Yuri on ice outsold Love Live

Yuri on ice outsold Love Live

How does that make you feel?

Oh hey so did Uta-pri. Holy shit Uta-pri is still going.

>Yuri on ice outsold Love Live

Ha ha time for butthurt /u/fags

Expected since both are pure crap.

>Remember if you can't outsell LL and Looney Tunes you are nothing

But did it outsell K-ON?

>Yuri on ice
is shit.

>43,878 K-ON!
>39,519 K-ON!!

BTFO

Does Japan have streaming services where you can watch anime? It wouldn't surprise me if women were - again - behind the times and still bought physical media while men are more likely to use streaming services.

This tells me the one who controls the fujo audience controls the world.

Now add them, nothing made to appeal women will come close to those numbers. And you're forgetting the movie.

Do streaming services have a negative impact on sales?

K-On's anime adaptation was made to appeal to adult women.

>Now add them
That's not how it works you faggot piece of shit.

What the fuck did you smoke

K-on is made for women, said the director

Gundam Seed + Gundam Seed Destiny sales >>> K-On

It's LL 5 out of 7 volumes average vs Yuri on Ice 2 out of 6 volumes average. It's completely incorrect to compare those numbers.

But if you compare per volume sales LL vol 1 outsold YoI volume 1. LL volume 2 outsold YoI volume 2.

But did they outsell Madoka?

Yes.

>Sunshine
Nobody cares about Aquors.

But did they beat Sazae-san in TV rankings?

Nothing really, nips have had worse taste than Sup Forums for years so I don't think why'd anyone expect them to do a 180.

Good, idolshit is cancer and Love Live is the biggest tumor. I take fujoshit everyday before that shit.

Meanwhile, when Sunrise makes fujoshit it becomes the most profitable anime of all time.

Why does KyoAni get all the shitposts when Sunrise is objectively and factually the best Japanese animation studio of all time?

Because outside of Japan they are only known for doing mecha and mecha is niche, save for a few exceptions.

Kyoani is a literally who compared to Shaft and Sunrise in terms of sales. Bakemonogatari and SEED are the best selling and most profitable anime.

Didn't

SEED sold 59k, Destiny 69k, Madoka 71k

>LL volume 2 outsold YoI volume 2.
No it didn't.

That can't possibly be true. In the early 00s KyoAnus shows sold really well despite being shit, where as the late 00s Shaft shows sold like shit despite being really good. They're probably about equal over all.

Yes, but when you add re-releases, Seed wins.

Was meant for

Re-releases aren't comparable. First release of SEED was on DVD; re-release was a Blu-Ray with improvements. Madoka re-release was the same shit as the volumes. Why rankings don't count them

>I take fujoshit everyday before that shit.

There's the gay one

Because it doesn't make the same shit every year targeting the same audience every time and thus creating solid (but retarded) fanbase.

While Sunrise is known for its mecha, it still makes lots of other anime like LL and Gintama.

It doesn't matter, it's still copies sold and thus money made. It's not like Sunrise did anything extraordinary for remastered version. In fact it has less improvements than Madoka TV compared to Blu-ray version.

Aquors was honestly mediocre, I mean the last episode was basically a recap, Not to take anything away from YOI though.

People think its just all fujos but the music was 10/10 and the characters kept it alive, I mean you had all range of characters to enjoy.

Fujoshit and idolshit sale. What' new?

>when you add re-releases
Who adds re-releases?

Anyone with common sense? Why wouldn't more sales of the same product count?

Streaming video is the epitome of speed over quality and anyone who supports it is cancer.

>In the early 00s KyoAnus shows sold really well
Fumoffu was not shit, Munto did not sell well, and those are the only early 00s KyoAni shows.

Nowadays there isn't much of a difference any more. Not to mention that most of us have always been watching TV rips.

inb4 daiz

Because that brings in matters of popularity/taste changing over time.

These data and numbers are fun to look at. Numbers are more fun than television.

Good point. I guess the original Gundam is a failure because nobody cared about it until it was rereleased.

>thinking people buy BDs to watch the show
They are collector's items. Often they come in very nice boxes, bundled with goodies like art books, music CDs, drama CDs, special episodes, comic omake, even tickets to events. Hell, the reason the Love Live BDs sold so well is cause the first volume was half priced and came with a ticket to a concert. People literally bought like 10 copies and then resold the BDs on eBay just so they could get the tickets. It's all about those secondary incentives and making it appealing as a collectable.

...

Pretty good. It's nice to see a legitimately good and original (albeit flawed) anime do well financially.

But did it have a deep, thought-provoking plot like Madoka?

I thought so.

Why make a new thread?

>Yuri on ice
>show does not contain Yuri

I even watched it for 15 minutes ffs.

Butthurt probably

Why? Are Love Live and Yuri on Ice supposed to be rivals?

>deep, thought-provoking plot like Madoka
Kys

But it has two Yuris!

Eva is still at the top, who cares.

>I take fujoshit everyday before that shit.

More than the average yuribait show

>outsold one volume of Love Live
>has yet to even touch LL's full numbers
Call me when that happens.

People didn't buy home video in 1979. Gundam was extremely successful as soon as they released plamo for it. Only the shitty diecast toys failed

yaoi vs yuri

>YURI on ice
>yaoi
?

No, fujos don't have anything against Love Live but a lot of /u/fags and waifu fags can't handle a fujo show selling more than their favorite show so they act as if Love Live outselling YoI means they "win" some non-existent competition. Some argue that anything outselling YoI means the fujos "lose".

This is ridiculous. Yurifags and fujos are allies, evil breeders are their common enemy.

>Madoka
>deep
It was a good story and it was entertaining, but it certainly wasn't deep.

Not an accurate comparison, and not a good way to brag about YOI's extremely bragworthy sales.

Stop giving LLfags fuel to pretend the only way YOI can be considered a success is by beating LL, you're helping them move the goalposts. LL is not the gauge for good sales, it is a juggernaut and just being mentioned in the same breath as it is a huge achievement for an original series like YOI.

But a lot of yuri fans are fujoshi. Why would fujos be mad that their other favourite show is doing well?

>fujoshit is still at the top
Yurifags doubly BTFO

area 11 isn't the same

Please tell me, aside from gays, did gay skating have any quality worth its commercial succes?
Does it hold anything against Madoka?

YoI has achieved so much already. How many anime have Olympic athletes doing interviews about how much they loved the show? Or have the actual World Champion wear a YoI shirt to an interview on Russian national tv?

this

Where the fuck is this list from?

Actually Evangelion is second place in all time best selling anime, the first place is The World of Golden Eggs.

It's a niche sport.

Wait a second, aren't the Olympics going to be in Japan again soon?
Yuri on Ice confirmed to be a propaganda tool to promote the Olympics.

I'm sure if Japan could do a soccer anime worth giving two fucks about, soccer players from all over would rejoice it as well.

It's like the only serious piece of media about their irrelevant sport. No wonder they latched onto it. It's not a big deal.

Summer olympics are in nipland. Next winter are in korea I think?

Sup Forums won I guess.

It's a good series, but so vastly different from Madoka that comparing them would be retarded

Golden Eggs is animated in japan, by definition it is anime.

There are plenty of sports anime already but basketball players don't give a fuck about Kuro no Basuke, tennis players don't care about Prince of Tennis, boxers don't care about Hajime no Ippo etc.

>d-don't compare them because Madoka easily beats YOI
Good.

Cause they are all about high schoolers.

The only thing YOI has over other sports anime is that it branches out to other countries. As far as I know, all the others outside YOI stay within Japan and maybe mention one or two americans.

Hajime no Ippo is about highschoolers?

Why would they waste their time with Chinese cartoons? Basketball players and tennis player are multimillionaire stars living in mansions. Skaters are literally whos no one cares about.

Tennis players did care about good tennis anime back in the day

>add them
We'll be sure to do so once YoI S2 sells.

>Does Japan have streaming services where you can watch anime?
Is this a serious question?

Slam Dunk pretty much made the whole East Asia interested in basketball and is also the responsible of the creation of the JBL.

But they cared about Slam Dunk and Captain Tsubasa

So they went from one fat demographic to another?
