I just like them together and think they will fit really well with each other, it seems to me they are the most family oriented characters and I think it's cute.
Takumi is also a more hot tempered version of Souma while Megumi can usually be calm but doesn't have the confidence at all. It would make a good balance.

It's all mostly thanks to the drama cd, that I feel with shoujo vibes, that I started liked them.
People started to ship them more because they are always together now, not much science into it.
