Was it like that in the anime too? I read the manga and there was absolutely no way Koyori could have return Kururi's shot from that angle.

Well I dunno about the manga, it's only up to chapter 1 (?), but in the anime it looked like the ball was literally being sucked back towards her. If it were just a normal curve drive it wouldn't have been able to literally curve 180, but Koyori hit it like a normal ball. I was expecting her to basically dive for it to get contact, since Death could literally just let it run into the wall once it returned to her.

Might be a spin on the last axis. If a curve drive makes it spin horizontally and a loop / chop make it spin forward or backwards, the last one might make it spin sideways so as soon as it hits the table it basically fucks off to the side.
