I literally only care about Megumi, and as much I love Soumegu; its pretty obvious that they won't be happening. The mangaka seems to prefer them as bestfriends, and I've made my peace with it. I don't try to delude myself especially when it's so obvious to tell which pairings will happen in a Shounen. NS and IR fans deluded themselves for years and look what happened to them in the end.

It seems that the mangaka is going to pair her up romantically with Takumi instead; as long as he develops their relationship properly(because as it stands now, theres nothing to it) then I'll be fine with it. I just want her to happy and fulfilled at the end of series, and if Takumi is including in that then that's great, if she ends up alone then thats fine too.

In an old interview, it was stated that what she felt "admiration for now" or something along those lines. I do think a love triangle was going to happen, but it was chucked out the window and I feel that was a good move.
