It's not the most accurate analysis in the world. Remember that Ashkenazi Jew itself means European mixed with Jewish.

The small percentages are just guesswork and are meaningless; they even have different models that will calculate the percentages differently. There's only so much info you can get from the markers they look at.
And in terms of markers Ashkenazi can be pretty close to Italian.
I'm smart enough to understand this shit because I'm pure Ashkenazi, of course.

Please put more effort into composing your post. What I think you mean is that the genetic markers of Ashkenazis are close to Italians, Germans, and Poles. I'm not exactly sure how close these various markers are, but I do remember that the closest genotype to Ashkenazi was an Italian genotype. You may be correct that it's Southern Italian specifically, I cannot recall.

Second of all, 23andme decides what you are based off of what various "confirmed" populations claim to be, so they ask jews with "confirmed" identity for example to send in their DNA, then they use those samples to compare client DNA. And since modern jews are 50% pure meme and 50% various mixed ethnicities, it is very easy for people to get matched to "jewish" DNA. Unless you have any recent ancestry in the levant, your "jewish" blood is whatever memetic nonsense modern european LARPers known as "ashkenazi jews" have come up with. Just to give you an idea of the huge discrepancies, i took the test, th e 90% confidence estimate (most accurate) put me at 30% jew, the 50% confidence estimate (least accurate) put me at 70%! This is just more proof that a lot of DNA matched as jewish is guessed as such, essentially. Then I used GEDmatch to get a more accurate analysis, and it told me I was likely sicilian. I have 0 Sicilian or southern european ancestors. All of my recent ancestors are from eastern europe, these tests also told me I was only like 25% eastern european.

You probably actually have Ashkenazi ancestry. There were lots of Ashkenazis in Eastern Europe who immigrated to the US (my ancestors are also from Eastern Europe). And Ashkenazi genetic markers are close to certain Italian genetic markers which is probably why you got mistaken for Sicilian.

Oh I do, a single grandparent. My point is that their estimates can be completely inaccurate and full of guesswork. As I said if I set my confidence to 50% which is basically telling them to analyze it very liberally and guess as much as possible, I get 70% jewish, which is impossible simply due the fact that I don't have three jewish grandparents. And when I selected 90%, actually it told me that the majority of my european ancestry was "uncertain", meaning they couldn't find out where it was from. At 50% they decide to put most of that same, indeterminate ancestry, in the jewish category, for whatever reason. Probably because many jews today are like 10% jewish but claim to be pure, so they match that DNA to other european DNA and assume it is somehow jewish.
