us exercise our own self reliance now

discord has literally said they don't want conservatives on their platform.

Does this lifestyle include entrepreneurs?

>at 16, started my own business doing amazon fba and saved up to pay for my first two years of college
>at 17, started my social media management business, bought a porsche 987s

Picked up a copy of Seymour’s the complete guide to self sufficiency for my wife for Christmas. We both fantasize about getting a small farm and having goats and chickens, maybe duck or some pig

Wife and I took the homestead pill..been working on it since we were dating. Now have 10 acres of what I call comfy homesteading while working our wage slave jobs. We are always improving our area, but its not a life and death thing if I didn't cut enough firewood or something.
AMA

How do you hold all that shit inside you?

>an entry from some neets dream journal

I basically have the same thing. Choose livestock carefully and shoot coyotes often is all I have to say.

yeah it was kind of set up for cows with good fence...we took part of it down for a large garden. Don't want cows just yet because children are young...may go chickens in spring..have quite a bit of experience with them

kek this...no kid that made his own money would buy a porsche at 18 come on im super practical let me get a car i wont ever be able to fix and the insurance only costs me 4000 dollars a year oh thats clearly bs

When society collapses this nigguh gonna be a water boy.

Do you grow all of your own food, or do you still buy some externally?

Your blended type of situation sounds enviable to me as I'm already established well enough in wagecuck land but would love to get out. Did you have to change anything big about your life once you decided to homestead? Such as having to move a bit closer to a rural area, increasing your commute? Find a new job closer to a rural area? Or were you already set up for it?

>Having land that easily accessible by road

New to this but I'm tired of living amongst such a large percentage of actual retards and poos.
I was actually just googling places in America where I could buy land.. can anyone recommend a comfy acerage location? I was looking at Iowa, and Montana seemed a little overpriced (I'm assuming it's become the new Aspen)

Almost all our veggies..we are just getting started. Well stocked pond, established fruit trees...we planted more..this is our first year here

Trouble is a lot of places like this don't trust outsiders unless they work hard to be extra friendly or marry into the area. May be difficult to fit in as a leaf. Get Trump gear in case you are questioned

there are certain spots in mountainous areas that have become very touristy and therefore arent an option, but I'm certain both of those states have lots of good land. The difficulty is that generally, the cheaper the land the harsher the climate you have to deal with.

There are good places in the Idaho panhandle that are both cheap and have a decent climate. For Montana you'd have to look east of the Rocky Mountains. Pretty much the entire midwest is cheap.

It was a pretty well set up spot...an old timer had to move out because he was becoming too sick to take care of it and move to city. Sold to us because we were excited about the homestead meme and I think he appreciated that. (lots of other offers said he really didn't need the money) We had been actively looking for about 3 years. So it was basically homestead starter kit.

I always dreamed of building a cellar big enough to become self reliant, just imagine your whole life under the earth no need to ever leave your hole.

discord gg/9MhEF8

Also commute is about 20 mins. We had been gathering tools and equipment for this for about 10 years in anticipation of the move

Gonna inherit about 12-20 acres of land like pic related. The thing is that family expect us to lease it and continues living our city lives, and the terrain I probably gonna get it's close to flooding grounds.
Would it be worth doing it?

Me. I want to make money and help employ recovering NEETs. You know give back to the next generation

Guess it comes down to the stability of the govt and pirates and such. Cows make money.

12-20 acres is a lot, give it a shot.

Build a house on stilts.

I am well educated and am going into a lucrative field. The end game is to save enough money for homesteading. I want to have my own power grid, grow my own crops, have some chickens, and own a fair bit of land. I want to move to a more rugged state when I do. Maybe Montana.
I want a river on or near my property too.

>pirates
Here we call them "Cuatreros" and most of them are friends if not themselves rural policeman, pic related.
They justify their existence by sometimes arresting the people they themselves allow to illegally fish and steal cattle.

This is how I live. Not interested in expanding upon it though.

The REAL red pill is moving to your nation capital and organizing with others to fight on the frontlines of the metapolitical and cultural war. The real red pill is taking over the institutions and thus your country.

Hide away in the woods, you faggots.

Anyone in the UK do this? Land here is all bid up in price by the housing bubble so i don't know if the economics add up.

your own power grid is very ambitious, but would be really cool.

This

I honestly have no idea if homesteading is even a thing in Europe

Solar panels and maybe a windmill. Not 100% sure on the windmill, because of reports of infrasonic sound having negative effects on animals. Then just have a lot of heavy duty batteries I charge up after I rig together a charging station. Lucky for my my training is in Physics and I have some experience in tinkering. Especially with electronics.

Just get mini's like polled Dexters. Easy cheesy fabreezy.

Oh and of course a traditional fueled generator for emergencies.

>if homesteading is even a thing in Europe
It is. In france we have a ton of land available. I know some people who do it.

DESU I'm surprised the old world still has land the government has claimed or hasn't been already utilized. You've had much longer than us yanks to use that land and have less of it.

I own 5 acres I'm slowly converting into a homestead of sorts. Biggest problems are energy requirements. So I'm working that matter out as we speak. The well and septic need power, but solar isn't able to cut it here in Ohio. Plus we don't get near enough wind to be viable.

What states have cheap, good land? It would be cool to homestead in PA but land is super fucking expensive and I don’t know why.

France is the only country in Europe capable of feeding itself. Other than Russia I believe.

> can anyone recommend a comfy acerage location?
Yeah, you just go right back the way you came, leaf

Cheers thanks. I'd take my election bet receipt with me and let them know I was leaving Canada because it's a liberal, socialist shithole.
Do you live in an area like that? I don't dress faggy but that's in the context of a liberal canadian city.
Thanks man. I was loling about considering Sasakatchewan but I lived there for a bit and it's just too boring. Would rather be American anyway

...

>self reliant
>takes 7 master craftsmen with precision power tools to make a fucking knife

we can feed ourselfs thanks to philips

>Self reliance is toxic.
My god the lack of irony in that statement...
That's actually really sad when you get down to it. Don't rely on yourself or your own abilities. Rely only on the state. The state will keep you safe and well fed. Don't go off grid and live a life where you are master of your own life. Let the state be Master of your own life.

Dear god...Like, I'd come up with some joke in order to down play it... but seriously, nothing is coming to me. I just want to turn off my internet forever, go into the woods, set up some booby traps, and disappear forever after reading that bullshit.

Not even Deutschland?

Kek, I meant to have the land and resources to do it. But yeah, if no one creates a new superior kind of illumination system, you'll be ok.

Bump for the right of self determination

We fought all the other big boys for over a millenium to have that much land available, of such incredible quality.

Wait where?

we sell our shit to chinks and japs, but those lamps are the future, just fill antartica with vertical farms, no pests or diseases from the outside and the air might be used as cooling

I envy Americans and Canadians. If I want to go innawoods I'll just get arrested straight away because this country is so small..

Aren't there entire areas of Scotland that are empty and devoid of people?

When i was 11, me and a friend bought 50 boxes with gingerbread for about a dollar each and walked selling them for ten. We said we were from the local football team. They got good conciousness we got the money. Then we bought a box of Renati hair styling from a shady guy, we paid about 10$ for each box and sold it on school for 50$. We made 2500$ in a week as 11 year old. Today we're 24 and having a business together.

Seems like nope. We first? I'm not surprised but our agricultural production is on a decades crisis now.

You can't go more than 20 miles without running into civilisation.

Aren't there even some islands that have close to nobody? In the north.

>tfw no comfy rural homestead
I hate suburbs so fucking much

Literally every square inch of this country is owned.

I can see how extreme self-reliance can be a problem; basically being anti-social and refusing to seek help. If any normie who doesn't think about these things reads that paragraph they might correctly interpret it as somewhat reasonable. But in reality, the types of people who unironically use the term 'toxic masculinity' literally think all (white) men should be Marxist cuckolds.

The best way to make money is to buy farmland, and forests near suburbs. Eventually they will expand the suburb and buy your land, or build a road through your land. Then you sell it and move to a larger farm.

>tfw we are 2nd largest agri exporter yet can't sustain ourself with food because flowers earn more cash

did you send the wrong link?

That's not the kind of self-sufficiency OP meant you cheeky cunt.

Why you are teasing me Kek

thank you for this post OP. Sincerely. This is the only future I see for myself. Society has gone whack.

Buy it. If you go to very rural places you have tons of places available for close to no money.

Just work 4 years even on poor jobs you should be able to buy enough land to live off it.

There are still ways around that.
For instance, one thing you can do is get a big ole boat and live on that if you live along the coast. I did that for a spell before moving back to Ohio. Had a nice 35 foot sailboat with solar and wind power. I was anchored in the bay. Only had to occasionally pay registration for the boat, which was a non issue IMO.

Shoulda took that boat and sailed to Key West when I had the chance....

The point is that you don't need income, and can produce all you need yourself.

Ralph Waldo Emerson is your guy for this op.

that might be a solution if there was any leadership to organize it. And dont say "then lead it yourself", not everyone has the charisma, intellegence, etc to lead and shouldnt be expected to. Until there is, everyone should survive the best way their skills allow.

i have a few acres in SE WI. we have a garden and want to get chickens. i have some food stores and also want a hand pump for the well. feel pretty good about it, our standard of living is fully civilized but we have the capability to produce for ourselves. about one acre I want to turn into perennial food plants, theres a good book called secret survival garden which details this. if we were to move, i'd look at the american redoubt in Montana, Idaho, etc.
