People reacting Samurai Jack S5 trailer

>people reacting Samurai Jack S5 trailer
>shocked at little blood on the screen
I forgot how bad the animation age ghetto was in the West.
Aren't you glad anime generally doesn't treat itself as kids' shows to the point of forcibly making the stories "kid friendly" where no living thing gets hurt even off screen?

edgy shit with loads of blood is usually aimed at 13 year olds

You can show blood and mature themes without being blatantly edgy or immature about it.

>forcibly making the stories "kid friendly"

But you are wrong. Anime does that. But the shows that does it are the ones that are aimed at kids. Just like how western shows that are aimed at kids.
There are western animated shows that are more mature as well you know. It' just that most western animation is aimed at kids.

It's garbage animated in flash, why do you give a fuck?

>got stabbed
>there is a trail of blood
>hurr not enough blood

yeah no, you are just edgy and immature

That's not what I implied, retard.
Samurai Jack is a good example of what there should be more of, in the Western animation that is.

The fact that the little amount of blood surprised almost everyone I have seen to react to the trailer is very telling of how unusual it is to have a cartoon even that mildly graphic. I am not claiming that it's "not enough".

More often than not its Akame ga Kill these days so I have zero faith.

>Samurai Jack
Oh shit nigga, I haven't watched that since I was a wee lad. Might pick it up.

Based Jack triggering the weebs.

...

It's actually a little disapointing because the first four seasons of samurai Jack were very creative with the blood and gore. With oil spilling out of the cybernetic assassins that came for thim and various other effects and visuals conveying the injuries of the supernatural creatures Jack fought.

Also:

But anime/manga does do that a lot of the times.
I think more in manga though, anime does it but usually never makes it relevant enough for it to matter so it might as well not have mattered.

That Samurai Jack trailer though. It's a show I'll just forget see with nostalgia goggles and just forget I even watched that trailer and not touching anything related to it ever again.

Your post is definitely not what your OP would imply.

It's norm for a 14+ rating action show involving sharp objects to have some blood, the only way it can come out shocking to viewers for having little blood is when the show originally contained a lot of blood.

your post could have been rephrased better with
>shocked at actually having blood on the screen

Not OP and I'm not trying to defend his shitpost either here, but it was pretty clear to me what he meant with that.

>pic
I cried.

That's what I like about anime more blookd and gruesome/taboo shit that wouldn't be accepted in western society (ugh)

Is she OK?

>western cartoons
>people will wait almost a decade for a sequel to the last good (this is stretching it) cartoon
I don't know how to feel, these are complex emotions.

Oh yeah i need to watch that new season of samurai jack. I havent watched modern western cartoons other than Venture bros

Well i like Venture bros but even with that you have to wait for new season 3 or 4 years

I'm pretty sure the last season was in 2004, so that makes it more than a decade. But it was legitimately good, I don't know why you said arguably.

>triggering weebs
>when it's a story about a Japanese samurai
If anything weebs love it.

>Illya touching the piece of rubble still thinking Berserker is still there with her
>average semi-normalfags watching the show all miss this detail
Still a bit upset.

But creator himself is weeb

>Unironically making a cartoon vs anime thread
Nice job OP, what will you make next, a console war thread on Sup Forums?

You seriously picked Fate as an example of a show not aimed at children?

Well, Jack was always rated for kids so there was never any noticeable bloodletting, only scratches. It was still a brilliant show, but the fact that he could only murder robots was always a sad limitation.

The new trailer has everyone happy because it will give the creators greater creative freedom.

Cartoons are for kids in the west, can't do much about it.

Does she die in every Fate series? Should I just skip to Prism Illya?

She doesn't die in Fate and in HF she sacrifices herself but it's not terribly sad.

She only died in UBW because the path would have been too perfect otherwise, Gil really had no reason to kill her and only made everything slightly harder for himself by doing so.

You should skip Prisma.

Might aswell. Only part of it that doesn't pretend to be anything more than shallow crap.

Flash "animation" was a mistake, and you have to go back

This is now a Samurai Jack thread
What was the best fight in the series and why was it with these niggers

also
>Those kids in school that didn't like the show because """nothing""" could happen in a whole episode

Don't use my wife to bag on Samurai Jack, mongrel! I am actually looking forward to more Jack a lot more than the Spring anime season.

What the fuck is Samurai Jack

The OP post is a compliment to SJ, because it's an exception to the norm.

I'm with . The OP "didn't" imply anything. He has literal, explicit language there, and you forced your own meaning into it and argued it was an "implication".

>Ultimatly like UBW the most because of Shirous interaction with Rin and Archer
>Everything else in the route is uninspired boring shit
It's a pain trying to defend the route when HF have Kirei.
Why the fuck did HF need to have 3 main villain when UBWs only got watered down rehashes?

Nasu is a fucking hack

>Samurai Jack S5
What?

She just drank wine and sleeping

5 seconds in google.

> Only part of it that doesn't pretend to be anything more than shallow crap.
HAAH
WAAW

Selfcest mana transfer isn't serious business, especially when delicious brown loli clones of yourself are involved. UFO should seriously release a 23-minute OVA of Illya and Kuro doing light mana transferring.

I don't think you've been in the Prisma threads much if you think "it that doesn't pretend to be anything more than shallow crap".

Like I said. It embraces it in full and thus easily surpasses the mess that is the rest of Fate.

>what if we took a serious VN
>then, what if we took some random, unimportant side character...
>and then, what if we made her, and all her irrelevant friends lesbians
>prisma illya

a complete insult to the Fate franchise.

It depends on the tone too, you know. People would be fucking shocked to see, say, DBS having blood everywhere because it's a kids show.

Kill yourself.

There's also stuff aimed directly at adults, like Rick and Morty or South Park (which has been just political satire for the last 10 years).
The problem is that there isn't much in between; shows that just tell a story without either trying to appeal to "respectable, serious adults" or being overly conscious about keeping everything g-rated.

I miss the old 90s cartoons like Rocko, Ren and Stimpy, etc, which were still mostly aimed at children but were far less concerned with coddling them.

>South Park
>aimed at adults
Are you sure? It might have just been the times, but I've only ever ehard of teenagers liking it.

South Park used to be aimed at teenagers and young adults when it was mostly toilet humor with the occasional political gag. But these days it's just straight up satire. Political satire usually appeals more to adults than to teens.

This is true but I think blood has its own merits. Blood in itself is an extremely vivid image full of a bright color. If we get more stuff like then I'm okay with the inclusion of it over the creative ways of showing damage.

Fuck off, Sup Forums.

Western cartoon kino.

And this last season was the least funny ever.

Nah. It's great.

Frankly I feel this FATE/* thing is bullshit.

At least *monogatari is a connected Arc.

Gil provided a lot of really solid thematic stuff to the route that I think people glance over.

Archer was definitely the most pivotal antagonist, but Shirou's fight with Gil was the culmination of all the character building and motifs presented previously.

The only good thing that came out of Prisma is aki99's porn.

I can't help but remember how the last time something from that era od american cartoons "came back" went. Powerpuff Girls anyone?

The Powerpuff Girls reboot wasn't helmed by anyone who made the original, and Craig McCracken has shied away from it (keep in mind, he's not too uptight. He liked the magical girl anime adaptation).

This straight up has Genndy directing again, along with several of the people who worked with him.

To bad the Gil himself in UBW was uninteresting shit whose only purpose was to serve as foder for Shirou

He's about the most interesting as he gets in FSN as a whole. It's in the supplementary material when he gets more build up.

But yeah, he worked a strong foil for Shirou, and the themes built up. Shirou was an imitation hero, Gil was billed as the "original" hero. Shirou crafted copies of weapons, while Gil carried the prototypes.

After defeating Archer, Shirou resolved to move forward as being a hero, and what Gil represented was an obstacle for him to overcome. Here comes this guy with a plan to kill everyone in the city, and maybe beyond. Time to sit up, or shut up, kid.

It's the resolution to the answer he got from Archer.

>retard psycho loli can't tell a rock's texture from her substitute father's skin

That's a compliment. Means Herc had some rock hard abs.

>not being open to all forms of animation
>literally cutting yourself off from entertainment

>abs
Sure user, Illya felt his rock hard "abs".

>cutting off the cancer
Good idea.

>I'm open to RWBY

>"entertainment"

There's quality in all forms of media
You really get nothing from ignoring an entire medium

RWBY is shit but Red vs. Blue is still surprisingly good.

You can do something about it but it would be a risk and no one has been willing to try since Spawn.

20 years and nothing like Spawn has been attempted.

Cancer: The Post

It wasn't so much there was blood as it was JACK GETTING STABBED IN THE STOMACH

I was taken aback, but more surprised that Jack actually was pushed back enough to get wounded.

Once Monty left directing, and Miles picked it up, the quality did a major jump.

I'm not gonna deny that seasons 9, and a chunk of 10 were a cesspit proto-RWBY, though.

>implying I even understand what you're talking about
>watching 10 fucking seasons of that shit

The first five seasons have some genuinely well written comedy in them.

Then it gets experimental.

youtu.be/3Rj3VZNgUfE?list=PLgk2b1AiN41R1JsPRC3nkNfOuy354fT-p

True true.

Most anime is for children though, just like western cartoons.

>It's 14 seasons or more
Telling you to kill yourself would be a mercy considering the dreadful way in which you're wasting your life.

Episodes are usually like 5-10 minutes long. A season amounts to about two hours.

For stuff like Netflix they usually merge them into single movies.

But (current) western cartoons for children are trash.

The animation of shows in the west aren't good but most times the story inside is usually great in my opinion. They have alternative and creative solutions to problems that wouldn't be so easy to solve. To see samurai jack take a darker tone is interesting but I will still want some of the old comedic stance they had.

Anime was the pure opposite most times great animation but the story is filled with common tropes and cliches to the point they abandon the plot entirely just for fanservice.
>Transfer students
>Little girls in roles not usually held by little girls
>Young male doing extreme jobs that would easily get them killed
>Forced romance / Hinted romance
>Muh new powers asspull

If the first few episodes are good I might stay for the long hall.

I saw bodies being slashed spewing blood and saw a character burn itself to death by combustion at seven or eight years old. I was subjected to magazine hentai at around ten or eleven my mom bought it for me in accident and I was actually the one who brought to attention asking if she was sure. I've seen films for ages eighteen up around that age as well. Pretty sure I saw legitimate hentai broadcast somewhere.

I'd say I came out just fine, I'm pretty chillax. I barely could remember shit and it never struck me as shocking because it was a series, not real life, but nevertheless found it wicked. People need to focus less on showing gratuitous meaningless shoved sex/violence (because fucking no even if some children just forget about it) to children and more on showing shit that actually shows PERHAPS sexual themes (these children aren't going to be sheltered for fucking forever, they will eventually learn this shit no matter how shut-in they are) and ''proper'' violence along with its consequences with actual moral stories.

It did had blood. DBS is just severely toned contrary to the former seasons and series.

You're even gonna feel light-headed from trying to compare early DBZ to the entirety of DBS, the contrast is that big.

DBS ain't DBZ. DBZ Kai was also severely toned down. Stop acting like it's limited to the West.

It was and still is. It actually was more "kid friendly" back in the 90s (at least PG 13) but as time progressed it got more and more morbid and went full on controversy and Satire

Wrong. Most of it is for teens (13 to 19 years old).
Western cartoons rarely cover any audience besides 6-12, maybe 13 years old.
Cartoons have degenerated massively over the last 20-25 years. Most of it is SJW trash or completely braindead garbage like the breadwinners and 90% of live action TV shows

>it's not for children
>it's for teens
Whoa.

Yeah but this time original creator is with that

Just wanted to make clean that I didn't mean to say live action shows are cartoons but rather that they're trash, just like modern cartoons

It took like what, 30 years before Parasyte got an anime so?

>Cartoons have degenerated massively over the last 20-25 years. Most of it is SJW trash or completely braindead garbage
I really like how you're implying anime aren't like this

>Samurai Jack
>not good
It is great

Regular show was good despite CN neglecting forever, Adventure time was okay pre fire princess, Steven Universe is extremely polarizing. Action cartoons legit dont exist anymore. Young Justice and pretty much all of DC's animated action shows are gone and is replaced with TTG. Marvel had some stuff on disney XD or whatever that channel is called. Ultimate spiderman and avengers are done last i heard

Teens are closer to the age of 18 and 21 than kids.
Teens also think more different and grown up than children.
Also, puberty normally starts at 13 for boys and 11 for girls

This really feels like a little kid trying to seem more mature in front of adult peers.

>degenerated
>SJW
