It's an optical illusion that only works if you actually are reading from the physical book, you have to look at it slightly tilted.

He wanted to give the reader the perspective of being the soccer ball.

>you will never end up between a japanese soccer player's sweaty muscular thighs

this is the reason because all prefer the anime.

Someone post the group picture already

It's like le jojo proportions being fucked because of the book format

W-what.

...

...

>those legs almost twice the torso length
Beautiful

>Dem Legs
>Dem Torso
>Dem Head

Capt. Stubasa is Avant Grade and Miracle of Universe !!

is this a soccer-themed Shingeki no Kyojin but only with colossal titans ?

...

LEGS

S

it's silly but it works with kids, the main audience.

The fuck

holy shit that's insane

even saint seiya isn't that bad

Who would win?

The guy has been pumping sequel after sequel for Tsubasa, the Japanese government recognizes the series as the inspiration for many youths taking up football and making Japan actually start participating in the World Cup.

He is fufilled, nobody will force him to learn how draw better.

where did this meme come from; i like it

left would win

Captain Tsubasa hasn't been on any magazine aimed for children since 2002.

Only dudes that grew up with it and the japanese sports associations follow and support it religiously.

Sup Forums and /tg/ like most of the cancer in this imageboard.

Guy on the left has incredible range and looks determined as all hell. The other one just looks insecure and worried.

>all prefer the anime.
Only spaniards and italians are like that, nostalgia for the first anime series where most of the names got in a weird way, western names with japanese family names.

Osora Tsubasa became Oliver Tsubasa.

QUALITY manga

Are you memeing me?

Never read a book before? The pages bending at the center is what he was talking about.

I can sort of understand why it might work, but I'd have to see it in action.

Nothing, looks great. There's a reason so many love it

that's because it wasn't meant to be read that way you moron. First of all it's the angle, the perspective of it becomes more immersive when you read the actual book, it's an optical illusion. not to mention that page was cut in the original release, so he made it longer

JoJo is the same in spreads.

If that's the case, what's with his left arm and leg?

What the fuck are you talking about? the entire manga is drawn that way

have you ever read an old manga? they don't open completely. It's meant to be something like this.

The angles were meant to give the reader a weird perspective, like you're in there.

The legs are also long because it works for a manga where they spend all the time kicking a ball, have you ever read captain tsubasa? it's very fluid to read

I meant his left. They're long too.

And I replied to you
>What the fuck are you talking about? the entire manga is drawn that way

>have you ever read an old manga? they don't open completely. It's meant to be something like this.

>The angles were meant to give the reader a weird perspective, like you're in there.

Are you baiting?

Kek

I was just curious. I'm not sure how much of this manga is utilizing proportions to convey action and motion, and how much is just the artist.

It's both. Obviously he has his own style, and on the other hand it was made to be read with a weird angle.

That's it

He's a master of proportions.

gay hands but with legs

I can't stop laughing. what the fuck.

It was also very popular with the Arabic dub aired as Captain Majid. It had next to no haram content, it was one of the very few anime that has aired in Arabic speaking countries without dumb edits other than name changes.

>have you ever read an old manga? they don't open completely
Why is this part of the argument? Captain Tsubasa still gets sequels to this day, the art barely changed and new manga print now open completely.

There's no such a thing like optical illusion, his art just sucks.

/tg/ here, it's payback for you shitting up our board for years with your stupid quests.

It actually mostly comes from Sup Forums (specifically LA Noir), but you could probably argue image mirroring as a meme dates to UNITINU.

>arabs are such faggots they'd rather watch cartoon soccer than see a tit

Hold up faggot, Captain Tsubasa is popular in many countries, the arab guy probably doesn't have high level football to watch locally, watching Tsubasa is a viable option.

If I tilt my head sideways to the left, it looks completely normal.

He is kicking the wrong ball.

No, ti's the right ball.

Referee's are a rare breed in Captain Tsubasa's world, they commit so many blatant fouls that the one time a referee pulled a red card he was seen as a villain trying to get in the way of the Japanese Team.

It's funny how in both anime series the field looks so massive that when any player runs across it, the landscape freaking curves.

It was actually Oliver Hutton, at least in Italy
Other changes were Benjamin Price for Genzo Wakabayashi in fact the series was titled "Holly and Benji" and Bruce Harper for Ryo Ishizaki

they play on a hill.

>It was actually Oliver Hutton, at least in Italy
It's the brazilian portuguese dub that had these mixed names. He is Oliver Tsubasa in here.

Hills all around the world?

wew, I don't even know any of the original names besides the protag.

All I remember are names like Julian Ross, Mark Lenders, Tom Baker and so on

maybe.

Its a shame that there is not an english translation of the Gem Boy (italian group) video.

The mangaka is so bad at proportions, even the names of the characters get skewed into a total mess.

In Mexico it was Oliver Atom, Benji was Benji and Bruce was Bruce, the rest of the characters all had different names from the other versions (Steve Hyuga, Tom Misaki, shit like that)

Do you really believe I actually remember those names? Wikipedia was created for this very reason

The best one was that "article" where they calculated that the field was almost 18 km long and the players run the 100 m in 7 seconds

Is there any other soccer manga been released nowadays?

>WTF
Fuck off.

Area no Kishi might be most mainstream series right now, not really my favorite.

But yeah, there's plenty of football manga still being made and Captain Tsubasa still pops up from time to time.
