That method works for me, I'm not sure how you could go wrong. try deleting your cookies before trying?
Not sure if you already had it fixed but I had the exact same problem a few months ago and all you need to do is delete all your cookies again and try logging back in. Back the , I couldn't get past the panda even though I was logged in on the forums.
