No...I don't think so at least. None of the actual ingredients for a real civil war are there. First off, what are the two 'sides'? Maybe the obvious answer is red/blue, but taking this to be the case the two are so geographically intermingled you'd never be able to wage a war like that. There would be no 'red' territory or 'blue' territory, from which one could invade or defend, it would just be islands of red or blue next to one another. Secondly, there's no centralized leadership - e.g. command structure, no standing militaries, etc. So without a clear leadership structure to point to, who would be calling the shots on either side? Where would the armies come from? Etc. A revolution maybe, but even that is far-fetched. Realistically, war, violence, civil unrest of any kind is very upsetting to the social order, and most people just want to be left alone, so you have a very uphill battle convincing enough people to take part. And in the US, the only way a revolution could possibly be successful would be if elements of the military joined in with the rebellion, otherwise you would have marshal law swiftly declared and the insurrection put down. I think maybe we are potentially on a path to major civil upset, but I don't see it happening for at least another decade, probably more like two or three.
