1080p or 720p

1080p or 720p

season 3 when

Always 1080p if it's available.

Always 720p

Depends.

720p if your toaster can't do better. Lower if your portable toaster can't do better.

720p with some exceptions like
If you're talking about Kaiji specifically then 720p

What site, how accurate, and how wholesome?
Also some 1080p upscaled still look better than their original encodes.

HE FELT TERRIBLE!!

*ZAWA ZAWA*

4:2:0 8-bit or 4:4:4 10-bit

But a lot of people interpret this info wrong. They think it means that you should download 720p versions of BDRips since the 1080p is an upscale. The problem is that it's only in 1080p on the BD so the 720p is a downscale of an upscale which isn't the same as having the original.

So in the end, you still always have to download the 1080p BDRip if you want the best quality for something. There's no reason to even debate the quality of TV/WEBRips since they're never intended as archive copies anyways.

1080p + 4k + 7.1 flac is the only way

fix 2160p

720p for series bd
1080p for movie bd

where are the 1080p rips of season one I only see 480 and 720 for both seasons seems like they don't exist

It depends

1080p even if it's just an upscale because 720p looks like shit on 1080p screens.
And you should know that.

Will AV1 save anime encodes?

I usually download everything 720p even though I have a 1080 monitor because my internet is shit.

if you watch it on a regular laptop there is no point on 1080p

720 if it's a TV rip since 1080 is just upscaled, 1080 for BD always.

Not all anime is sub-720.

This.

Kaiji a cute

This is the correct answer almost all of the time, some TV anime airs above 720p, in which case the 1080p tag does make a difference. Although they're mostly awkward resolutions like 900p~.

Dont care, I stream and you should too.

>But muh pixel density and particles in childrens cartoons
Jesus christ

>1080p even if it's just an upscale because 720p looks like shit on 1080p screens.
It depends on what kind of screen we're talking about. A monitor or small TV? The difference is barely noticeable especially from a distance. The question becomes would you rather save 12gb worth of data for a 720 BD rip or 40gb worth of fluff for a 1080p BD rip.

Fuck off.

>tfw internet of stone age.
>tfw 1Gb takes almost 2 hours.
>tfw 720p is a luxury.

Hold me brothers.

720p + madvr = 1080p

Considering anime is a first world hobby you shouldn't even need to ask.

Most of the time 720p for anime and 1080p for movies and ova.
I make some exceptions if the show actually has good animation and its worth the 1080p like with CCS

there's no difference between 720p and 1080p tv anime

Where do you live nigga? I'm thirld worlder but still manage to download 720p in 20 minutes if its well seeded

[HorribleSubs] Gabriel DropOut - 05 [720p].mkv on mpv opengl-hq

vs [HorribleSubs] Gabriel DropOut - 05 [1080p].mkv
Is the difference worth 220 more MBs? I aren't think so.

Anything to reduce the vaseline effect is worth it. I've got a 4TB external I keep my anime on, I have more than enough space to keep everything at max bloat.

>complaining about space

Depends on the mood.

True serbian or another slav

>Considering anime is a first world hobby you shouldn't even need to ask.

So 720p BD rip because it has a better quality to drive space ratio than a 1080p series? The more you can archive onto an external harddrive the better.

i dont care about the space
but it's completely pointless to download the bigger file when there's no difference
i bet you buy gold plated diamond HDMI cables for 2000 bux because you think it makes anime look better

Just Finnish

>having such shit taste that you fill up a 4TB drive with completely forgettable crap just to say that you watched x anime

480 cause the size is smaller.

Who are you quoting?

Screw you i have a 4tb drive exclusively for muh 1080p h264 flac ac3 Singaporean puppet shows

Daiz won't be happy with you.

8K

>no difference

Prove he did ANYTHING wrong. Protip: you can't.

>used up resources and lost a star like a retard
>left the guy who saved him to die
>is a fat fuck
More like what didn't he do wrong

>tfw you can't see the difference
Well, I guess I'll go with 720, then.

vs stream

Ok, no. I can see the bad quality and the artifacts without needing to open the originals.

He is a fat fuck

>4:4:4
>1080p + 4k
>1080p even if it's just an upscale because 720p looks like shit upscaled
you're memeing too hard guyze

Why don't japs just produce them at 1080p?

The same reason as they don't increase the framerate

FLAC or AAC?

flac obviously

FLAC unless you want your audio to degrade in a few years.

your hdd would probably crash long before that happens

FLAC
Opus if it has to be lossy

12-bit x265 encode with FLAC 2.0 audio.

I just remux my favorite subs with the raw BD rips.
Storage is cheap.
